Okay, let me start by saying that we have been to many, many chiropractors in our years and have experienced a variety of techniques and styles. We can confidently say, without a doubt, that Dr. Tara at Bodhi is by far the BEST. No one is more caring, more knowledgeable, or more thorough than her! Most chiropractor appointments that we've been to in the past it's all about the quick 10-15 appointment: completed with a brief explanation of the pain...a little snap, crackle, pop on the table...come back in a few days if it still hurts...and call it a day. On to the next patient. Not so with Dr. Tara. She takes the time needed to get a full understanding of not just the area of your body that hurts, but how your entire body if feeling and working; and how all of that plays into what's hurting. She focuses on whole body wellness and regularly completes exams on how your muscles and nerves are working "for" you instead of "against" you. Her style during an adjustment appointment is also different and wonderful. She can have up to 6 patients in the exam area at one time; and she'll move from person to person making adjustments and caring for your body. This is a great way to do it, as the time that she's working on another patient gives your body time to relax and recoup from the adjustment she just gave you. No quick rapid fire work on your body. Dr. Tara listens and works her magic every time and never rushes through just to get you on your way! If it takes longer than anticipated, than that's what it takes. Was another amazing visit today! I walked 500,000 steps in March (a family challenge) and had aches and pains in my feet and knees. Tara did my normal adjustment, and then checked these specific places, realigned me, even in places I didn't feel the pain as intensely. She also taught me how to relax my 3 areas through breathing. Everything about this place is a dream come true. I've been looking to find a chiropractor who's more in alignment (pun intended ) and I'm so grateful I've found this team of awesome humans. I've been receiving chiropractic care consistently for a couple years and the way Dr. Tara works is incredibly unique using a more gentle, feminine approach to activate your body's own intelligence of optimal alignment. With every visit I notice a shift. I notice dormant parts of my being activate. I can feel that what was once stagnant is now fluid. Where I was previously contracting I am now spacious. Often some of the most seemingly subtle moments create the biggest changes and that's exactly what I'm starting to see. In my previous experience with chiropractic I received a quick and forceful adjustment which I'm sure was helpful, but it all happened so fast it more or less felt shocking to my system. From my observation the adjustment wasn't received by my body in a way that allowed for me to consciously become an active participant in this healing process. Dr Tara is the best! I didn't know much about chiropractor prior to coming to Bodhi, and I have to admit that I was more than a little bit skeptical. With that said, I have had a pretty severe anterior pelvic tilt for most of my life, and this has led to significant lower back pain, as well as perpetually degrading posture as my whole body has had to compensate. Most significantly, I hold a tremendous amount of tension in my neck and shoulders. I've been seeing Dr. Tara for 3 months now after my car and I were pinballed between a truck and a street curb. Spent a lot of time researching local chiropractors because I needed to make sure that whomever I chose would have a gentle approach (so as to not trigger the near constant "protect" response from whiplash) as well as have my best intentions and recovery in mind. The moment I walked into Bodhi was instant comfort and I knew I'd made the right decision. Joy at the front desk is warm and always helpful, the office itself feels incredibly soothing, the tables which you lay on are so comfortable that patients often drift off into a quick nap (seriously, you hear light snoring at least weekly, ha), and I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Tara. The assessment tests are a fascinating read into both the health and unease in your body, and aids Dr Tara in directing you in your course of action. Then during treatment/adjustments, her calm and care have never failed to result in me walking out of the office feeling better than I walked in AND like I am making the baby steps necessary to be the healthiest that I can be. Side note: I'm a FT nanny of three children under age 6 and have yet to get sick or even a sore throat since beginning to get adjustments, which is truly saying something! Post-accident, I regretfully listened to others and wasted a few months between two physical therapy offices in hopes for changes that ended up small and ultimately stagnated. After turning to Dr. Tara, I finally know that I am in the most capable hands and that I will eventually feel whole again. I have had hip, joint, neck and back pain since I was 16 (now 29). I had never been to a Chiropractor before that didn't HURT.
