I love getting things altered. This place is located a few miles from my workplace. I had a sweater tank top, that hung too low. I wanted it to be higher, so I placed safety pins to show how much I want it to be taken in. The price was $15, a great deal. But, the area that was sewn, has it more towards the front of my top, not centered. I've been reached out by the owner that I can go back and have them fix this issue. I will never recommend this place to anybody. I took in a satin dress with some stains. They said they will see if dry cleaning works but that's all they can do.... I got the dress back with all of the stains, looks like they didn't do any cleaning at all. This is literally a cleaners store. For how expensive the service was, i am shocked that they just do the bare minimum and don't try to be helpful beyond that. They can handle just about any of your dry cleaning needs, from button downs and sweaters to dresses, suits, and even comforters. If you have special instructions for an article of clothing, just tell them and they will accommodate you. They have taken out stains from a number of pieces and are always there to provide service with a smile. I love their prices too - $2.50 for a button down shirt in this market is unheard of! Truly not sure how they make a profit, but as long as they are around, I will be happy to continue to support this mom and pop shop :) read more

I've always taken this local dry cleaners for granted. Having tried a few other places while traveling I have to say these guys are pretty much perfect in doing their job. Prompt, friendly service is always given and they do a very good job at cleaning your clothes. I've had shirts, suits and coats cleaned here and there has never been an issue, always done right and quick. Pricing is reasonable plus its 'organic clean' whatever that may mean. I bought a vintage jacket online from another seller that smelled like smoke. I needed the jacket to be dry cleaned before my trip. I asked the lady if she could get it done early and she was able to accommodate to me. Even though the jacket still smelled like smoke, the lady nicely told me they did everything they could to try to get the smell out but since dry cleaning is just a light clean, there's only so much they could've done. It cost $12 to get the jacket cleaned. read more

I use to work at a dry cleaners as a cashier back in the days in college. So I know when a cleaners is overcharging their customers or have bad customer service. With cleaners in every block and plaza, it's tricky to find the right one. Most cleaners are not nearly as fast as this one. Not only are they friendly and kind in their customers service, they do great job with the cleaning and they do it really fast. Price is very fair and not overpriced like most in our area. They also clean the band uniform for Lynbrook High school too, very local friendly. This is the best cleaners in Cupertino area, don't bother taking your clothes elsewhere! read more

Hi, I live in the area and have gone to this location before it was Shine Cleaners. I always thought they did a fairly good job but charged more than other cleaners. However, I still go here because of it is conveniently nearby my home. Last week, I took a jacket in to get dry cleaned because my significant other had spilled something on it. When I dropped it off, I noticed that the receipt looked as if she had marked my jacket for regular laundry. I politely told her that the tag on the jacket says dry clean only. I SPECIFICALLY TOLD HER I WANTED IT DRY CLEANED. When I went to go pick up, I noticed that the jacket still didn't smell extremely clean. Moreover, it didn't smell like had been dry cleaned. I went back in and asked her why it still smells. She stated that she had put it in the dryer multiple times and suggested that I just hang it out for a few days to air out. This confirmed my belief that she did not dry clean my jacket as I had asked. I was already returning to work from lunch so rather than stand there and argue with her, I took my jacket and left. If I had wanted to simply throw it into the washing machine and drying machine, I would've done that at home rather than spend $10 for that service. In the future, I am going to avoid this place because they do not follow the customer's instructions on how they would like their garment cleaned. I'm going to stick with my significant other's cleaners, Nature's Best Cleaners on El Camino. It may be further but at least my clothes will get cleaned the way I like. read more

Came because Shine received strong reviews, after I had a suit covered in cake due to a mishap at a theatre rehearsal. The lady was incredibly nice and also very honest-she mentioned that she may not be able to remove the cake stains, but if she failed she wouldn't charge me. My favorite dry cleaners. I grew up in the area, and I've been going here for many years now... I moved to South San Jose earlier this year, but I make the long drive up to bring my clothes to Joyce and her husband. I may be a little biased because I'm Korean, but Joyce is seriously the sweetest, friendliest person ever. She knew my name on my second visit and could pull my clothes for pick up without the receipt or anything. That is a talent for memory that I only wish I had. We always chat for a while if there aren't any customers behind me. It's not the cheapest cleaners around, but I always feel like my things are being taken care of. The turnaround is pretty quick. Things I've had cleaned here with confidence: sweaters, dresses, dress shirts, slacks, my wedding dress, a bridesmaid gown, a veil, scarves, skirts, blouses, trench coats, wool jackets, etc etc etc... Great service! I had an ink stain that came with a dress I just bought and absolutely love. I was so disappointed and looked for a cleaner to see if they can take the ink out. After shopping around several cleaners, I came to Shine. The guy took a look and took it to the back to spot treat it right away. He did this twice and the Visibility reduced significantly. He didn't charge me for the service, and was very honest about their prices to alterations. He even suggested me another place specialized in dress alteration. This tells me that they run a very honest business and they have the customers' best interest in mind. They're not the type of business that is out to get a buck every chance they've got. From the moment I decided I would spare my mom from having to launder and iron my dress shirts (sue me, she LIKED doing it...) to the time I moved to SF, I took my shirts to Shine. THIS guy likes quality, so I hopped on Yelp to find a decent dig with affordable cleaning. Being a Banana Slug alumni, the reviews here weren't the only thing that got me to try Shine out....this place is ORGANIC! Ok, so I don't exactly know what that entails in the world of cleaning, but it managed to sell me... Joyce (owner/operator) is one of the nicest ladies I've ever exchanged so few words with. It only took me going to her 3 times before she no longer asked me for my phone number and greeted me by my last name! She has done everything from taking out a tough stain on a golden tie to NOT charging me extra because I accidentally threw in a nicer silk shirt w/ some stitched print on it. Regardless, if I ever stay back at my mom's place for any extended period of time, my shirts will go straight to Joyce (though I'm sure I've foregone my "regular" status and my name has been erased from her memory). I have been this dry cleaner for all my dry clean clothes and some alternation (others are done at Nordstrom with free service for purchases) for many years. Joyce is very nice and friendly. She always make a sure all stains are removed from my clothes, and returned the clothes on time. She also keeps the store clean, so I have no worry to leave my cared clothes to her. Due to my work schedule, sometimes I am running late for pick up. She will stay a little bit longer and wait for my arrive before she closes the store for the day. I searched for a well-respected dry cleaners on Yelp. I found Shine reviews and decided to take a special comforter there. Joyce was as sweet as other reviewers had noted. She first quoted my comforter as a queen size. However when I picked it up, she said her husband told her it was not as large and so they charged me less. I really appreciate that kind of honesty. She also pointed out they could not take out all the spots (it's a very, very old comforter) and again, just appreciate her honesty. Highly recommend this dry cleaners! read more

Organic dry cleaning. Not only do I not have to wash my husband's shirts, but I can feel good about it too! It took me years to find them, but I love this Dry Cleaners! I never review services, but feel compelled to do so here. My wife and I took several shirts and pants to this cleaner for the first time. We spent some time with the female owner to mark all the stains that needs to be worked on. A week later when we went to pick them up, we were asked to pay first and nothing was mentioned of any issues. After paying, we noticed there is a stain and hole in our satin shirt. It is obvious that the damage occurred after the dry cleaning process because there is dark stains around the hole. Instead of apologizing for the damage or making amends, the owners kept saying the damage was already there and not their fault. It obviously was not as we all checked for any stains or damage together when we first brought the shirt in, and they never called us to say any problem was found. The female owner then proceeded to bring out her husband to continue to berate and argue with us. This cleaner deserves a zero star. read more
