This is the kind of restaurant I normally wouldn't have walked into, given how slow the business appeared. However, we made a reservation based on the raving reviews and decided to give it a try. Four of us sampled four tapas dishes: crispy cauliflower, garlic saffron prawns, the daily special salad, and a clam dish. For the main course, we opted for their house paella. To our delight, every dish was outstanding. The chefs clearly use the best ingredients; the prawns were crisp and fresh, and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. Each sauce complemented the main ingredients beautifully. The rice in the paella had the perfect bite, making every mouthful a pleasure. It left me wondering why the business was slow on a Thursday night. The restaurant is located in a run-down downtown area, which might be a factor. Despite this, I sincerely hope this restaurant thrives even in a tough economy. I highly recommend visiting if you find yourself in Southern Oregon. The atmosphere at Elements is amazing, but it was the food and service that brought us back for the second night in a row. The bartender made us the most incredible gin fizz the first night after welcoming us in at a very late hour when they were almost closed. The dinner recommendations of steak skewers and Papas del Toro were brilliant and dinner was so good that we almost had both the second night when we went back. Thankfully we branched out and tried the manchego and bacon dip, the popcorn mahi mahi, the fall pork belly and the Madrid flat bread, because good lord, what fabulous amazing food. One of the only places open in Medford after 9pm. The food was amazing. I highly recommend the octopus and the saffron shrimp. Service was impeccable. On the pricier side but it makes sense considering the very high quality of food, service, and atmosphere you get here. Highly recommend. read more

To begin with their standards of Covid in dinning is very comforting and safe! Now coming to point the food is perfect right from their menu. There is no crazy 100 items to choose they serve the best of what they know and it's easy to choose and fast to get it on your table. The waitress is ultra sweet and courteous and so is the bartender. Service is just in time. The food what we ordered Beet salad - bomb ( could use more their cheese) Ceviche- bomb Diablo shrimp- uff sexy and spicy perfect when u have the salad to couple it with Saffron shrimp - is a bomb We ended it with their flan!!! COVID check: the staff is wearing masks and customers are allowed inside with a mask on board on the door. The gAbles are segregated far from other tables 6 ft a part . Only thing I noticed is The staff is not wearing gloves and no sanitizer in the entrance or near by the table . The physical menus are not wet wiped after every use . Service and staff: food was served without delay And staff checks with you timely . They helped us pick and choose the wine and meat from the menu. Food quality : amazing . I ordered three course meal and everything tasted delicious . I understand the ambience and the restaurant proximity is in pricy neighborhood . Terrible experience. They served me my entrée before my salad and did not bring any food to my guests for a very long time. Then ice cold soup served and sent back. Steak took 45 minutes to come out, not good. The service was abominable and instead of apologizing they just said that the kitchen sends food out when it is ready. I have worked in enough restaurants to know that an expediter and the server are responsible to make sure that the food goes out in the right order, that soup is hot, and to feed people at the same time. Soooo...this is where you feel like a lame for not asking your super cool bartender for his name. BUT we review no less. Mans cracked a real egg for our whiskey sour that was indeed delicious. My cousin would not shut up about it the following day. Super glad we found this place! We managed to grab a table late Saturday night, and it was some of the best food I've had in months. First, good tapas and Spanish food is always hard to find, which made this place special by itself. However, the food really was amazing for tapas. Every dish felt wayyy to small and I could of had full meals of each of the dishes. We ordered the mushrooms, potatoes, garlic shrimp, and paella. The service was super friendly, and despite having only 1-2 people on staff, they were not slow about anything. You could tell they really cared about giving way patron a great experience. Had a lovely dinner here with a group of friends! We were a bit of a raucous group and the servers were great with us. It's maybe not an ideal set up for large groups, there were only six of us and they said the booths fit five and tried to sit us at an area with coffee tables by the door... it was really not ideal though so we all squeezed into a booth, which I actually thought was fine. EVERYTHING we had here was fantastic! We had a group of six (family and friends), and shared on a meat and cheese tray to start. Then between us all, we enjoyed 2 orders of the ribs, 2 different flatbreads (Seville & Cadiz), the Mahi Mahi, the artichokes. It was ALL wonderful! Then, somebody ordered the bacon wrapped dates... I'm in utter amazement of this place. Seriously. My Wife and I are currently staying in Medford while visiting Crater Lake National Park for her bday. We got back from the park and started searching Yelp for where to have her bday dinner and this place caught her eye. It stood out because 1) It's great reviews and 2) All the ingredients they use are sourced locally. That's awesome. First and foremost, the service here is great. No complaints. We were seated immediately (we had to the joint to ourselves for the first part of the evening, admittedly), were given menus, our Waiter (Mason) described to us how it all works (we've never eaten at a Tapas Restaurant before. Basically, it's a place where you order drinks and small plates of food to share among the table). I choose the Spanish Ribs w/ Apricot glaze and the Salamanca Flat Bread. My wife ordered the Papa's De Toro w/ Poached Eggs, Ox Tail, Potato, and White Cheddar and Patatas Bravas (lightly fried Yukon Gold Potatos, smoked Paprika, and Aioli). First up were the Spanish Ribs and Patatas Bravas. Both were super delicious. The portions of the Ribs were much more generous than I had expected (bonus points!). The Patatas were fried and seasoned perfectly, however, I didn't care for the Aioli. That's just my taste preference, though. My Wife LOVED it. Our Waiter then came out and said they had cooked my flatbread a little too much and didn't want to serve it like that so he had the Chef make another one. That's HUGE to me. That tells me right there that they genuinely care about not only the taste of their food, but the presentation of it as well. In the mean time, the Papa's De Toro was brought to our table and it was amazing! Easily in the top 10 dishes I've ever eaten. That good! The meat was super tender, the potatoes were excellent, the White Truffle Oil gave it a zing, and the runny egg yolk was the cherry on top. Each ingredient on their own were good but when combined, it was out of this world. Seriously. Order this. My flatbread then came out and it was also super good. It was essentially cheese bread, but great nonetheless. The sauce they used on it contained Almonds so unfortunately, due to an allergy, my Wife was unable to enjoy this one. Just means leftovers for me, though. We then closed it out with their house made Churros with Dark Chocolate dipping sauce. The Churros were lightly fried, doused in sugar, and melted in your mouth. So, so good. It was hard for me to remember that I was in Medford and not Portland or Seattle. Elements is a true hidden gem. If you find yourself anywhere near Medford, you need to do yourself a favor and enjoy your dinner here. You won't regret it! I know we didn't. read more

Wow, what a treat! The food here is fantastic, and service is super friendly even when they're slammed (and looked like short-staffed). We tried the charcuterie plate, bread, beet salad, ceviche, paprika potatoes, and pork belly. The beet salad was so fresh and bursting with flavor, and perfectly dressed. The charcuterie plate was awesome, although I did wish it came with either crackers or crostini or something bready (which is why we ordered the side of bread). Potatoes were amazing and not to be missed, and the pork belly came with an amazing red wine sauce. Like I said earlier, the staff was very busy but still did a great job being attentive and getting everything we needed. 5 stars for service alone! read more

COVID TIME REVIEW This place is a nice bar/restaurant that's a good scene for a casual date night. I came here after a nice long hike and was dying for some good food. I was seated after a short wait and saw that they were taking precautions with their indoor seating in light of COVID. While the seating was quite far apart, one of the waitresses would come up a bit too close to comfort when she was talking at our table/taking our orders. She and the bartender, however, were both quite friendly and professional. The restaurant itself has some really good dishes and some more sub par dishes. I highly recommend the duck dish, I wish I had gotten two more of it. I would rate that dish a 10/10, best duck I've ever eaten. I also got the calamari appetizer, which was an 8/10, pretty damn good but not the best I've ever had. The reason for the lower stars is because of the Seafood Paella dish we ordered, I would give that dish a 2/10... for a restaurant whose main entrees are the Paella's, I was so disappointed. There was very little flavor in the paella and it didn't taste like a traditional paella should taste. For the price and the amount of time it took to cook it (45 minutes, which they stated on the menu), I was so disappointed. I would have much rather gotten 3 dishes of their different small bites like the duck or even tried the steak skewers rather than get that Paella again. I would recommend you try the tapas/small dishes at this restaurant and not the paella! If not for that I would've given this place a 4 star at least. The drinks were also really tasty! I got a sangria and my boyfriend got a Moscow mule, both tastefully made. Too bad the paella was so disappointing :( I would still want to try this place again if I come back to the area! Wow, who would have thought that one of my best meals in a while would have been while stopping in Medford? Elements Tapas really delivered on an excellent meal. We started with a house salad that was fresh and tasty. On to the Garlic Saffron Prawns, which I could have had 3 orders of and not gotten tired of them! The flavors were subtle and well done. The Pinchos Morunos came out next, and the taste of the pork was flavorful and the seasoning once again was not overpowering. Very tasty with each bite. The final dish was the Paps de Toro. Woohoo. So tasty. The meat flavor mixed with the egg yolk and potatoes was just superb. Kudos to the chef on this entire meal. I could not have asked for a better meal and saw no room for improvement. What a disappointment given all the positive reviews, which makes me question the integrity of the review process. The one- and two-star reviews are more accurate. We went there for the paella and ordered the seafood version. It was bland, bland, bland! It was a weakly seasoned rice dish topped with tasteless seafood. The rice was yellow, so there might have been a speck of saffron in it, but if you are familiar with traditional Spanish paella, this wasn't even close. The best way I can describe the server is "indifferent." A couple of times when she had to pass by our table, she asked us "You guys doing OK?" as she continued to walk away and ignore our response. After a long 13 hour day of driving, we finally got to Medford. One of the few places open still was Element of Tapas. We ordered the Bravas, Calamari, and some Rose wine. Our first night in the Medford area, Great experience! They know what they are doing. Beet salad with arugula, Garlic Prawns with Saffron, papas Bravas ( maybe the best I have had outside of Spain) and Bacon wrapped Dates stiffed with Chorizo. Everything was Great. Unsuspecting hole in the wall restaurant in Medford that turned out to be one of the best meals I've had in a long time. While the decor is more reminiscent of a bar/pub, the food is on the level of fine dining, so be prepared to pay appropriate prices. We decided to order the Papas De Toro (seeing its immense popularity on Yelp) and a black paella to share. The food took quite a while so we later also ordered a $1 side of bread which is just 5 thin slices of a baguette. Papas De Toro: Braised beef oxtail and fried potato wedges over a bed of wilted frisee with an option of additional poached eggs on top. The first time they brought it out, the poached eggs were overcooked, but they were nice enough to redo the dish for us. WOW, it was really really good! Almost tastes like poutine, but much more flavorful and refined. The potato wedges were crisp, but not dry the beef was amazingly tender and flavorful, soaking up the rich yolk from the poached eggs. Reminded me of a similar dish I had at a high end restaurant in LA. Black paella: this is a dish where every bite tastes better than the previous. It's not described on the menu, but the paella has a distinct smokiness to it that grows on you (if you are open to it). Although they weren't very generous with the seafood, the richness and depth of flavors in the paella was more than enough to make up for it. The addictive experience was indescribable! While it says on the menu that it feeds 3-4, I would say that it's closer to 1-2 if ur a dude like me with a decent appetite. read more
