I cannot recommend John and SJ Plumbing highly enough! SJ Plumbing is a minority-owned,…read moresecond-generation small business that truly deserves the community's support. The business was started by John's father and eventually passed down to John, who continues the family tradition with an incredible amount of pride in his craft. John personally came out to replace our riser and hose bib/spigot, and his work was exceptional from start to finish. You can immediately tell that plumbing isn't simply a job to him--he genuinely loves what he does. He has been taking things apart, digging around, and fixing things since he was a child, and that lifelong curiosity and hands-on experience really show in his work. John was incredibly thorough throughout the entire process--from inspecting the area and providing a clear estimate to carefully procuring high-quality brass and copper materials from a trusted supplier and completing the installation. His prices are very competitive, but what matters most to me is that he is honest, transparent, extremely skilled, and never cuts corners. He patiently answered all of my questions and explained the process along the way. I actually enjoyed watching him solder/sweat the copper and learning about plumbing! You can see the pride he takes in his craftsmanship. John also gives back to the community by volunteering his plumbing services on weekends, which speaks volumes about the person behind the business. I feel incredibly fortunate to have found John and SJ Plumbing. From now on, they will be our first call for our plumbing needs. We could not be more grateful! A tip for fellow Yelpers: Ask questions about the repair, what materials will be used, and what the work will involve. And especially during hot weather, please have some fresh, cold water available for your plumber. These professionals often work for hours in extreme heat, and we want the hardworking people taking care of our homes to stay safe and hydrated! Five stars without hesitation. Thank you, John and SJ Plumbing! YAY!

We will definitely be using him again for any future plumbing needs. Thank you, John, for the excellent service!

I never tried this before, but it allows you to explain your issue and to get their response and availability. I called Prodigy to replace a water shutoff valve for my refrigerator. When I asked for a ballpark…read moreprice, I was told they needed to come onsite to inspect the situation before they could provide an estimate. That seemed reasonable. Once they arrived, however, I was quoted a price that was roughly twice what I expected. The technician referenced a price/specification list, which makes me question why they couldn't have provided at least a general estimate over the phone, with the usual disclaimer that the final price could vary depending on the actual situation. I take responsibility for agreeing to the work instead of declining and getting another quote, but I was uncomfortable with the way the pricing was handled. It left me feeling that I wasn't given enough information to make an informed decision before the technician arrived. The actual job took less than two hours, and I felt the final price was extremely high for the work performed. I would not use Prodigy again for two reasons: Lack of pricing transparency and what I consider a poor business practice. Extremely expensive pricing compared with what I expected for this type of repair.

He ran a camera through the pipe and took the time to show me exactly what was causing the problem. What I really appreciated was that Edwin gave me two different options for addressing the issue and explained the pros and cons without pressuring me toward either one. He was also very reasonable when it came to working with me on the price. After his crew came out and completed the work, Edwin ran the camera through the pipe again and showed me the results so I could see for myself that everything was clean and the problem had been taken care of. Overall, I appreciated the transparency, professionalism, and lack of pressure. I would definitely recommend Beach Plumbing and Edwin to anyone looking for an honest and knowledgeable plumber.

We did a lot of research around the area - comparing the pricing as well as getting help for the issue we were facing. We sometimes had some black water come up in our second sink in the kitchen and weren't sure what the cause was. I liked that Brett was straight to the point in helping diagnose what the issues might be and helping guide us in the right direction on what may be needed. After figuring out a good time, Brett came in and was both chill and respectful. He had his tools ready to go and was able to test out our sink and adjacent appliances to see what was going on within an hour. Once finished, Brett also gave us his business card and noted to us we had a 30-day warranty in case something happened to our sink again for him to come check out. Felt that the payment made sense and wasn't overly expensive! Thanks again to Brett and the company for the efficient help!

So this review is about the service Chris provided. He was very responsive to messages and…read morereturning phone calls but did not do a great job in the small leak I had. One of the connector under my sink was leaking. He changed it but forgot to one small part inside the line (according to the other plumber who came at a later date to fix the problem). The problem was not obvious initially, but after 2-3 months the connector portion started leaking more and more. That was one reason for this review. Another reason is, I had problem with my shower temperature and suspect something is wrong with shower cartridges. However Chris told me he doesn't know how to take this shower handle off so he needs to cut off the handle to access inside and so I will have to replace the handle as well if I want the job done. Well, the plumber that fixed my sink issue had no problem taking off the handle. He did have to spend a bit more time figuring it out. There is some corrosion around the screw area but it was doable. So either Chris ability is not as good or he doesn't have the patience to figure it out. For that reason, the service he provided a few months back was not satisfactory
