When I first called, the person I spoke to immediately checked if she had availability. She spoke to one of their plumbers to see, then gave me the number of that plumber and said I could call to coordinate and explain the issue better. I called and spoke to Matthew. He was super kind, courteous, and empathetic. I told him about how the previous plumber came in with a special wand tool, told us we had major gas leaks, that we needed to take care of it immediately, and quoted us $17,000 for it ($15,000 with "discount"). He also said "I normally have to report you to the gas company so they can come shut it down, but I'm not going to. You just have to make sure to take care of it right away." I knew that sounded insane, so that's why I looked for a second opinion, while also doing due diligence in case there was an actual leak. Matthew was apologetic, saying that's unfortunate. He asked straight up if it was Prodigy Plumbing, which it was! He said he doesn't like to bad mouth other companies, but that he's heard of similar situations from other people. He said he wanted to help me out, and would be there in 30. He was super warm. I asked if he didn't mind wearing the boot covers, that I had some in the home, and he pulled them out of his pocket because he was already prepared. He took his time to thoroughly explain what the process looked like. He also said they would do the leak test for free because he wanted to make the bad situation better and knew I needed help. We discovered that one of the shutoff valves was behind the stacked washer dryer, and the only way to access it was to pull them out. He said he'd likely need another guy to help with that, but they could come the following day. We booked. Matthew was joined by Richard and Robert, who were also excellent. Together they got everything done in a short time. Full leak test revealed NO LEAKS! I asked Matthew what the charge would be and he reiterated it was no charge, he just wanted to make sure I got this taken care of. I insisted but he stuck by his original offer. Needless to say, I have found my new plumbers. The absolute best experience I have had with a plumber thus far. Oh and as a bonus, after they cleaned everything up, Matthew took me to the main gas meter and pointed out a few issues. The earthquake shutoff valve wasn't properly mounted, and the pipes on the city side were hand tight. He told me exactly what I needed to do and who I needed to call for that, and gave me a rough estimate on price. Could not be happier with Beach Plumbing, they are the real deal. read more

Our 100 year old house and plumbing needed an update badly. We had an old cast iron main drain under the house, and a clay sewage drain. We contacted three different plumbers to get estimates, and decided to go with Beach based on their professionalism, price, and the recent experience of a friend who underwent a similar renovation. Beach took care of the job in three days (2bd, 1 bath home). The repiping saved us from having to dig up the driveway too. They worked hard to earn this 5 star review! I had a kitchen drain that was leaking in my crawl space and needed to get it repared. I first met with Matthew and he was awesome! He went into the crawl space to investigate the problem so he could give me an accurate quote. He provided me a quote the same day and I said, let's do it. A day later, Cesar, Danny, and Matthew showed up ready to work. They had the unpleasent experience to spend some quality time in my crawl space but they did it with a smile and repaired the pipes! Unfortunately for me, they found more drainage pipes that were corroded and needed to be repaired. They had to remove a 3x4 section of concrete in my garage and dig almost 3' to get to the damaged pipe, but again, they did it with a smile and got it fixed. I was also dealing with a broken Heat pump water heater (AO Smith, don't ever get one of them, they are terrible) so I decided to have them install a tankless water heater. They came back a couple days later and installed it. I will say there was a mistake made but they were very resposive and admitted to the mistake. It's increasingly hard to find companies that provide straightforward, fairly priced work without upsell tactics or inflated estimates. I needed two loose hose bibs properly secured, which I understood would require opening drywall and/or stucco to do the job correctly, not a surface patch. Beach Plumbing quoted $1,425 for this work plus a minor unrelated repair. I obtained two additional quotes for the exact same repairs: $500 and $425. Both were significantly lower for the same work and the work was ultimately done by one of these plumbers. Based on this experience, I recommend getting multiple quotes before agreeing to any work even with a business with so many positive reviews. read more

I've had several positive experiences with Beach Plumbing at this point. Simple jobs but important ones. During the last job, Rene came by to try and install a new garbage disposal. First he tried to fix the old one. No dice; it was dead. Then he tried to install the new one I had purchased through Amazon. Turns out I accidentally ordered the wrong kind (no power cord included). I felt so silly, but they didn't charge me for the visit despite him having to re-install the old one after having already removed it. Rene returned after I bought the right one and he installed it with no issue while we enjoyed pleasant conversation. I plan to continue using Beach. I received the call between 10:30 and 11:00 from Jesus who said he had finished a job early and could be at our house within half an hour. Years ago, we bought a flipped house, and several issues have come up throughout our time here. Yesterday, one of those issues came up, as someone installed a hose bib incorrectly, and it caused the whole thing to rust and break clean off. We did have some surprises and bumps along the way but Matthew and the crew handled everything professionally without increasing the price and fixed everything to my satisfaction. Beach Plumbing is a local business. I was given a wait time of 2 hours. Good right? But about an hour before they showed I got a call saying the plumber was running behind. He would be here in a hour after the original wait time. I was annoyed but kept my appointment. The plumber finally got here and I let him know I was annoyed but it wasn't just about the late appointment. I was having a bad day. He understood and apologized for being late. The guys was very pleasant and professional. He looked at the problems and gave me a price (they do that without charging you). Price was very reasonable so I asked him to fix everything. He fixed the problems in a half hour and cleaned up the mess - Including emptying my trash can. Then when I went paid him, he gave me a discount for being late! I told him he didn't have to do that, but he had it approved and it was ok. So far everything he fixed is working. It's been 2 days. I was told there's a 30 day warranty. Not sure if that is common. I would recommend this company. Not just because of the discount. Their customer service was excellent-both on the phone and in person. Price was reasonable. Our shower was leaking from behind the wall and our bedroom next to it was starting to get moldy. It wasn't until we removed one the baseboards that we found how serious the leak was. We quoted a couple of contractors before we settled with Beach Plumbers. Communication was great, very friendly and well informed customer service from both their main office and their techs. They explained to us the situation very clearly and gave us a reasonable timeline on how long the repairs would take, given on what they knew at the time. Luckily the repairs were quickly done. They reinstalled new lines and valves with better quality parts than what we had. I would recommend to anyone, especially if your house is over 100 years old. Not sure how I ended up being assigned a plumber with Beach Plumbing when I called Olson originally but I did not have a good experience with Beach. Usually Olson does great work at a great price (see my other review). Both have the same License number. We had a simple washer water valve update turn into a multi day ordeal. They replaced the valves but left the appliance unhooked. Then they came back and hooked up the water but forgot the vent line. Took 3 visits from Beach to rectify. read more
