It's not just his effective treatments; it's the obviously sincere concern for what's going on in my body, mind, and spirit that make Jeremy such a special provider. On many occasions, through his compassionate intake interviews, he's gotten information out of me that resulted in his treating additional issues beyond what I had in mind when I showed up. He has a calm and comforting bedside manner; the healing begins when he starts talking. Based on my interactions with the front desk and him, and the reviews to date, I suspect that it would be the same with any provider there. read more

Big fan of Kjersti. Been going to her for a decade. Great technique and a great option for those wanting to try acupuncture for the first time! read more

I live in Green Lake and was originally hoping to locate an acupuncturist in my neighborhood, but after finding nearby options to be lackluster, I eventually landed on Zen Attitude based on their positive reviews and overall business presentation (quality website, easy of booking, etc.). I'm so happy I opted to go a little further, as Daniel has been absolutely fantastic and I anticipate continuing to work with him indefinitely. He's clearly knowledgable about his craft, but breaks things down in way that's easy to understand for those new to the practice. He's one of those people that's truly meant to be a medical professional and I'd recommend anyone considering acupuncture book a session with him with confidence. read more

My first acupuncture experience years ago was underwhelming but I'm glad I found this place & Mary. She works with me every session with great care and attention to my problem areas and it was my first time feeling the muscle spasm / twitching with acupuncture. Pretty magical. Plus clean facility and friendly staff. I always take the best naps here read more

They did not file on my insurance and did not notify me for a full year, now that I do not have the same insurance or the supplemental insurance i had at the time that would have fully covered their services they are sending me collections notices and harassing me with phone calls. Very disappointed, their negligence and inability to file within a timely manner is now putting me in a position to pay for something insurance would have covered. read more

Beware of unethical billing practices. Zen did not notify me of an outstanding balance due for almost two years despite their claims otherwise (yet I still received automated birthday and marketing messages). When I went to immediately pay the balance through their online system after receiving a collections notification, it was marked as "paid." Additionally, the amount due through their online system was $50 higher than the amount stated on the collections notice. read more

This place is the best! Everyone is incredibly friendly, and Dan has been a major part of my recovery journey. Amazing 1st experience. I have a chronic back problem and it was acting up bad. A single treatment and I had positive immediate results. I will visit every time I come through Seattle. This is what the doctor was born to do. I love doing business with people that knew what they wanted to be at an early age. Do your self a favor and go. If you've never done acupuncture then this is the place to try it. read more

Great outcomes overall, though the front desk experience could be better. When I first arrived, no one was at reception. The staff are often on the phone when patients are leaving, but I don't mind. However, I did have one concerning incident where acupuncture was done on the wrong leg; I was told the practitioner was dyslexic. read more

I have now been under the extremely caring, professionally excellent treatment protocols of acupuncturist, Jeremy Frieling, for over a year, now, and couldn't be happier. My health is the best it's ever been, largely due to my being to get treatments with both needles and tuning forks (Acutonics) from Jeremy most weeks since April, 2024. Jeremy is kind, respectful, attentive, creative and steady. I feel safe, well-cared-for, and supported with all my health goals in every session. Jeremy also recommended me to his educational portal. He took the time to create and specifically put in acupressure, Ji Gong, massage, and other modalities for me to add to his treatments, and the site provides explanations and examples in the form of text and videos. I can do all of these when I'm home and they are all helping me be healthier as well. It even has dietary info and recommendations, which I appreciate. He has helped me with reducing difficult symptoms and problems with allergies, digestion, lower back pain, sleep disturbances, rashes, and many other minor ailments as well as my overall health in my almost 71 YO body. I have a 2-year-old granddaughter whom I see weekly, and I ride public transportation almost daily. While she and many I encounter have had many respiratory infections in the last year, I have not had ANY. I know this evasion of illness is due to Jeremy's assistance with my health. Whether you are new to or experienced with these healthcare options, I highly recommend you see Jeremy at Zen Attitude. You'll be glad you did. read more

My experience at Zen Attitude Acupuncture has been the most superior experience I have had with acupuncture in Seattle. I see Dr. Cheyne Valentine and cannot recommend enough. Out of the four providers I have met with over the last 18 months or so throughout Seattle, he has been the best. Why? His bed side manor is great - calming energy, positive energy, and very ZEN! Additionally, he takes the time to connect prior to the treatment to understand what is happening with the mind and body to guide his treatments. My body has always responded pretty well to treatments - but my body has been responding the best from Cheyne. I am about six treatments in writing this and will be seeing Cheyne 2X a week or so for the forseeable future. I have also seen Dr. Joey for a wellness shot (Serenity Now). Just once, though will be back for more and highly recommend him as well based on the 15 minutes or so we spent together. read more

I had a great experience with Katie Pierce. She was professional, caring and listened to my concerns. The session was smooth and painless. The stress reduction and better sleep protocols she performed really relaxed me. So much so, I fell asleep! I've been a longtime Yelper, but my experience was so good that I had to leave a review. I've always been curious about acupuncture but felt anxious about trying it. The team made me feel at ease and took the time to understand the areas I wanted to focus on. Katie walked me through each step of the process, explained the tools they'd be using, and most importantly, set clear expectations and ongoing treatment. Initially, I went in for constant fatigue and writing this review three weeks later, my energy levels are higher than I can remember. If you are worried about needles, Katie made the treatment as pain free as possible and reassured me that my comfort was their top priority and encouraged me to speak up at any time if I felt uncomfortable. read more

The Naturopathic Doctors and Acupuncturists are good here. No problems there. Unfortunately the Zen Attitude office does not seem to have the training and/or experience and/or skill to spar with a beast like Premera Blue Cross health insurance. Zen Attitude makes mistakes that cause delays and annoy the insurance company; such as missing diagnosis codes and incomplete paperwork. And of course that means the insurer is going to respond by aggressively denying claims as if I'm a problem patient. But I was not the one sending orders for testing and treatment; Zen Attitude took the lead here. I've started getting claims denied at more conventional western-medicine practices, for different medical problems. So it appears as if Zen Attitude's shadow of questionability has followed me around. I'm attempting to drop Premera and try a different insurer, but the damage is done. I understand that Premera is just one insurance company. But it's huge. It's one of the blue cross and blue shield organizations. Most employers give you very few options, Premera being one of the big two or three. I understand that insurance companies are predatory and unfair. But Zen Attitude accepts insurance and presents itself as a practice capable of managing insurance claims on behalf of the patient. They created some shared responsibility for insurance billing errors that result in a loss. I worked very hard with Zen Attitude on multiple attempts to fix the insurance claim. Zen Attitude and I worked very hard on multiple appeals against Premera's denials of the claim. We failed. Accepting defeat, I politely asked Zen Attitude if they could provide any kind of assistance to help me pay for the medical bill. It's hundreds of dollars that I now have to pay for 100% out of pocket, no HSA in this case. It's now an exploitative fee for what should have been a simple, modest medical expense. Zen Attitude deflected all responsibility. I politely asked again, explaining my reasoning. Zen Attitude declined to help me any further, and they didn't acknowledge or apologize for their own mistakes. The deflections continue. Lack of accountability for mistakes is rampant in the business of medicine. Zen Attitude unintentionally exploits this issue by presenting itself as a kind and enlightened alternative to the corruption. Sadly, I don't think Zen Attitude is immune from the rot. read more

I'm currently undergoing chemotherapy and dealing with sciatic pain, so I wanted to find a way to help with my healing process and get some relief. Courtney, my acupuncturist, was incredibly kind, understanding, and attentive to my needs. She took all the necessary precautions, considering my immune system is compromised, which made me feel safe and comfortable. Knowing I was nervous, she stayed in the room with me for the entire session, and I had a button to call her in the event that she needed to step out of the room. She also managed to make sure the temperature was right for me as I go through waves of chills and sweats. I feel so much better today, especially pain-wise. Thank you Zen Attitude Acupuncture and Courtney! You're in the right place if you're looking for compassionate and professional care, they listen to your needs. Their staff are all very kind, the ambiance is clean calm, and inviting. I highly recommend and will be returning!! read more

I cannot recommend Zen Attitude Acupuncture enough. I am especially and profoundly grateful for Dan Bertapelle. I was recently preparing for an embryo transfer. It was a highly stressful time for me for a myriad of reasons as IVF is a rollercoaster of emotions. I worked with Dan on an intensive basis leading up to my transfer. Energetically, I felt so calm, peaceful, and at ease in his care. He is so present for his clients, really listens and makes you feel like you are the most important person in the world. Physically, I felt a huge shift in my body. I definitely felt increased blood flow to my uterine area and more confidence in my body's ability to get pregnant. Emotionally, I felt happy and joyful and excited to become a mother again - not fearful or anxious which is what I had been feeling prior to seeing him. He is a master and a total professional. I believe this is his calling and if you need to be healed he has a gift. Finally, the whole team to include the front desk staff is so warm, pleasant, supportive and kind. Amazing experience! Last but not least, 7 days post transfer I got the big positive on my pregnancy test! read more

Rather than rely on painkillers, I decided to try acupuncture to relieve the discomforting side-effects of chemotherapy. Zen Attitude Acupuncture was highly recommended by one of my oncology nurses -- and I am so happy I took her advice to seek treatment there. Over the last 15 months in regular visits, the compassionate and creative healers at Zen Attitude on Capital Hill have helped my body reverse some of the negative effects of chemo, and alleviated others. My current acupuncturist, Andrea Bibeau, is attentive, caring, and knowledgeable. Andrea carefully notes the current status of my medical treatments and considers how best to assuage my discomfort with her training and knowledge of the Ancient Arts. Andrea also keeps our sessions light-hearted, and it is rare that we don't share a laugh. When I am at Zen Attitude, I feel as though I am among friends, as all of the staff are welcoming. I have encouraged my friends to try Zen Attitude for some of their health issues where traditional treatments have been ineffective. Please give Zen Attitude a try; don't fear The Needle! read more

I came to Zen Attitude with severe pain and weakness in my hands and shoulders, and after just one session with Dan Bertapelle I felt a real difference. Space is very clean and calming. It is next to the street so if looking for low auditory stimulation you might want to bring ear plugs. Katie was very friendly and knowledgeable about healing practices. Got treatment for stress, sleep, anxiety and period cramps. They spoke about treatment planning in the future to address maintenance or other problems. Not 5/5 because I would've wished a fuller assessment would've been done around habits, life style, conditions and the like that could've informed treatment or offered an idea of what the plan would've been even when it was a short sessions. Sounds like long sessions would have included this. read more

Friendly staff checking in, had my first ever treatment with Dr. Joey Ziegler and he was very nice and accommodating! I'm kind of scared of needles so he took things slow and respectfully and explained what he was doing which i appreciated. Had my first visit with Dr. Ziegler recently. I've been having back pain due to sciatica after a long drive. I've never tried acupuncture before. He was very sweet and had a calming present, which made it a great experience. He did some assessments, placed the needles and then let me rest for a while. The needles didn't hurt there were one or two where I felt a tiny pinch. I definitely felt sleepy during this process. Afterwards, he put some ear seats on my ears. I've heard these can be helpful. Phi Lan and her team are amazing! During the pandemic I was so crazy, with non-stop zoom meetings, endless hours in front of the laptop, and doom scrolling I developed this weird carpel tunnel in my right hand. Thankfully, from a friend referral, I found Phi Lan. This was my first time getting acupuncture and I was always nervous about getting poked by needles, but Phi Lan guided me through the process and she was able to eliminate the pain through a few sessions! Currently, I'm seeing her to help alleviate and heal the pain caused by being rear ended. It's been a journey and I'm so thankful that Phi Lan is part of my recovery! If you're curious about trying acupuncture, then I'd highly recommend stopping by this clinic and seeing Emberly. I've been seeing her regularly for 6+ months now for various ailments, including carpal tunnel and insomnia. She's been incredibly attentive throughout, and I appreciate how she checks in with me at the start of every appointment in case I'm experiencing new or recurring symptoms. The clinic itself is also very clean, easy to access via public transportation and car, and has a great staff. Would definitely recommend to anyone curious about acupuncture! read more

Ok, listen--I went into this whole acupuncture thing as skeptically as possible. No matter how skeptical you are of it, I was twice as skeptical. I am not a "mystical" person. Raised in the midwest. Believe in science, surgeons, etc. Still, after four months of crippling nerve pain in my back and leg that hadn't gotten better despite throwing everything my primary care doctor had at it (PT, specialists, medication, MRIs, etc.) except for back surgery she said would have a 50% chance of making things worse, a colleague I trust recommended acupuncture and I thought: "ok what do I have to lose?" I've done four sessions so far with Phi-Lan and Jeremy and it has blown my mind. My pain has lessened a lot and even my physical therapist noticed big jumps in how my body was responding over the last two weeks. I don't know how it works exactly, and I'm incredibly surprised that it does work, but I'm here to tell you that it does and even if you are totally skeptical of it, just give them a chance. Zen Attitude is incredibly professional, easy to schedule online (without a phone call, yea!), clean, punctual, and comfortable. They are ok if you come in skeptical and with lots of questions, and they really listen to you about what's going on. And here's one last tidbit: it's not really that uncomfortable a process--more weird at first and then mostly relaxing and relieving (of pain!) Top recommendation! read more

After 3 weeks with little to no sleep, I needed some outside help. I met with Emberly who spent time listening to my sleep challenges, lifestyle factors and everything I tried to remedy my insomnia. Thank you. Thank you! read more

I was startled to see a review of this clinic based on an insurance issue. As a social worker who has studied healthcare parity, it's a rare thing to find certain categories of healthcare workers that accept a wide range of insurance--therapists, acupuncturists, and massage therapists to name a few. Zen Attitude Acupuncture is a rarity in this field, attempting to provide the highest quality care while accepting a wide range of healthcare plans. The treatment rooms are clean and well tended to, and in my somewhat limited experience, the staff is uniformly and genuinely invested in helping patients feel better from the moment you walk in the door. I've worked with providers Jeremy, Dr. Alaina and Andrea, and all have been deeply compassionate and invested in what they do. Would recommend to anyone looking for an acupuncturist or naturopath. read more

I had been having elbow pain (tennis elbow) for some time. Both from racquetball and most recently pickleball. Had tried all of the usual advice; rest, ice, stretching etc. I'd never had acupuncture before, but it was recommended by a guy I play pickleball with. I am generally skeptical, but thought "What do I have to lose?" So I looked for places and Zen' had great reviews. Was recommended to Jeremy. I have had 3 appointments now and can say with confidence that it is improved. Is it gone? Not completely, but feeling much better and I am using Tylenol less and less. The important thing to note, is that Jeremy has taken (I know this word is overused-especially in this space- but here goes...) a very holistic approach. He's done acupuncture, but has also done some massage on the area, used a "massage gun" and even some low-level electric stimulation with a '10's machine." Which is having the most effect? Don't know. Don't care. The bottom line is that Jeremy truly seems invested in healing and taking a diverse approach to helping that happen. Would definitely recommend both Jeremy and Zen'. Oh and clean, comfortable treatment rooms, bathroom blah blah.... read more

When I first walked in, I noticed how clean and how beautiful the office space was. I was greeted by the front desk, and immediately afterwards my acupuncturist, Lily, came to take me to my room; I did not have to wait! Lily did an amazing job. She asked me about my concerns/what has been causing me discomfort, and made sure she covered all those areas for me. I love how she took the time to get to know me as well. She was easy to talk to. The music she played was really calming as well; I was able to take a nap even though I had needles on my back! I could barely feel the needles; it was really relaxing. Lily also gave me my first cupping experience. I was scared at first, but Lily walked me through it. It was not scary at all! The feeling was different from what I had imagined. She used the cup to go up and down my back, which felt like a deep tissue massage! My back felt rejuvenated. Lily finished my appointment with a car buffer(?) by rolling it throughout my body; it was a great finisher and felt really nice! At the end of my appointment, I felt like I had just came out of savasana (for all my yoga lovers)! When I got home, I slept so well! I highly recommend seeing Lily! Will definitely come back. read more
