Just left getting my dress hemmed here and the lady is super nice. Not only is she super talented. She's also super accommodating to the time you need it by and also suggests length ideas of how to make the dress look nice. She makes me feel really comfortable. She's very honest with pricing and doesn't try to rip you off. Appreciate her and all her hard-work. read more

Wow!! Best quality and price in town for wedding dress alterations! She has amazing detail to attention and did some quite complicated alterations to my wedding dress for a fraction of the price others quoted me. She's reliable but also timely and quick with her alterations! Would highly recommend! She's also very sweet and you can tell she really loves her craft. read more

This review is for the lady Trang. I gave her 3+ months to make 3 pairs of pants made for me exactly like a model I gave her. I come in the day that we confirmed for me to pick it up, and once I arrived she said the pants weren't done. She could have called and informed me the morning of, but instead wasted my time coming down there just to be told she needed more time when 3+ months was more than enough. She told me she could have it done in one more day but I didn't want her to rush so I gave her one full week. The next week I come back on the day we confirmed that I would pick it up. Once AGAIN, she said the pants were not ready. I also asked again why she didn't call me that morning to inform me, and she said she didn't think I would come. Like why the fuck wouldn't I come to pick up my pants? Trang probably didn't even touch the pants the entire week and still expects me to wait another day when I needed it THAT DAY. Stupid bitch I'm never going here ever again read more

They were awesome!! Took 3 formal dresses in and she finished on time and they fit perfectly!!! One of them was a bridesmaid dress and she was done on time even though I procrastinated to drop off! She took her time making sure the hem was good and made sure the top was adjusted and fit well. Many of the other bridal party also took their dresses in and they all looked incredible!! read more

Weddings are back, so I was looking for a tailor to get a bridesmaid dress hemmed. I'm realizing now I never got the name of the lady who does the work, but I swung by in the evening to drop it off and she was helpful in confirming what I needed. She checked with me if I was wearing heels and then marked up my dress. I told when I needed it done by and she was able to accommodate my timing. Everything turned out just fine and I'll be back if I need anything else tailored in the future. read more

The staff here are seasoned veterans when it comes to the tailoring industry. Although they are extremely busy, they are very attentive and quick to help you out. Eldo Tailoring tailors to perfection and preciseness, thus building a strong trust and reputation with their clients. I have yet to have bad experience here and I have been coming for the past 5 years. Parking can be a bit of a hassle but you are usually in and out within a reasonable time. Additionally, if you need a job done last minute, they will try to accommodate you with usually successful results. Can not recommend. They are too busy, She is domineering. She thinks she knows knows what is needed before you state the requirement. I brought a baseball cap that had the Velcro adustable strap ripped off. Nothing was damaged. The Velcro strap simply needed to be sewn back on. It had a bumpcap too. She was not listening and despite my insistance refused the bumpcap. On pickup the Velcro strap was lost and the stub sewn that it was obviously too small for my head. I turned around to explain and got a bunch of lip - she still wasn't listening. FAIL allan read more

It was my first time coming to Eldo Tailoring & Alterations and I receive the best service. I came in to get my button up shirt and slacks altered for a wedding and this woman did a fantastic job and was really patient with me. I was able to pick up my clothes on the day of my choosing and everything fit perfectly! The pricing was also very reasonable!! Be sure to go there for all your alteration and tailoring needs. Thank you again to the amazing woman that helped me, I'll be sure to come back. read more

I needed two dresses altered for my daughter's wedding. One was a Chinese silk dress that I thought was too complicated to alter and I was just going to have minimal work done on it. She wanted to make the necessary changes to make the dress fit perfectly. I'm so glad that I took her advice. I still can't believe that she was able to make the neck comfortable and big enough for me. She also changed the zipper and took the dress in. I got a lot of compliments on that dress thanks. She's a very talented seamstress. I would trust her with any alteration! read more

Eldo Tailoring & Alterations - Shortened and added to top for modesty. Amazing job! - Sewing & Alterations Near Me - San Jose, California

Its an older couple who you will be expecting when you come in. I had two dresses to alter from House of CB online store with a time span of 2 days. Without me telling her, she already knew what to alter when I put them on. I came late to pick up dresses and she was nice to come the next day earlier for me to pick them up. read more

BEST. ALTERATIONS. EVER. Did my wedding dress alterations here after a recommendation from a friend. She fixed my Enzoani bridal gown by taking it down 2 sizes, fixed the train, added a bustle, and also steamed the dress for us. It took about 3 weeks for the alterations, and 1 week to steam. She was super flexible with timing and extremely professional with how she did her work. Her pricing is also INSANE - I got all of that at $175, but I know others that I've been quoted have ranged from $300-$500+. Her work is impeccable and I left Eldo with the dress of my dreams that fit perfectly for me. Love love love this place!! Recommending her to all my closest friends! read more

Eldo Tailoring & Alterations - Dress fit perfectly for my wedding - Sewing & Alterations Near Me - San Jose, California

I've been coming to Trang for years. She's dry cleaned my clothes, taken stains out of my favorite shirts that I thought could never be saved, and she has hemmed and altered many of my pants and dresses. I am petite so pants are hard to find in my length. Same thing goes for dresses. The prices here are super affordable and she always does an excellent job. I've referred many friends here and they love her just as much as I do. Thanks Trang/Eldo for the great job you do. You've got a costumer for life! read more

The owner helping me was very kind. There was no hassle at all, and a good price to match.

Welp I'm writing this review right now as I'm sitting here for 15 mins waiting for them to dry clean my clothes after having my stuff for over a week. I've come here probably 5 times and originally really liked this place. I thought the Le, the lady owner, was sweet and charged a competitive price. I got a bridesmaid dress hemmed for $25 and the shoulder straps shortened for $12. I brought the dress back for dry cleaning for $15. Men shirts dry cleaned for $2.50. However, the past few times, they have gotten really bad at procrastinating. When I've come to pick up, my clothes haven't been ready as I see them scrambling around in the back. Not sure if they are just "tidying up" or just starting the cleaning process. One time, the last-minute dry cleaning left a stain on a shirt. I pointed it out immediately and they offered to re-dry clean. When I came back to pick up, the stain was still there, and they quickly took it back to try cleaning it (not sure if it was again or the first time). Although, all of the times they have messed up, they gave me a small discount. Parking is terrible and there are a few spots in front of the shops on the left side of the store. Cash only. read more

Incredibly talented seamstress. So sweet and fun to work with. I gave them a lot of time. I just was in no rush. I had 2 pencil dresses created here. With gorgeous thick houndstooth fabric from Britex. The quality of my dresses are incredible. I shared with with SF designers who were blown away. They said she is extremely talented. I wore these for the holidays got tons of compliments. Treat these ladies well and they will return the favor. read more

You'd think that buying something from a reputable online source at full price will be flawless but I wish I can say the same about http://shop.nhl.com/home/index.jsp because when I received my Logan Couture (#39) jersey, the 2 numbers in the front weren't fully stitched on. I went to a few games in spite of it but I knew enough was enough. I need to get it fixed and I needed to email the site to tell them that they suck. The outcome? I got my jersey stitched correctly here for just $6 and it took just a 2 day turnaround. The site refunded me back the shipping cost and 20% so my credit card will thank me. Great service here and it's extremely hard to find parking but you can't miss this spot because the sign is noticeable. When I returned Monday to pick it up, she remembered w/o me having to whip out my receipt. Awesome. Today is playoff game #1 against the Canucks. The kids and I will be partying at Stanley's Sports Bar at San Jose Ice tonight w/ other fans and most importantly, Sharkie. I will ask him to sign my jersey as well. I freakin' love him. read more

I've been taking my clothes to Eldo for a couple years. They've altered my dress pants, sports coat, a jacket, several button down dress shirts and shorts. On one occasion they even re-stitched my dog's harness. It's the same process each time I get an alteration. I'm greeted at the front counter and asked to change in a small dressing room. Once the clothes are on me I'm usual fitted by the same person. I believe she and her husband own the shop. Anyway, she always listens to how I want the garment fitted and takes the appropriate measurements. Depending on how many clothes they're altering, it could take anywhere from 2-3 days, up to a couple weeks. Pros: -They do a great job -They listen and take into account how you want your clothes altered -Reasonably priced -They'll correct any issues if you point them out to them at pick-up Cons: -They only accept cash -There's zero parking so expect to drive around until you find a spot -Shop is not in the best of neighborhoods read more

The first few times I went to this place I thought the lady was a little bit rude but then again maybe I thought she was just very focused, and business oriented. The prices were not the cheapest but not outrageous either. This last time I went in she charge me $20 to fix a tear in my coat which I thought was too high when I could've just sent it to Patagonia for free. However, I paid the $20 and a day later the zipper broke. I brought it back in and she tried to charge me another five dollars. When I told her why would I have to pay again when you were the one that replace the zipper she got angry at me and told me I didn't know how to use a zipper and that it was me! She explained to me three times how to use a zipper like I was a 5-year- old. She was visibly angry, frustrated, impatient, and annoyed. This is no way to treat a customer who lives right around the corner I would've come back but I told her I'll never go to her business again. I should've went with my first instinct which is that she was very rude and has horrible customer service read more

Family owned and mainly ran by a sweet lady :) Such a warm and welcoming experience every time and I've always left a happy customer. The only place I go to for a hem! 10/10 recommend! read more

She tends to forget her deadline and she forgot that I already paid (I wasn't mad I understand she just wanna accept so many jobs for the business to survive) Make sure you set at least five days before your event and just pay on the day of your pick up. Nevertheless, I can't complain about her work, she's actually fast, she just accepts so much workload but when she says give me an hour she finishes it right away also the price is reasonable. read more

I have no experience with tailors and I heard about Eldo's from my friend. Came here to alter my prom dress and I was SOOOO SATISFIED! Super cheap, perfectly on time, and customer service is awesome. I had my dress shortened because it was way too long. Also had my slit cut higher because it was wayyy too low. The dress came out perfect and I will definitely come back here! read more

Eldo Tailoring & Alterations - I have really no idea how they did it - Sewing & Alterations Near Me - San Jose, California

I was a bit annoyed that I came at 9:05, and they still weren't open, so I had to return later that morning. Parking really is difficult; even though I got into the Mexican store lot all three times I was there, it's a terrifying exit as you're backing out blind onto a busy street. At least Eldo was quick to see me, and carefully thought about the original cut of the dress to best tailor it. She looked really busy, but still did same day service for me! I dropped it off at 10:30 am and it was done by 5:30 pm. The fabric was really heavy and she took in four panels, so I'm really pleased with the work. $25 total. Bonus: Nice surprise to find a vietnamese business accepting credit cards! read more

Small alteration place run by Vietnamese women. I came here with a friend for some alterations on our costumes. At first we were sketched out about the place but then relieved when the woman greeted us kindly and asked us politely how she may help us. The consultation went well and the woman working knew what we wanted. Great customer service and our costumes were ready by the pick up date. Pricing was fair and they did a great job so I couldn't complain. Would come back again if I ever needed any other alterations. read more

Fitted for a dress. Tried to get back into my pants when the zipper broke! So embarrassing. Sweated bullets in the nonventilated changing room trying to fix it myself. I haven't needed to wear one of my suits for about eight years and in that time, I've lost over 60 lbs. Due to a unfortunate death in the family this week, I needed a suit altered, and fast! I chose Eldo from the other reviews found here, and am so glad I did. In less than five minutes, her pins and chalk lines marked what to do. I came back the next day before closing... My fat suit was now slim and trim and fits great! Thanks, Eldo! (I'll be bringing my tuxedo to you next...) read more

I'm a bit worried about the quality of work here nowadays. My two most recent dresses tailored by the owner have been subpar. When she measures me, I feel like she does so lazily and without precision. By the time the dresses come back to me, my suspicions are confirmed as it never feels properly fitted. Just now, I paid $72 for a gown adjustment and additional $40 for dry cleaning. When I tried on her finished work, the top was way too lose. At first, she tried to tell me it will be fine if I wear a bigger bra. However, why would I want to do that? I want the dress to simply fit me. I had to persuade her to fix my dress. She did not put up a fight and did do adjustments for me on spot. I waited in store for about 20 minutes for her to finish. I tried it on again, and my heart sank. It was all a bit uneven and poorly finished. The seams were not smooth and had crooked bunching. I knew at this point that it would be a lost cause here. I really like the owner, personally, because she is a very nice lady. I didn't have the heart to criticize her on spot. I simply remained polite and paid her, regardless of my disappointment in the service. Another upsetting tidbit was that even though I paid for drycleaning, the front of the dress came back to me with more than a few creases and wrinkles. All in all, I think that I won't be coming back here. I'll have to find another tailor. It's very saddening. read more

I live in the downtown San Jose so I decided to take a chance and try this alterations place since it wasn't too far from my house. Big mistake! I brought in 5 brand new dress slacks that I bought for work and another pair of dress slacks about a year old. I told Lee that I wanted a hem on all slacks and that 4 of them I wanted a straight a leg tapered in so they can have slim look. It took 2 weeks before I can pick-up the dress slacks and then when I started wearing them to work and I notice the slacks were still too long and baggy and not the way Lee originally measure each for me since I tried each pair of slacks on for her. So since Lee was on vacation for about 2 weeks I had to wait before I could let her know that the tailoring was not done correctly. She was nice enough to offer to redo them again for free but she also try to say that I wanted the slacks tighter and shorter which doesn't make any sense at all since they didn't do tailoring right the first time around. 2 weeks later I finally able to pick up all 6 dress slacks back from Eldo's only to find out that 3 out of the 6 were tailored super tight. WTF. I'm so disappointed and lost tons of money and time on this. This bad experience has cost me out of my pocket $130 for the alteration service and I'm out $180 on the 3 super tight dress slacks which makes it a total of $310 out of my pocket so I'm pretty bummed out. Since i'm out $310 I figure I would share my experience and learn from this mistake. read more

Co Trang is the best! I was first referred to her by a good friend when I needed someone to alter my wedding dress. She did an amazing job and everything came out to ~$200 which was a great deal considering I needed so many things done. My dress was too big and needed to be brought in, padding changed, hemmed, straps adjusted, and a bustle to be added in. I loved it! I've also brought her a few long bridesmaid dresses to be altered and she's done a great job on those as well. I would highly recommend! read more

I'm downgrading my original review (5 stars). I WAS very happy with this place. I even convinced my husband to start taking his clothes here. The last 2 times I came back, the service has been atrocious. I brought in a sweater for her (Trang-the owner) to fix the zipper. She priced it at $4. I thought that was unusually cheap for a broken zipper but OK, that's fine. I came back a week later and she showed me the sweater. It was zipped up so I checked it of course before leaving and it was STILL broken. Apparently, I paid $4 for her to just zip it up. Her reply, "Oh. I need to replace it." That'll be $12. Duh!!! I was pissed but I decided to give her a 2nd chance to redeem herself. On 6/22, I came back with a skirt to be hemmed. She said to pick it up 6/27. I wasn't in a rush so I came back today, 7/2. She spent 5 min searching all over for it. She finally found it in the original bag that I had brought it in, with pins still in it. It had apparently been forgotten. Instead of admitting to the oversight, she shifted the blame by saying, "Did I tell you to come back this Thurs or next Thurs?" I pointed out that the receipt says plainly right there that I dropped it off 6/22 so it was supposed to be done LAST Thur. So I will be making yet ANOTHER unnecessary trip back. I'm done here. So not only did they lose one customer but my husband won't be coming back there either. Her prices are great but I'd pay double that for honest and reliable service. read more
