I've been eating here and ordering to go ever since I was like.... 8, people. I'm 20 now. I'm also fairly picky and the taste of El Taco Llama's carne asada is what I look for whenever I eat at other Mexican restaurants. Sometimes, depending on your taste, the food is a hit or miss depending on who is cooking. I personally prefer when the lady cooks because she usually makes it the best way. Perfectly seasoned and not too moist. Service here isn't Michellin star or whatever but this is what people call a "hole in the wall". It's hard to be too picky about these places. Service is fine for me whenever I order in, though. They're always nice and friendly. There is a 75 cent charge for using cards by the way. If you prefer to avoid that, bring cash. My favorite items on the menu are the carne asada plate, the burrito, and of course the tacos! The meat is usually nicely seasoned and the flavors blend well. I like mixing salsa verde into my meat and then scooping it up with their tortilla chips (which by the way are the best I've had!) Hubby likes the lengua. My recommendation when you visit on the weekends, you gotta try the pastor tacos and Asada tacos. The Pastor tacos are cute directly from a outside cooked to perfection ! They're to die for!!! I usually get a Gordita the tortillas a deep fried goodness with Asada, amazing :)!!! There's so much to try but anything Asada is great to choose whether it's tacos, burritos, quesadillas, Carne Asada fries (YUMMY) and tortas. There's just so much homey feel to this place, it doesn't get enough credit tbh! It's so amazing!!! I cannot forget the tacos of Tripas (intestine), make sure to ask for the crispy, theyre super yummy :) Trust me, best Monet you'll spend! If you're craving Mexican THIS is the place to come! I ordered cheese enchiladas, buche, carnitas and asada tacos. The enchiladas were so amazingly good! Stuffed with cheese! This place is simple, yet delicious. I used to live down the street and would stop by whenever I could. My favorite: carne asada burrito and I add lettuce. The tacos are good too. The gorditas are a must but you have to eat them fresh. Its made of two thick handmade tortillas that are fried. Once they come out the fryer with the meat, cheese, lettuce and salsa on top it is melt in your mouth delicious. Taquitos are yummy and they have potatoes tacos as well that are pretty good. I used to go here for several weeks as I found it convenient that it was open so early in the morning. I work at a hospital working late night/ early morning shifts and so enjoyed the prices and the food. I generally ordered the fish taco combination plates. As of 4/2012, when I had ordered the same thing, I didn't realize that they hadn't cooked the fish tacos long enough. I got FOOD POISONING as a result! I got sick and lost a few days of work (& loss of $$) because of it. I won't be going back there as the place reminds me of the illness that I suffered but more importantly, that I shouldn't have to remind them to do their job to cook the food thoroughly. read more

I live right around the corner and I always go here until my niece found a hair in her carne asada fries. The waiter was was very rude and did not acknowledge the hair in the food and walked away. When my niece got home, I decided to call the restaurant and I told them about the situation and once again she had not sense of customer service! Be warned: this is a long review!! I have nothing but amazing things to say about this place. Let me put it this way, (this is the same way I've described this place to my friends and family): if I could only choose ONE restaurant for the rest of my life and had to only eat at one place, this would be it!!! The variety here is amazing! From delicious Mexican food, to seafood, to a basic salad or burger and fries, this place has it all! I have been coming here for as long as I can remember (probably since I was a child, I am now almost 27) and the flavor is the same amazing flavor I remember from back in the day. I usually have the tacos de asada or al pastor, the meat is juicy, full of flavor, and they really hook it up!! Also, the meat is actually meat and not pieces of fat like other places. Now don't get me started on the salsa (the red is my fave!). It definitely completes the taco and it wouldn't be the same without the salsa. Once you taste it, you'll know it's a signature "taco llama" taste. I'm also obsessed with their tacos de tripa (or burrito de tripa. Yes, they make it. Yes, ask for it!!) the tripa is clean (if you've had nasty tripa elsewhere you know what I'm talking about) and I always ask for it extra cooked, so the tripa is a crispy bite of epic flavor. The tacos al pastor are actually cooked on those pastor things that rotate with pineapple! I've also tried their coctel de camaron, gorditas, burgers, and tortas ahogadas. I've never been disappointed at this location. Trust, I've been to many other taco llamas and none compare to this one! One more thing that makes it stand out: the taco guy who is usually cooking the tacos outside on weekends. Dear taco guy: thank you! For how fast you make these tacos (seriously record speed), for how you hook it up with the meat, and lastly, for how nice you are and the friendly attitude you have had each and every single time, regardless of how busy it is. I would go crazy trying to make a trillion tacos for impatiently waiting customers, but you always seem so calm and collected. Seriously check this place out if you're in the area. Dont waste your money , we ordered the carnitas burritto.& taco plate about 30 mins ago plus 6 carnitas tacos & one bite & i spit it out the pork was way over cooked & hard as a rock you couldn't swallow it if you wanted to. it was the same for every item we ordered. & the flavor taste like old stale overused grease. My husband watched them take the bag of cooked pork out of the freezer and reheat it. (gross) Also we ordered 2 cans of soda i got a sprite & my husband got a mug rootbeer , The sprite tasted a little strange but nothing like my husbands rootbeer , That can of soda must of been 5 or more years old it was the nastiest oldest tasting rootbeer I have ever tasted I mean it was awful . I am actually disputing the charge because that so called food cost me over $30 & it all went iin the trash can.! Now we have to go spend another $30.00 so we can eat . read more

The food is amazing from this place. I always get the quesadilla & taco combo which is delicious! I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Tacos are comparable to other taquerias, but I have to say that their cheese in the quesadillas is the best I've had. Have had with and without meat, and I actually prefer without meat because you taste cheese more.
