I am so pleased to have found Mike, the tailor at Custom Alterations (in Tuxedo Wearhouse, Westgate Center). I have some beautiful tops and sweaters that are too long. Mike not only shortened my sweater, but re-created the intricate hem design! I was so impressed. And I had a t-shirt, which I wanted to be turned into a tank top. I told him to just cut off the sleeves and shortened the hem. But he re-styled it and made it look so much better than I had even hoped for. This tailor is an artist. He makes custom clothing, too. In the store I brought the garment, was quickly measured, and informed of the price and time. Both of which were under several other quotes I had received. I saw the reviews online and decided to check out this tailor. When I realized it was in a place called Tuxedo Warehouse I almost bailed, but glad I didn't! Mary and her friends greeted me with a huge smile, complimented my choice of sport coat and immediately made me feel welcome. They quickly identified when I needed the alterations done by (within 24 hours) and then brought in the tailor. Amy, the tailor, knew exactly what she was doing. Quickly identified how much to take it in and the sleeves up, and answered my other questions around fitting and different brands of sport coats and which size is right for me. And they turned around the alterations within 24 hours. Phenomenal. Price was fair for the quality delivered -- not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for in tailoring. I placed the order 10/25/23 & it was ready 11/8/23 (I was flexible on time). I feel thankful for their honesty & affordability & warmth. I went in-person to a couple places for a free quote on 1) shortening the length of the dress so I won't trip 2) closing the leg slit slightly 3) I'm flexible on time. A different business tried to quote me over 5 times this amount for the same exact job & I did not feel comfortable by how I was treated. Amy's place was my next stop for a quote, so I could instantly see the difference. Amy told me she can do everything for less than $60. Additionally, she was kind & patient. My second time writing a review for the amazing seamstress Amy and her team :) Amy did an excellent job once again with the dresses I brought in! I was initially a bit worried as most dresses I brought in I thrifted them off online as vintage items that already has some signs of age or even tears, so I was a little stressed about if they are going to fall apart if I get them altered....but all the dresses fitted me perfectly after they were done and once again I can't even tell they were altered if I don't look super closely! I brought in 2 sizes and he gave me his honest opinion on which size to choose then told me exactly what he needed to alter. The dress was ready the next day. Amazing service! I sent an inquiry through Yelp Thursday for a very last minute dress alteration that I needed by Saturday. They responded by Friday and had the dress completed in a couple of hours. They were so incredibly kind and accommodating with my schedule and timeline and even stayed opened a bit after hours so I could pick up the completed dress. I'm so thankful to them! I am writing this after my second time coming to Amy for tailoring and repairs of my clothes, and I have been very happy with her work both times. I first came to her a few years ago to get a new zipper put on a good quality but old jacket that I didn't want to completely replace just for the zipper. Amy did a great job finding a zipper for me and replacing it very quickly and for a very affordable rate. I still use the same jacket to this day and it's going strong! My second time was just last week when I needed some new jeans I bought in the Costco men's section shortened. Amy measured me when I went to drop them off and they came out PERFECTLY. I'm actually wearing one of them right now as I type this lol. I also added in a bunch of items that needed seams quickly fixed, and altogether I spent about $50 for the whole thing. I will absolutely continue to use Amy's tailoring services in the future, and I highly recommend her to anyone in the area. read more
