I started seeing Dr. Rachel Whyte in July 2023, and have been attending therapy regularly ever since. I was in a terrible place then, I had already been in PT for over a year to try to help my hip bursitis. I had failed three different physical therapists and was in an incredible amount of pain when I called Flourish. Due to my chronic illnesses, conventional PT did not help me and it made me worse, despite my best efforts. It's been a long difficult journey to figure it out, but after dealing with mysterious chronic health issues most of my life, I discovered that I have a neurological disorder called Dysautonomia, and my comorbidities include hypermobile EDS, MCAS, HS, Fibromyalgia, POTS, and many more. I know I am not an easy patient to treat, my pain issues make it difficult at times to understand which body part hurts, and I can't always describe what I am going through, and it is hard to figure out which illness causes which symptoms. It took many months with Dr. Rachel before I was able to open up about everything, but as I started telling her more, she showed interest and looked for solutions, and she never gaslit me or anything like that. She believed me, and never looked for a scapegoat to avoid treating me (like anxiety). Dr. Rachel has helped me so much, I mean it when I say my life has taken a 360 turn in about nine months, in regards to my pain. She recommended another doctor who gave me a chance, and they prescribed me medications that were life changing. She also recommended I begin light massage therapy with Kim, a provider at Flourish. I didn't realize this was even an option, because I can't handle deep tissue massage. Kim's massage sessions have benefitted me so much, that they are now a part of my regular care routine. Dr. Rachel talks with me at length during our appointments, and has identified many things that I have been doing that have been making me worse, or causing injury. This is the type of help I need, as someone with severe hypermobility in my joints. I have experienced a lot of improvements, but the fact remains that I will need much more time, we're talking years, to get my health back. But I know I finally have a team better suited to help me get there. If you are suffering from similar rare illnesses, you know how hard it is to find care in Seattle. I highly recommend Dr. Rachel to the Dysautonomia community. She was the first person to point out that I have an unstable pelvis and lower lumbar spine, keep in mind I maintain at least ten doctors who handle my care. No one noticed it was the cause of so much pain. Dr. Rachel does much more than what you would expect from a D.C. She gave me exercises and physical therapy stretches that truly address my problems. She performs focused muscle work on my legs which is so amazing for relieving my nerve pain, she uses cupping on my back which improves my blood flow, and she works hard to find treatments that work for me. If you're experiencing aches, pains and misalignment like me, Flourish is a mighty good place to get back on track. I was referred initially by a highly experienced Seattle PT to Kelly Perona, Flourish's owner. She is a good listener, knowledgeable and thorough, with a practiced touch as a chiropractor. I soon switched for scheduling reasons to Sean, a gentle giant who is no longer there. Lately on Kelly's recommendation I went to see Rachel, who is known known for giving the clinic's deepest treatments. Her massage and alignments sure work for me. It's convenient that Flourish is open on Sundays (when street parking is free). Practitioners are prompt. Reception is friendly. Show up a bit early the first time to allow minutes for finding parking and figuring out the lobby door and elevator. I wish the providers took Medicare, but that may be out of their control. I find it worthwhile to just pay in full. I feel relaxed and taller walking out the door. read more

Love this place so much. I first saw Dr. Bri, she was kind, patient and calm. I enjoyed my treatment sessions with her until I moved away from Capitol Hill. I don't have a car so I found another chiropractor in the new area, however after 2 months, I decided to go back to Flourish. I then saw Dr. Kelly (Dr. Bri no longer works here), another great doctor. I have been receiving treatment from Dr. Rachel for almost half a year now, and I like her treatment style and she always provided me useful tips for stretching and relaxing. What I liked the most about my visit here was everyone here was so nice, not only doctors but also the billing lady and receptionist. They are all so welcoming and remember everyone's name and schedule. The doctors I have seen try to understand my concerns and my lifestyle, they are just like a friend of mine. Dr. Kelly is amazing! I had a massive back spasm that put me on the floor not being able to move due to the pain, like my intestines were turning inside out. I went to Dr. Kelly on my wife's recommendation and she did not disappoint. After she carefully listened to what I was feeling she had had a look at the way I stood and knew what needed to be done. After my first treatment, which felt incredible and got right to the source of the pain, I was sent home I with links to videos on how to stretch my back. You know when have too much going on in your life, sleep poorly, stare at your computer and keyboard all day, fake smile during meetings you don't need to be at, and binge eat energy bars...And then one day you wake up and years have gone by, your shoulders seem like they're attached to your ears, your back hurts, your breathing is shallow, and and you can't remember what it was like to even wake up "feeling like a million bucks?" Yeah, so that was me like a year and half ago, and I decided I had ENOUGH. It was time to take charge and actually break the burnout pattern. To help manage the stress in my body, I decided to invest in a few things: - Regular chiropractic adjustments - Medical massages - Meal planning - Vegan ice cream I started seeing Dr. Kelly first for chiro, and when I realized that they would also take my insurance for massages, it felt like I found my new third home (don't want to make work envious since I used to be there ALL THE TIME.) First off, the office is this serene surprise in the heart of Capital Hill. As soon as I walked in, I felt like I was in a spa. Gina at the front desk was the most welcoming and accommodating, and honestly knew more about my insurance than me...Still does! Dr. Kelly was able to easily help me identify where my pain was coming from, and also provided exercise and posture suggestions to help me manage the pain outside of the office. Dr. Kelly is awesome at adjustments, a great communicator, and with Covid, takes all the precautions to help patients like me feel safe and healthy. I worked with Owl for medical massages, and I kind of like that I wasn't able to get them in the same day (insurance won't let me!), this way I was able to be in a zone for an adjustment or the zone for a massage. Owl is extremely attentive and focused and makes sure I am also comfortable, warm enough, and aware of what is going on. Owl also has the best laugh int he world and helps me feel more relaxed. I'm lucky, and my insurance covers like 18 massages a year! I've since moved across town further away from Flourish, and you know what, I still drive to Capital Hill for my chiro and massage appointments....And not just because Frankie and Jo's is nearby, but because Dr. Kelly, Owl, and staff have been there with and for me during some of the most stressful times of my life here in Seattle. I had such an amazing first session with Dr. Kelly. First off, I felt so welcome, I was running late but both Dr. Kelly and the receptionist were really kind about it. Secondly, Dr. Kelly was so observant, caring, and gentle (she used to be a pediatric chiropractor!). I could tell she was on my team from the start. I'm really excited to work with her! I've been going to Flourish regularly for almost a year. I work a desk job so my whole back gets screwed up, my posture also gets misaligned. When I first saw Kelly for a check up and alignment, I felt so much better; as if I was in a new body. Kelly is an expert at anatomy, musculature and bones; and with care, she knows how to make you feel at ease during appointments. I also exercise quite regularly, so my muscles gets sore and tight. My shoulders have experienced tearing in the past, so it gets flared up once in a while. So I go to Owl for medical massages. They are extremely understanding and expert at their craft. Zero tension is left every time I leave the spa. Flourish is my recommendation for any needs, whether its a complete checkup on your posture and alignment. I love Dr. Kelly! I have seen her for now over 3 years! I have finally decided to leave my review here because I've always had exceptional service here. I threw out my back on a Sunday several years ago, she made time for me at the end of her day to see me. I have been back since for routine care or just when I need a tune up. I even make the drive from west Seattle since I no longer live in the neighborhood. I even drove to her second location in Fremont! I was actually just called today because of their cancellation call list for a massage!!!! I got a massage because Dr. Kelly is amazing and put me on her cancellation list for her therapist! I can't remember there name but they were amazing!! Lastly, if you have never had chiropractic care, this is your place. She is gentle, she does a muscle based adjustment and uses hot stones to relax my back before she works. I know people have weird things to say about chiropractors, but Dr. Kelly is so beyond the norm in the most positive way possible. read more

So the reason I came to Flourish Chiropractic was because I had gotten a Living Social deal for a hot stone chiropractic adjustment & massage. And I was totally blown away by how fabulous it was! First of all, is there really anything better than a hot stone massage? Love it!!! Then a chiropractic adjustment, which is always so beneficial for my back. The combo is dynamite! Dr Kristie is extremely knowledgeable and also very gentle. I never had that moment of anxiety that I do with some chiro's right before they are about to crack your neck or back. The place is easy to find and I even found free parking just a couple blocks away on Capital Hill. Very comfy waiting area. And since you schedule an appointment there really is no wait. Made a next day appointment via the phone for a 60 minute massage. I made sure beforehand to call my insurance that they did cover 60 min massages. I didn't quite have a doctor's note, but did have documentation of my doctor's referral and they accepted that! I got my massage from Marie, who was great at listening to my problem areas and explaining what she was planning to do. The massage is different from a typical one you'd get at a spa as they really focus intense pressure on your problem spots, so it's not as relaxing. But it was great to really work on those knots I've had for a long time. I definitely feel somewhat better now. I also had a chiropractor assessment with Dr. Kelly, who was so friendly, nice and informative. She realigned my spine with a few twists and gave me helpful advice on how to correct my posture. I already have my next massage appointment booked with a referral from her and would definitely recommend! read more

One of the best massages I've ever had! My back and head were bothering me after a spurt of migraines. I was lucky enough to get a last minute appointment here for a 60 minute massage. The building is older and undergoing renovations, but the inside of the spa office space was cozy and inviting. My appointment was with Sean who did a comprehensive and timely check in at the beginning for focus areas and to walk me through the treatment. Massage was very deep but exactly what I needed. Found Dr Kelly thru Yelp as we are visiting Seattle while on our boat. I had tremendous pain in my hip. She worked me in after a day. Treatment was thorough and she took her time evaluating and performing various techniques to isolate and treat me. After 1 visit I was doing much better. She did a follow up on Sunday (again moving things around to make time) and the progress was fantastic. I can not say enough good things about Dr Kelly and Flourish. I was transferred to someone who gave me great details about each provider as I wasn't sure if I needed a massage or chiropractic. She explained things in a way I could understand. I was nervous because I haven't had great experiences with chiropractors. She is very different. I was pleasantly surprised. Let me start by saying that historically, I have been extremely dubious of chiropractic. I have had a few bizarre and unhelpful experiences that lead me to be more than hesitant about the practice in general. I was recommended to Dr. Kristi at Flourish specifically by my dance teacher and a few colleagues who said that her work was phenomenal. Reluctantly, I went and found that they had not steered me wrong. After about 4 visits however, Kristi informed me that she was leaving the practice. What was a girl to do?! I continued with the practice and transferred to Dr. Kelly Perona, Kristi's hand-selected replacement. I have been so impressed by Dr. Kelly and her work and I have found the transition to be smooth and satisfying. Kelly has a warm bedside manner and is a skilled and knowledgeable practitioner. I highly recommend her and the practice at Flourish Chiropractic. Belated addition: I began seeing massage therapist, Isak Swearingen through Flourish as well and I highly recommend him also. Testament to his skills? I went three days barely able to move my neck and in less than a minute, Isak brought my head and neck back to full range of motion. AMAZING! I have been to a few chiropracters and massage therapists but this place is the best I have experienced thus far! I have been dealing with a very sore back for the past few weeks, have been having headaches, and after my visit this week for the first time, I look forward to coming back again in the future. My seven-year stint in the restaurant industry left me with chronic tension, tightness, knots and aches in my upper back, neck and shoulders--I call it "Tray Arm." Ouch. I had my first visit with Dr. Kristi about a week and a half ago, and I am feeling so, so much better than I have in years. She pinpointed areas of stress that I didn't even realize were associated with the strain in my shoulders, and made some good recommendations for ways to alleviate it. But let's get to the really good part: the hot stone massage. Holy moly. I tend to go to shy away from female massage therapists--I need a ton of pressure and strong hands to bust up the tension--but Dr. Kristi knows how to massage with some muscle. Add in hot stones for extra relaxation and pressure, and it's the best de-stresser ever. Some people might find the cracking and popping of adjustments weird, but I loved it, and felt amazing after. I've heard other people's stories about chiropractors that pressure them into buying huge packages of visits. Not so with Dr. Kristi. She was up-front about the level of maintenance my back will require, the results I can expect, and how I can treat it best by combining chiro and deep tissue massage with a LMT. Seven years of back abuse doesn't just go away overnight, but she's given me hope that it can be way, way better. Needless to say, I will be back for more adjustments and massage. read more

A quick consultation, adjustment & recommendation of ice & ibuprofen had me back to work in no time. She even popped a rib back in place that I had no idea was out & found the source of my shooting headaches. She's incredibly skilled & knowledgeable. I've referred everyone, including MY mom to her. I have been going to see Dr. Kristi Smith for over a year and I've decided it's time to review her business Flourish Chiropractic Spa. First of all, the doctor is highly skilled and gives me great relief. I've been to over a dozen doctors of chiropractic from here to Chicago and she is absolutely one of the best. As a nice perk she makes sure that she or one of her massage therapists massages you for about 15 minutes prior to the adjustment. What could be better? Today I tried their new massage therapist Cynthia. She is strong enough to do deep tissue work for a full hour, and she clearly has a gameplan when working on a muscle group. She's not one of those people who just rubs you down aimlessly in hopes that it will feel good. I felt like in a one-hour massage she was really able to address some of the longstanding issues in my neck and shoulders. read more
