During a recent inspection of our property the inspector identified that one of the sump pumps in our carport had the float separated from the unit, which would render it useless during a rainstorm. I had an issue with my AC not cooling and reached out to request someone to come out to take a look. From the initial phone call with Jeanette, to the technician coming out (same day!) the customer service has been top notch. Oscar answered all my questions about the issue with the AC unit and what was broken and options for repair. Knowing that the coming week had a heat wave in the forecast I was hopeful that the fix could happen quickly. Not even 3 days later they called to schedule a repair for end of week. They also provided an arrival time and showed up early! Freddy C and Renee came out and worked diligently to install a new AC and went the extra mile to trim some shrubs to make enough space for the outside unit. They were polite and considerate as I was working from home during the install. Later that day after they left I had to call to ask someone to come back because I was experiencing an issue with the auto shut off and Albert (? sorry if I got that wrong) answered and scheduled time for someone to come the next day. Not even 10 minutes later I got a call back from Albert and he said someone would be there in 30 minutes to take a look. Oscar came back and was able to fix the issue quickly. Highly recommended! We had sequential failures of 2 HVAC condensers, 23 yrs old, during a recent heat wave. The second one failed just before Freddy and the team arrived on schedule, to install the new condenser and heat pump to replace the furnace. They did a great job, upgraded the system and it's working better than ever. Meanwhile, Oscar was able to diagnose, salvage parts from the other unit, and restore the second, failed, condenser to operation - without having to do a full replacement. Exceptional! Called to have a slab leak inspection done on my house. The person in the office was nice and said they could do it a couple days later, a Saturday 12-4pm. I agreed. I had other contractors out at the house so I forgot all about it. Received a call at 3:59 pm saying the plumber was tied up on another job and they'd have to reschedule. No big deal, things happen. Scheduled for the following Saturday 12-4pm. I called the morning of to confirm, lady in the office said the plumber would contact me around 30 mins before they showed up. After getting no call and no one showing up I called them at 4:33pm, the same lady said she'd contact their "on call person Jose" and inquire. Jose called me back 10 mins later and said that no one showed up because the office couldn't reach me. I think not! I'm accommodating but I'm not one for bs. read more

I can pretty confidently say that Stephens is my go-to for HVAC needs (I haven't needed plumbing support). Oscar came out to look at my furnace a couple of months ago, and saved me a bunch of money. Another company had recommended I get a new furnace, so I had called Stephens for a second opinion. When inspecting it, Oscar thought the issue was fixable. He could describe to me what my furnace was trying to do and accurately predicted what it would do next. He ended up replacing a part and it fixed my furnace! He told me I could replace the furnace itself ($$$), but really didn't need to - it works, and he's seen ones in worse shape than mine continuing to run well. He gave me some tips to ensure it continues to run well, answered all my questions, didn't pressure me to buy anything, and just all around seemed like a really knowledgeable guy. I called Stephens again, yesterday, since one of my bathroom fans was running, but it wasn't sucking any moisture out. Oscar came out again, inspected, and essentially cleaned my fan :facepalm:, again telling me it was still running pretty well, explained my options if I did want to replace it, but didn't pressure me into buying anything new.
