The business was started by John's father and eventually passed down to John, who continues the family tradition with an incredible amount of pride in his craft. John personally came out to replace our riser and hose bib/spigot, and his work was exceptional from start to finish. You can immediately tell that plumbing isn't simply a job to him--he genuinely loves what he does. He has been taking things apart, digging around, and fixing things since he was a child, and that lifelong curiosity and hands-on experience really show in his work. John was incredibly thorough throughout the entire process--from inspecting the area and providing a clear estimate to carefully procuring high-quality brass and copper materials from a trusted supplier and completing the installation. His prices are very competitive, but what matters most to me is that he is honest, transparent, extremely skilled, and never cuts corners. He patiently answered all of my questions and explained the process along the way. I actually enjoyed watching him solder/sweat the copper and learning about plumbing! You can see the pride he takes in his craftsmanship. John also gives back to the community by volunteering his plumbing services on weekends, which speaks volumes about the person behind the business. Hired SJ Plumbing for a water Repipe, filtration installation, water heater location move, and water heater change from tank to tankless. They worked with our schedule to get started and kept in contact with us. All work was finished in a day. The patch work was not part of the contract but set us up with one to get the patch work complete. My only recommendation for future would be to remind customers it is not included so that the patch work can be scheduled ahead to happen shortly after work is complete. Although, the patchwork was only a few days after. We just covered up the outside holes until someone came. Noted a couple of issues that popped up shortly after work was done, but they came back and fixed it right up. Overall, a pleasant experience, good value, and would recommend them. read more

Initially, I called SJ Plumbing to fix a leaky faucet in my Jack & Jill bathroom. Ricardo came, examined the situation, found the other sink's faucet was starting to fail. He returned the next day and replaced both sets of faucets. He was quiet in his work, cleaned up the area after his job was completed and even brought his own booties to wear while working in the house. What a morning...shower drain got clogged and backed up in to the other bathroom. I called a plumbing company (who I have used in the past) but their answering service never picked up. He took the time to check every fixture in my property to find out what the issue is. I appreciate his honesty and how he handles his business so I'm updating the review from 1 star to 4 stars! *** ORIGINAL REVIEW FOR SECOND VISIT*** I had a second visit for a Toilet clog. They came promptly, removed the toilet and snaked it. The process took an hour and cost a bit more than $600. The clog was cleared, but the aftermath was a nightmare. There were "human waste" spreaded & splashed on the floors, which originate from the equipment he used to do the job, not our toilet. These were avoidable if either the equipment was cleaner or the user handled them better. Anyway, the guy used a cloth to wipe the mess, and that's it. I had to clean the bathroom AND the entire home because he stepped on the mess and spread them throughout my home. However, I didn't decide to write a bad review until I had a Home Inspection done and the Inspector pointed out the toilet was not reinstalled up to code. Apparently the base of the toilet needs to be caulked, and if you want to leave it open to detect leaks you can leave part of it open, not all of it. And mine was NOT caulked at all after he reinstalled it. All in all, that was more than $600 for an hour's work. Would've been barely acceptable if it was done properly. But nope, too many problems. read more
