If you have a sweet tooth, the margaritas are incredible. My favorite was the **cucumber and mango margarita** from the margarita flight--it was refreshing and perfectly balanced. These absolutely exceeded my expectations and were packed with fresh, vibrant flavor. For my entrée, I had the **Fiesta Combination Plate** with a shredded beef chimichanga and chicken flautas. Everything was delicious. The rice was flavorful, though the beans weren't my favorite--but honestly, that's a minor detail compared to how great the rest of the meal was. The service was top-tier from start to finish. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made the entire experience even better. This place showed up as the best restaurant in Page, Arizona. So as a tourist in town, my family went there to eat. We waited 50 minutes to be seated, the place was packed by mostly tourists especially Yelp readers ( just like me). The place is overpriced and overrated. The food we ordered were not that great, but our boys who ordered burritos liked their food. I ordered Tampequina over Carne Asada as recommended by our waiter, that was a big mistake! I didn't like the chipotle sauce they have, it has a consistency of a runny peanut butter and I wasn't able to enjoy the taste of carne asada meat because it was submerged in chipotle cause. If you like Carne Asada just order carne Asada not Tampequina (carne asada and shrimp with Chipotle sauce) the added shrimp won't it make good. My husband ordered Chile Verde, which is his favorite Mexican dish, but he did not like it either. He ordered tacos on the side, he said they've been sitting for awhile, the meat were cold and tortillas we already saggy when they served them. Overall, we are not impress! read more

My 10year old review: My family and I had an amazing time at El Tapatio! We had gone there after visiting Horseshoe Bend. Me and my brother LOVED the chips and salsa and that was only the appetizer. I could tell that the main course would be amazing. I ordered the Trio Enchilada with a side of rice and beans. I would recommend eating this dish for it is so good that I would eat it every day and every second of a day. The next night which was also the last night for us in Page, I ordered a beef burrito and it was SO AMAZING! The service was so kind and I wish I could go there again. I was very sad that I couldn't eat at El Tapatio, and here in California, there is no El Tapatio. But the next time I go to Page,Arizona I will absolutely eat all my dinners at the amazing El Tapatio. And yes, I rate this a million out of ten. read more

I've been visiting Page for 25+ years. We are a houseboating family and come into Page for dinner on occasion. For years, we couldn't find a place with decent service (and food). In fact we expect poor service because it's the standard in Page. We would tolerate other restaurants just so we could go out. When we tried the "new" Mexican restaurant, we were pleasantly surprised. Fast courteous service, large portions, good food by authentic Mexicans. We hoped it would last. Several years later, we still come here almost every time we are in Page. And it's still good food, friendly efficient service, and a positive experience every time. read more

Was it the best Mexican restaurant in Page, Arizona? Probably. But that is not saying much. I will give you this. You can possibly have a great time if you keep up with the drinking. I rated my experience 3 stars because this one table were vaping indoors and spilled margaritas all over the table and the poor waiter had to clean up after their mess. I took a short weekend trip to Page and we only had time for one meal. While Page isn't a huge…read moretown, a couple of spots were in contention. We decided on Gone West Family Restaurant based on their solid reviews and we thought that American food (especially with a Western theme) would be the way to go. When in Rome! We stopped by on a Saturday evening for dinner. Parking is easy in the complimentary lot they share with several other businesses including a Chinese restaurant right next door. Ambiance (4.5/5): Pretty much what I was hoping for. Gone West is a spacious restaurant with one large dining room and another large dining room. The difference? The one in the back has a stage where they play live music. So, if you want a quieter atmosphere, choose the first room. If you want to enjoy some live music while you dine and drink, choose the back room. We sat in the back room. A band played various covers while we were there which we enjoyed. The decor is also awesome with a lot of Western and country decor including John Wayne, Johnny Cash, and more. Service (4/5): The hostess was super nice and accommodating which was a nice way to kick off the experience. Our waiter was pretty solid. He could have stopped by a little more frequently, but overall, did quite well. Drinks (4/5): I went with an Arnold Palmer (they only had pink lemonade unfortunately) so not a lot to right home about. With that being said, they have a decent beer list and several cocktails. Food (5/5): I went with the Chicken fried steak sandwich with spiral fries. CFS on a sandwich?! I couldn't say no. Country fried steak is one of my favorite Southern dishes, but I've never had it on a sandwich before. Check out their concept: breaded steak on a bed of mashed potatoes topped with green onions, gravy, and a fried egg with your choice of side. This was a great sammie! It was quite messy, but given how delicious it was, I didn't mind. The fries were delicious too, and it was a generous portion. The type of portion where you can easily have leftovers. Everything I was hoping for and more in this dining experience. While the food options in Page aren't vast (and as impressive as larger cities), Gone West should be at the top of your list!

My wife and I are visiting Page from Charlotte, North Carolina, and are staying in the area for several days while on vacation. Based on the reviews and reputation, we came here expecting this to be one of the nicer dining experiences in Page, especially for steak. Unfortunately, our experience did not come close to those expectations. I ordered the approximately $60 beef tenderloin filet, and my wife ordered the chicken. The biggest disappointment was the steak. What I received did not resemble the size, shape, texture, or tenderness I would normally associate with a filet mignon. It was a longer, flatter cut that reminded me much more of a flank-style steak. Even cooked medium, it was surprisingly tough and contained a significant amount of fat. The piece also appeared poorly trimmed before being cooked and sliced. For a restaurant positioning this as a premium filet at this price point, I expected a considerably better cut of beef. The bread service was also disappointing. The rolls were served at room temperature and did not taste particularly fresh. They were very soft and had a processed texture and flavor that reminded us of packaged grocery-store rolls rather than freshly prepared restaurant bread. Another surprising issue was the knife provided with my steak. I initially received a standard table knife that could barely cut through the meat. I eventually had to ask our server for a serrated steak knife, and the response was, essentially, that she would check to see whether they had one available. At a restaurant serving a roughly $60 steak, I would expect an appropriate steak knife to be provided automatically. The most unpleasant part of the experience, however, was the flies. Throughout our meal, approximately three or four flies repeatedly circled our table and food. They landed on both my meal and my wife's meal several times, and we found ourselves having to wave them away every few minutes. It became extremely distracting and made it difficult to enjoy dinner. I eat steak regularly and was genuinely looking forward to trying what appeared to be one of the better steak options in Page. Unfortunately, between the quality of the filet, the bread, the lack of an appropriate steak knife, and the flies constantly around our food, this was an extremely disappointing experience--especially considering the prices. Based on our visit, I personally would not return.
