Food was ok, setting was fantastic, and the place was not staffed adequately for the number of customers.

It took over an hour to get 4 burgers and a grilled cheese. The waiters are nice but it shouldn't take this long to get burgers.

I thoroughly enjoyed going to Maligne…read moreLake, as there's lots to do, such as a nice boat cruise that you can take (reserve online in advance) along with multiple hiking trails (Moose Lake & Bald Hills loop, etc). There's also a convenient cafe, gift shop, waffle/gelato shop and a nice restaurant (Maligne Lake Chalet) available in the surrounding area. Note: there's no cell reception, limited wifi available though. The 90-minute, scenic boat cruise is worthwhile! The cost is a bit steep, so book early! You can enjoy some awesome views from the water and briefly visit another area where you can see Spirit Island. Kat and Clara were our guides/captain and they were both so great! Kat is so friendly and welcoming, and she did a very good job explaining the history and significance of the area. Definitely recommend! You can really spend a full day exploring around Maligne Lake. We were only there for about 5.5 hours, but it was a pleasant experience and luckily the weather was great too. I'd also suggest having lunch at Maligne Lake Chalet, it was flavorful and delicious and our server, Patrick was helpful and kind. The waffle/gelato hut is a good place to stop after hiking, and while it is a bit pricey, the gelato was quite tasty & refreshing! Please keep in mind, Maligne Lake is a busy, popular place and parking can be a challenge. We arrived around 11:30am and had to circle around a few times before finding a place to park. There is overflow parking (smaller in size, slightly up the hill) in case you can't find a spot in the main lot. Overall, Maligne Lake is wonderful place to visit and is definitely worth visiting while in Jasper.

The burgers were good but the fries were exceptional. One person in our group also had fish and chips and that was good too. One had brunch and ordered pancakes, and those were really good that we decided to go back for breakfast the next day. For brunch the next morning, we had the Lou Lou's Omelette and some waffles. Both were exceptional and really hit the spot. Service was excellent, all the servers always had smiles on their faces and were always attentive. When we visit Jasper again, we will surely stop by Lou Lou's!

Loulou's also serves pizzas, ranging from the basic to special pizza pies. My partner had the Loulou's breakfast, which includes two eggs, toast, potatoes, tomatoes and your choice of meats. I had the three-cheese omelette with potatoes and toast. Both dishes were very tasty and cooked to perfection. The ambiance of the restaurant almost looks like a 1950's dinner, and is super cool and very welcoming. Soft jazz music was playing while we were there, which made it relaxing as well. Service was excellent and spot on, very polite and professional. A must if you are in the area of downtown Jasper and even just passing through!! I look forward to returning to try their pizza.

They keep a fire going so we got to enjoy sitting around the fire for a bit both nights we were there. There is a restaurant and bar on the property. I didn't get any food but they offered a small sangria welcome drink. The rooms are pretty comfortable and have a fridge but no microwave. I did find a small spider near my bed though. We also saw a few elk around the property which was cool!

Staff helped direct us to plenty of nearby locations that largely avoided impacts from the wildfire and retained much (or all) of their natural splendor--if you are worried about not being able to see much, don't be--come to Jasper and stay at Pine Bungalows. The cabin itself was very well maintained, smelled wonderful, and came packed with great tea and coffee. We were stocked daily with firewood, starters, and kindling that supported our s'more-eating habit. Our neighbor cabin guests, and all of the cleaning staff we met, were all kind and helpful. Our check-in staff member's handwritten directions on a lodge-provided map (attached) led us to several days of extraordinary beauty. She (Name = Strawberry) told us that Maligne Lake was pristine -- and we saw bald eagles, black bear cubs, and grizzly cubs with mom from the safety of our car. She said Pyramid Lake was beautiful, and we basked in the rich meadow trails and overlooks over several pristine lakes, including Pyramid Lake, and visited the wedding island to top it off. She encouraged us to take the tram up to Whistlers Mountain or drive to Mt. Robson--we did both (and Kinney Lake), and were left speechless both times. In other words, she helped us see Jasper and the surrounding area for what it truly is, and not just its recent disaster. We look forward to returning. A note on wildlife and the surrounding area. Magpies and cow elk frequently came right up to the cabin's perimeter. A coyote was seen outside the Bungalow's property, but never came close to the cabin (by visual, scat, or print). If you are trying to see wildlife, this is a great spot to use as your base of operations. There is a very occasional odor from the nearby water treatment facility, but it will last seconds for every hour you are outside so don't let that influence your decision. Can't recommend this business enough! Help Jasper recover and stay here!

The room was very nice and we really enjoyed the experience. As long as their is a nice comfortable bed, a nice size clean bathroom and enough room to sit, I am happy. This place fit the bill. We were here as part of out Rocky Mountaineer trip and they had a staffer with a separate check in for us. You leave the train, they take you over by coach and the baggage is already in the room. The staff was fabulous and everyone was very attentive to any of our needs and always very accommodating. I had only one issue here... lots of people and not a lot of places to eat. A bar and restaurant. My wife and I are used to multiple choices and the ability to walk downtown if we want. Here that was really not an option. We came back late from a tour and it was difficult to be seated. The VERY NICE host took our name and really watched the flow of people and managed to get us in a bit earlier than the reservation we made. Food and atmosphere is good and our server did a wonderful job. (some food pictures attached as well as a separate review.) If I was ever back in the area I would certainly come back but... be better prepared. KUDOs to the team at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge
