E.L.F. for Everybody Loves Food and how true of a statement, right? So with that, an establishment should make sure that it is their food everybody will love. With understanding there are very few dining options in Dacono, this place was incredibly busy. It's a small restaurant so one group of 14 will and did take up half of the dining area. We were still seated right away (yay for last table availability) our drink order taken (but forgotten), rushed to place an order for apps (we went with fried pickles which were not that good), and pushed to get our dinner order in right away. Oh, and a bit pressured to pay up quick too. The meals are of decent proportions but again, not good. I ordered the caliente burger and while it was caliente, the burger itself was bland. Almost like those frozen burger patties one can buy by the box. I requested a side salad substitution and instead of balsamic vinaigrette, i got straight up balsamic vinegar. Barf. My BF ordered the mac 'n cheese with bacon sandwich and fries. The fries were good and crispy (hence at least one star) but the sammy was way too cheesy. They add slices of kraft cheese on top of the already uber cheesy mac 'n cheese. May I offer Sargento at least???? E.L.F. to me is basic. Nothing exceptional for their unique offerings, which is what I was hoping for. I dont think I'll be a repeat customer. Not worth the $20+ meal price. read more

We read about ELF Grill on a list ranking the top 50 burgers in Colorado... so we thought we would stop by today... It was absolutely delicious... It's a Sunday, so some of us had brunch (waffles, fluffy pancakes, biscuits with gravy) and some of us had lunch...(burgers, sausage, open faced beef with mashed potatoes) Wow, we decided we will definitely be back... The prices were very reasonable. The serving sizes were very large... They were able to accommodate our party of eight... Which was five adults three kids really easily... The service was incredible... our drinks were kept filled. Our food came out quick... The place is small so as it becomes more and more popular, I'm sure that the wait time might be getting longer... I have no clue why this place had such good reviews. People should get out more. The food is terrible. It's clear the food is straight out of a microwave. Canned vegetables and meat cookies cooked until they are burnt. It was a rough experience food wise. This place is not for me. Some of the staff was a little too aggressive with one brunette waitress pacing around in circles throughout the tables over and over again talking to herself. It was really annoying. Not sure how this restaurant got a 4.5 rating. I ordered the chicken fried steak and it was way below my expectations. Basically it was ground up meat of some kind and then flattened very, very thin with a flour coating outside - then deep fried. Terrible! French fries were great. Coleslaw was tasteless. One the other hand, my husband had the chicken fried chicken and it was very good. An actual good size chicken breast with a great batter, then deep fried. He had what they called fresh corn but in our thoughts it came out of a can. The reason we went with a 2 rating was that my husband's meal was actually pretty good. Before I forget, the gravey on top was congealed . Horrible looking but it was at least hot. If this is the type of meal you would like to eat, by all means...go. I visited one day for lunch - I had to check the place out due to the name - "Elf!" I ordered the Rattlesnake Brat - served on a bun. I opted to have them add fresh chopped jalapeños and avocado. I tasted, then added some Sriracha sauce. The Rattlesnake Brat was really good. Tasty! Savory. Served with a side cole slaw and water. The manager came by to check on me a couple of times. The minute you walk in the door, you think you are visiting friends. The staff is very friendly and the food is the best diner food you can get. Everything is handmade specially for you. The sandwiches are delicious and the green chile is to die for! It is some of the best ever. We just happened upon this place during a Saturday drive. What a great experience we had eating here. We are from out of town, just passing through on a Friday night, and we were STARVING... Saw that Elf had a good score on Yelpx so we gave it a try. So glad we did. The food is truly homemade and really tasty. Ryan and his family bust their butts to make sure the service and the food are great. We really liked the stuffed mushrooms ( Ryan's mom shared bits of the recipe), the German sausage and the bison burger. Literally everything about our food was awesome. The breading reminded me of what you would get on a mozzarella stick full of flavor! Our only request would be a spicy option for the sauce or perhaps mixed into the breading. My family and I LOVE ELF! We live in Longmont, and come here at least once a month. I'm addicted to the chicken fried chicken, and the fried Oreos! The portions are HUGE, the service is always excellent, and staff is always friendly and attentive. It's kinda in the middle of nowhere, but definitely a great little place. Okay the real reason for the review I'm posting today is.. I am currently travelling since a month and craving to eat their "The E.L.F. (chicken fried chicken)" right now. I am not kidding, this is the best ever breakfast, I ever ate since I moved to America. It isn't just the food, but how they recieve you is so amazing. It is a family owned business (I guess) and they treat you like their own family. Being in a different country makes me miss my family a lot of times. These people make you feel like you are eating your breakfast with your own family. The food tastes so damn good. I fell in love with the E.L.F., and never even tried another dish till now, because it is so damn perfect (the texture, smell and taste). I highly recommend this place if you haven't tried it yet. Well there's no coincidence that every review gives the ELF Grill five stars. These aren't all friends and family, or some weird fluke. They're just running that great of a diner here. I recently came in for lunch after a friend had told me about the several meals he had enjoyed here. We were in the area and he said "I'd like to take you to that place I've been telling you about." When we pulled into the parking lot I noticed it was nearly full. In my simple mind this is typically a good sign. Once inside we were quickly greeted and sat. Service was very prompt and friendly. After perusing the menu for a minute or two I stumbled across The E.L.F., this is a chicken fried steak that has been smothered in pork green chili and gravy then topped with an egg (prepared to your liking) some bacon and of course cheese. This is all served upon a bed of fried potatoes. Yes please, that's what I'm having! It arrived as described and quickly too. Every bite was delicious. The chili was a near perfect Colorado style green chili that we all know and love. The egg was runny and melted into the rest of the dish. True Colorado comfort food right here. The gentlemen that I understand owns the place stopped by for a quick chat and was genuinely interested in our experience. You could tell they run a great business with a lot of their family and are happy to be a part of the community. I can't wait to take my wife back for another meal! read more

After reading reviews, always seeing the parking lot full of cars, wanted to try this place instead of our "go to after church" establishment. Don't let the outside fool you as other's have stated. Inside is nicely painted, set up, and very clean. Staff is extremely friendly, always checking on you. We arrived a bit after 7 pm, missing the dinner crowd so were seated very quickly, not busy at all for a Saturday evening, albeit a very cold and snowy one! My husband ordered The ELF, and really enjoyed it. The bacon was crispy (an issue in most places, you have to ask for that) all the layers offering great taste and texture. I had a few bites and found the chicken fried steak very tender. I usually avoid this cut of meat at restaurants because it usually is very gristly. Our son ordered the kid's cheeseburger and liked it. He also really liked the coleslaw, and he is rather picky about how the dressing is made or if too much of it on the slaw. I was trying to decide between the chicken fried chicken and cabbage burgers and went with something unique and different. Unfortunately, I was rather disappointed. Before I get into that, there was a generous amount of onion rings, beer battered and offered a much-needed crunch to this meal. I had asked if they make their own ranch dressing, which they do, and the waiter also offered their blue cheese and brought over both. And both were really good with the onion rings (and they didn't charge me for it either, which was really nice. I don't get my places feel the need to charge you for a condiment) As to the meal itself, I was disappointed first because there was virtually no flavor it was rather bland, and pretty much only tasted of bread. Secondly, it was described as two patties, but what I got was hardly any finely chopped up beef with very little onions or cabbage. I had hoped for a patty, with some cabbage you can see and bite into and some onions that again you can see and bite into. It wasn't awful, it just wasn't very tasty, nor have any texture. The Fried Oreos were a pleasant surprise, for my son he just loved them, for me, I had a few bites and enjoyed them more then I had thought. Not overly sweet at all. I may have had my hopes up a bit too much after reading all the reviews. The food is good, nice portions, very nice staff, clean floors, and tables. I guess I was hoping for WOW. We will return, there were a few other items on the menu that looked really good. And it is really nice to have a good place to eat so close to home. read more
