I cannot say enough amazing things about Alex Garcia! We had been without a properly working thermostat for over FOUR WEEKS, and with the heat we've been having in LA, it has honestly been miserable. We had already had a few people come out, but Alex was the person who finally came in, took his time, and made sure everything was actually taken care of. They are still wonderful to work with and easy to communicate with. However, after my tune-up they recommended replacing/servicing a few things. One was a fan motor capacitor, which likely does need replacement because it tested out of spec. However, the $395 quoted price seemed exceedingly high for a capacitor that retails for roughly $10-$20. I completely understand that I'm paying for the technician's expertise, time, overhead, and warranty--not simply the cost of the part--but this still felt excessive. In this particular unit, the capacitor is also very easy to access, directly behind a single service panel. read more

David came out to inspect our system. He was prepared, considerate, thorough and has a wealth of knowledge about A/C systems. We had our system installed just a year ago by another small company and a few months later we had issues. Then when this last heat wave hit, the a/c was struggling to keep up and began short cycling. I reached out to the guy who installed it and they never replied. So I said no more. I'm calling in another company. Cloud comfort was my first choice but they are busy so I went with someone who was available sooner because of the heat wave. Well that guy never showed up. Now I call Cloud Comfort and they send me an angel: David. Basically, he told me everything I suspected the previous guy did wrong - set me up with an A/C that was too big for our unit. I knew this from previous experience with another property. Bottom line, take your time to research who should install your A/C. The previous guy was a referral and I didn't do my own research. If you want it done right the first time, make the investment from the get go. David is a very knowledgeable technician, hard working, and knows his systems. I trust that he would have done the job properly and I would have been well taken care of by him and Cloud Comfort. read more

POLITE TECHNICIAN, BUT QUESTIONABLE RECOMMENDATION To be fair, the technician was polite, professional, and thorough. He spent considerable time inspecting my HVAC system and taking pictures. However, I was essentially told that my heating and AC system was on its last leg and that I should consider replacing the entire system, potentially costing $10,000-$20,000. Thankfully, I got a second opinion. A 20-MINUTE REPAIR FIXED THE PROBLEM I contacted my home warranty company. Their technician came out, diagnosed the problem, and fixed my heating system in about 20 minutes. That was TWO MONTHS AGO, and my HVAC system has been working perfectly fine ever since. Based on my experience, I came away feeling that Cloud Comfort HVAC was more focused on selling me a new system than finding the simplest and most economical solution to my problem. ABOUT MY ORIGINAL POSITIVE REVIEW I also think this is important: as I recall, Cloud Comfort offered a significant discount on the service fee in exchange for leaving a review. I accepted that offer, so my original positive review was incentivized. That is something I wish I had considered more carefully when looking at the company's many positive reviews. GET A SECOND OPINION Based on my experience, I would not recommend Cloud Comfort HVAC. If they recommend an expensive repair or complete system replacement, GET A SECOND OPINION, or even a third.
