I ordered take out for myself and my son last night. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. I ordered a sandwich and a burger and when I received the bill I paid for it and was thinking how this is kind of pricey. when I looked at the receipt I found they had put an 18% gratuity on my takeout order! I did ask to speak with a manager I was planning to cancel my order all together the owner came over and told me that because of covid-19 and their drop in business he put the gratuity on takeout to help out his servers. now I can understand a covid-19 surcharge of a dollar or two but to put an 18% gratuity on something that I am not receiving service for is ridiculous. I myself am struggling due to covid-19 so I am only able to eat out half as much as I used to and he was taking money out of my pocket making it that much longer before I save up to go out to eat again. Gratuity is for the service you received when you sit down in a restaurant, your server refills your water, your server brings you napkins, your server does checkbacks to make sure everything is okay that is what a gratuity pays for. I typically tip 10% on takeout orders because I understand that yes the servers still have to tip share on their sales. I did let the owner know that yes he probably lost my business for take out but I truly enjoy his food so I would most likely return for dine-in however when the owner of the establishment brought my food to me he says and I quote "here you go boss lady" so that lovely little comment just lost him all my business and lost his servers all my future dine in 20% tips read more

I have driven past this place dozens of times and now I'm sorry that I didn't stop in. I took my daughters here for a quick bite since it is close to Frederick HS. I was delighted by the friendly greeting and genuine kindness from the staff... so many smiles! The food was so delicious and hot off the grill- I was Uber impressed! This place is definitely a hidden gem, big juicy burgers, hot fresh fries and breakfast dishes served all day... my server named Samantha was so very sweet and was quick to refill drinks. This little gem was a great find by my wife after church one morning! I've been there a few times and have had a solid meal every time. The owner was buzzing around the entire restaurant; checking in with everyone throughout the visit. The one and only time we had to wait to be seated, he came and made funny faces at our toddler and made us feel at home. It's a great family experience and you can tell because every staff member was loving on everyone's kiddos! The best chicken Fried Chicken around. Chicken fried steak and not-so-great. Make sure you get a side salad if you buy an entree their salads are fresh and delicious. I remember when this place used to be a gas station. They've turned it into a hot spot for locals to enjoy good food with good company. The food was decent. However, the only reason I felt compelled to write this review was because the owner or manager (someone important) gave us the best service I've ever had at a restaurant. He was very attentive to meet EVERYONE'S needs (the place was packed). It's always nice supporting a local business when there's people like that who care. Oh my gosh I love this place. The food is delicious, the staff is amazing and the ambiance is comfortable and welcoming.

My ladies group had our book club lunch at ELF today and were bowled over with the great food and staff there. The owner came by to joke with us and we had fun with him too. Our waitress Nicki was super good to us, very upbeat and friendly, always asking if we needed more coffee or other drinks. I had the Cubano and it was super good and tasty, my sister had the American Burger which she loved, the Mac & Cheese was tasty and the Cinnamon Roll was to die for as was the fried oreos....OMG! It's hard to argue with the name: Everyone Loves Food. The service was very friendly and personal. It definitely feels like a family-run joint, like the sign says. It's not fine dining, but it's not supposed to be. The menu exhibits just the right amount of imagination and creativity for a place like this. The stuffed mushroom appetizer in particular was very good, and a good example of the extra mile ELF goes beyond average diner fare. I had the teriyaki burger, which did not disappoint. Had the privilege of eating out with my family on Sunday we came in a bit late after lunch clearly they had a busy morning and lunch rush hour. We were served promptly and taken care of , in general, by all staff not just our waitress( who was wonderful.) We we're visited by the owners, and joked with by the son, who I presume, is also the guy who made our meal. He and his wife celebrating their 17 year anniversary. the food was excellent. Down- home style , real ingredients, and a very nice selection. My husband got the green chili smothered chicken fried steak and eggs on homestyle hash browns topped with some gravy homemade pork green chili and of course washer racha sauce. I got the Reuben with bacon and swiss and onion rings on the side. And of course my son got the wild boar cheddar jalapeno brat loaded with tons of mustard a side of fries and a salad of course for dessert we all shared the fried Oreos topped with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce and I finished all my food, our bill was under $70 with tip, drinks, and of course extras. you could tell this family-ran business, is ran by absolute 100% love and dedication. I love that that place is open. It's not such an extensive menu that they screw it up. It's basic good food. The stuffed mushrooms are great, burgers are good, chicken fried chicken is awesome and filling. Service is pretty good and owners are super friendly. This is a local restaurant with many local customers. It is a warm friendly environment. I am a supporter of the small local businesses and it is businesses like this one that make me such an avid supporter. The chicken fried steak does have a tasty gravy. The stuffed mushrooms are a little spicy but not too spicy and lots of filling, they will fill you up. These and a side salad or bowl of soup and you have a meal. I enjoy the Cubano. My favorite is the Philly Cheesesteak. I am not a big french fry person so I usually order a vegetable side. However, theirs are good and I always have to steal one of two fries from one of my friends. I am also a fan of their portion sizes. I think that they are nice size without going overboard and always having to take leftovers or leaving half a plate of food. But for those that like those humongous portions, try their challenge, the Triple ELF! You sure won't walk away hungry if you can walk away at all!
