My husband gifted me a $200, 90-minute massage for Christmas, and I was really looking forward to it. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The massage therapist repeatedly yawned throughout the session, which made it hard to relax. The massage itself did not feel attentive or high quality. The appointment also started late and ended early--what was supposed to be a 90-minute massage lasted closer to 70 minutes. At checkout, I was asked about joining a membership or booking another massage, but given my experience, I chose not to say anything at the time and instead leave this review. You know you're in the wrong area when the doors are locked because there is so many homeless people around and it's in a shady neighborhood. So much for relaxing when you walk in to get a massage. And worst of all, this super "woke" place is still requiring you to wear a mask...why would I want to wear a hot, uncomfortable mask when I'm trying to relax and get a massage. I'm not impressed with the location, nor the mask policy here and I will not be back. So my massage itself was decent at best. The massage wasn't great, it seemed like the guy didn't really want to be...he said he opened his schedule that morning because he needed the money. I had asked for mainly my back, shoulders and neck because that's why I came in. He did those spots, but then I was on on my back about half the time and he massaged my arms, which I didn't need to all. Point being, he didn't really listen to my needs. And after the massage usually they wait for you, bring you some water and talk about "problem spots," but I didn't see this guy at all. Less than impressed overall. read more

I've never been to massage clinic that you pay for 90 min and they take off 10 min for a "debrief" before and after the massage. Which only took 30 seconds not ten minutes. Additionally, I purchased two one hour massage gift cards. They only had a 90 min available so I booked that. After the massage I was told i would be loosing the additional half hour left over on the gift card because they could not split the gift card. I did not purchase a massage coupon I purchased a gift card. So that was very disappointing, especially in this economy. The massage was about a 3/5. The masseuse needs to use more lotion, it felt like he was ripping my skin from the friction of dry skin. read more

I've had some good massages at Elements Greenlake, Bellevue - especially great with Kayla, and in Lake Oswego. I bought a membership and needed to pause it. Today I learned that I lost the 3 sessions that had already been purchased because I didn't use them within 60 days. I'm really BUMMED! This was my first time getting a massage and Chris was so kind and really made me feel comfortable.

Pay for 90 minutes, get maybe 70 minutes, and sometimes ~40 minutes. It's standard that they book you for 90 minutes, but the staff screw around for about 10 minutes on either side of that and only get you an actual massage for maybe 70 minutes. But the latest session was even worse. I had a massage booked for 1:00 PM, and got a call at 12:10 that I was late for my appointment. I checked e-mail and texts, and there was no notification that the time had changed to 12:00. I asked about it at the front desk, and they said I "must have turned off e-mail notifications on my online profile". That's B.S., as I had gotten a previous confirmation 3 weeks earlier, and don't have an "online profile" where I would have (or could have) turned off the notifications. The actual massage was fine, but the booking difficulty is absurd, and the staff are just dismissive if you have an issue. read more

I got an awesome massage today! The location is excellent-it is close to everything. I am so impressed with how they are handling COVID precautions. They text you to confirm you are coming/if you have any symptoms, they check your paperwork and take your temperature before going in. Hand sanitizers everywhere, clean and dirty pen holders, masks required. It was so clean! I love that they have gender neutral bathrooms (which were also spotless), A+++ for being a welcoming and safe space. I received a massage from Rachel today, and I have already booked another appointment. Her communication was awesome, and I could ask her basically anything (I am fairly new to getting massages so it was really nice to just ask what was on my mind). The room was so warm, dark and inviting. During the massage where your face is down, you can have your mask either off or just draped down, and when you go face up, of course it would return to being where it should be (I am writing this in a time of COVID, so). I feel brand new. The front desk was professional and nice. I would HIGHLY recommend. Treat yourself! I've been an Elements member for years, and upon moving to Seattle I was ecstatic that there was one close to where I was living. Unfortunately this location has been nothing but mistake after mistake. Schedule for one time, and they move you around by 15 minutes with no explanation and then tell you you are mistaken despite having the email showing what time you scheduled. They have told me I am not a "real" member and have to pay non-member prices, then send me on a run-around with other locations to figure out what's wrong with my membership, only for the other locations to tell me it's their mistake and they never should have had me call, this location should have called the others to sort it out internally. It just sounds like this location isn't run well and the receptionists are snarky and insincere when you ask for answers. Scheduling a service here is next to impossible, as they are of course always booked out weeks and weeks. At least the environment is always clean, and most of the therapists have been very good. Overall, I may be better off finding a new massage place, which I hate after having long-standing membership and rapport with this company. read more

I have come to this place for the past year and have had 10+ massages here. However, today I had to give a one star review because I am supposed to have a massage with a new therapist at the scheduled time 4:15pm. I arrived early and then at 4:25pm I was still sitting there waiting for my therapist! I talked to the front desk, and the front desk was just like "ok he is late, but he will give you the whole 50mins massage when he is ready!" First thing: remember although you scheduled a one hour session the actual massage only takes 50mins. As they said, the other 10mins are for you to undress and dress yourself. Clearly we need to pay for our own time in order to undress and dress! Secondly, clearly they don't value their members' time! "We will give you full 50mins" Members waiting there and wasting their own time means nothing to them! In the end: the WORST massage I have ever had! Guess what? I started at 4:30pm but ended promptly at 5:15pm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thus, I canceled my membership! Just wanted to share my experience with everyone here. You make your own decision! read more

We had a lovely first experience and bought the membership to come back. The second session was a big, big disappointment. Massage - actual massage was good, but the massage therapist was hostile to my questions about massages. I was told to "go home and do my own research", and "to stop questioning and enjoy the massage". I came to relax but this hostile encounter only made me more tense. I wish masseur P(xxxx) would give us a heads up that he prefers quiet sessions. Front desk - very rude. They were very dismissive when I raised concerns about the treatment I received. Staff E(xxx)a & T(xxx)y assumed that I had used somebody else's appointment and used that to justify the poor service that I received. I later called to get their name, which they gave and then abruptly hung up. I wish T(xxx)y would refrain from blaming the customer when the booking process itself is vague. Online booking process - needs serious improvement. There are times you will see 1 hour availabilities on the website, but it's actually a 90 minute block on the therapist's calendar. I had to reschedule numerous times over the phone because of that. Also, the online booking process doesn't ask some very important questions (e.g. who's getting the massage) which leads to misunderstandings. I hope this booking service can be overhauled. read more

If not for recent concerns, I would give them 4+ stars. The staff are very professional. It's not a spa experience, but the rooms are quiet and well-maintained if somewhat generic. The three practitioners I've had were all very capable, respectful, and had varied techniques that really helped my back. So why the two stars? 1) Their membership price just went up 12 percent. My salary didn't. 2) They must be horribly understaffed, or over-sold, because it has become impossible to find an appointment for AT LEAST two weeks in advance, and sometimes a month in advance (especially if you have a preferred practitioner). 3) Recently when I actually snagged an appointment with my preferred provider, they called to cancel it - blaming me (instead of their booking system) for signing up for a 60 minute massage during a "90 min slot". (You can't even do this without the booking system showing you the slot.) So then I had to wait even longer to find a new appointment that fit my schedule. 4) When I inquired about the poor availability and whether I should just cancel, I was reminded of their 30 day cancellation policy. After a week of deliberation, they say they're going to hold me to this policy, despite the lack of available appointments. This was the final straw. The membership may seem like a good idea at first, but if you don't want to be locked into a place that never has appointments when you need them, look elsewhere. The staff are nice, professional, and helpful, the "sorry...it's policy!" excuse makes it seem you're just a cash cow for them. Shame on them for charging for a "membership" to a service they can't even deliver. read more

(This was the first massage I have ever received) A few years ago I had pretty strong shoulder and neck pain. Probably due to poor posture and drawing/sitting in the same positions for long durations. I had no expectations coming in, but Herman did an amazing job on my shoulders and neck. I got the deep tissue massage and it was honestly the first time I ever felt relief in a long, long time. The massage therapists are always great here. They are friendly, engaged, and do a great job every time. The place is always clean and they take the needed precautions to make me feel COVID safe. As others have mentioned, their website and availability of therapists is terrible. The website is so incredibly slow. It's poorly designed and not very intuitive. You can't even log on until your pick your home location. I generally need to book 6 weeks out to find an available therapist. Not sure if that's the website being a jerk or there really is that limited availability. Lastly, the therapists cancel. A lot. We never know why but it's happened several times to me and people I know who go there. So if you are ok working with a poor website and waiting a long time for a good therapist, Elements will do just fine. read more

Amazing... I'll definitely be back for another massage with Suki. The bf bought me a LivingSocial gift for Valentine's Day and it was super great. It was for an 80-minute massage, but I really think the 55-minute would've been sufficient. I won't lie. I was a little hesitant about checking this place out because it's a chain, but I was very pleasantly surprised. Pros: - Clean and simple lobby - Bottled water for clients to take to go - Heated beds - Excellent customer service - Deep tissue expertise - Suki; she was super great! She really honed in on my sore spots and recommended a few stretches afterwards. - I felt immediately relaxed afterwards, and this rarely happens. Cons: - For me, I wasn't a fan of the head massage, but some people might enjoy it. I'll ask to exclude this part next time. - Parking was very difficult... there are only like three spots in their tiny parking lot, so just try for street parking instead. I then got a call at my appointment time asking where I was. I was told I would be charged for my massage. I've been.on a cash diet post-Christmas/New Year...so I figured this would be the best time to put a $52 for 80 min massage deal that from a daily deal site to use. After several calls (the first 2-3 times, noone picked up..so I had to keep leaving voicemails), I was set up an appoitnment for the 80 min deep tissue massage. The place is clean. It's not an upscale spa but more like a functional, reasonable place to get a decent massage. The massage was ok. It was relaxing (and I kept drifting in and out of sleep) but not as deep as I had hoped. My male mssage therapist was definitely very polite and courteous and didn't make me feel awkward being unclothed under the sheets like a few experiences I had at other places with a male therapist. Also, make sure you check/know the price you need to pay. It seems there are many pricing structures at this place (deal sites, membership, full-price, etc) as they quoted me 3 different prices (the first 2 prices were wrong, so I had to ask them to redo the charges again before they finally got it right the 3rd time). read more

Overall a 2 star experience at Elements. I had purchased a 90 minute massage for my partner for their birthday and they had booked a 60 minute full body massage and had 30 minutes remaining. They called and elements said they could transfer the remaining 30 minutes to me. I went in and they had said the booking was changed and that Chris would see me. The massage started late and ended early. I had asked to focus on my lower back and he spent most of the time on my upper back. Ultimately a good massage but on exiting they told me that they couldn't apply the other 30 minutes to my massage so I payed full price. Chris was great but unfortunate that they told my partner they could transfer the massage but actually couldn't because of their systems. Please fix your system or tell people honestly that you cannot transfer to someone else. Ended up spending over $100 and my partner needs to go back and use the other 30 minutes still. read more

Pluses: Anders is amazing - I have chronic neck pain and he finds it and slays it each visit Jeanie (sp?)- I took my mom with sciatic pain to see here when she was visiting from out of town. Jeanie worked on her sciatic nerve and my mom is convinced this changed her life from debilitating pain to a livable thing. Wow. One drawback:They hand out small, disposable plastic water bottles if you want after a massage. Please do not contribute to our single use plastic problem, maybe sell an "Elements" branded BPA-free reusable water bottle or include in each new membership such to help clients hydrate. Visited on a Groupon and it was the best 90 mins of my weekend. So relaxing that I almost fell asleep on the massage table! John S was my masseuse and he made me feel comfortable immediately. Not gonna lie, after the whole Massage Envy scandal, I was a bit nervous to visit a chain massage center, but Elements was great. Very professional receptionists and masseuses work here. John started off by asking where to concentrate the massage and I requested my shoulders/upper back. He did a wonderful job there as well as on my lower body where I'm usually quite ticklish.
