Carne Asada Burrito, red sauce and regular Horchata.

Decided to try Socorro's for dinner and I'm glad I did. My meal was delicious. I ordered a Carne Asada Burrito and I have to say the tortilla and meat had excellent flavor, the beans and rice also had great taste. Normally I don't review ( just read reviews) but I had to give them credit. 9/10, recommended.

Where to start off!? First time here in this hole in the wall, ambiance is nice, mainly serving food to go, service was great ladies working were very attentive and nice. Now to the best part the food was a 5/5. !! Being 9 months pregnant my expectations are a bit high so I really cannot wait to come back. My husband and I had the cheese enchilada plate, sope plate & Carne asada tacos . Meat was well seasoned and cooked to perfection with homemade tortillas! Oh ! Don't let me forget the delicious horchata!

The limones were dry no juice and the "tostadas" were Soft shells that's a reason why they're called Tostsdas

The food is ok a bit overpriced I just don't understand how can they can get away with that one taco for $4,50 seriously,it's just a hole on the wall but the food it's ok the service on the on the other hand is TERRIBLE, the employees attitude towards you is like they're doing you a favor, if you are seating on your table and ask for something when you see the waitress passing by she just ignores you and don't care what you want or need is not like they're busy it's only like 3 tables occupied by customers, long faced waitresses with attitude like they're mad or something I mean if you're going to be like that work somewhere else but don't do customer service is bolt like im Eating for free I'm paying for my food but with that TERRIBLE SERVICE don't be expecting a tip The owner should really look into it unless he/she doesn't care about losing customers!!

Food is good. Service not good. I ordered food by phone for pick up, in my broken Spanish. My Non Spanish speaking son picked up the food. When he arrived he told them he was picking up a phone order, (they did not ask my name to identify the order-over the phone) he had to tell them what we ordered, they asked him Questions in Spanish, he didn't understand some words, he said the waitress was annoyed, while he was waiting, they made him feel uncomfortable, as he saw them giving him looks and he heard them say, no sabe español, in a not so nice way. He understands some, but can't pronounce enough to speak Spanish it. When the order was ready they didn't hand him the food, they just placed on the counter and waitress walked away. When he asked if that was his order, they pointed at the counter. He said he had never felt so disrespected.

Great food. I would buy from here every day if they would only not put their to-go soups in those carcinogenic white foam containers.

Lovely spot for Mexican food with fun vibes!…read more I came for Sunday brunch/lunch with some friends. I made a reservation through Yelp a couple days beforehand and there was plenty of availability. The restaurant is located right off Ventura Blvd and has an attached parking garage in the basement which can be accessed via the parking lot behind the restaurant. There were plenty of spots available Sunday afternoon when I came. It's a bit hidden, but there is an elevator from the garage to the top level where the restaurant is located as well. We had two babies in strollers with us, so I requested a table with plenty of space nearby for the strollers. They seated us outside on their covered patio, and indeed, we had plenty of space. I peeked inside and there's also a nice lounge area with a beautiful flower wall as well as a proper dining area. When we arrived, there was a live DJ spinning tunes. I assume he's there during brunch hours, as he left around 3 pm when brunch ended. I started with a frozen lime margarita ($12). It was okay; it felt like it was only half frozen as the ice wasn't blended that well. For my main, I got the famous Anejo carne asada and shrimp plate for $40. Yes it was pricy, but the portion size was also huge! I was starving and somehow managed to finish the plate, but it'd be a great dish to share for two people with small appetites. I really enjoyed it as well. I asked for the steak to be cooked rare, and they didn't overcook it. Each bite was super tender and flavorful and paired well with the rice. Everyone else also enjoyed their dish. One friend got the wet chicken burrito for $15 and it was massive! Another got the veggie fajitas with steak added and really enjoyed her dish as well. Solid food all around. I would love to come back on a weekday and try their happy hour! Sipping on $5 margaritas and $6 sangrias sounds like my idea of a great time!

I started coming here in 2015. According to Yelp, I've been here 21 times at the time of writing…read morethis--somehow that surprised me (and means I've basically paid for "long-term testing" at this point, and that has been pretty fun.) Naturally, I've noticed some changes. Over the years, happy hour times have been reduced, prices have crept up to a point where the value doesn't quite match the food, and it definitely feels like the truly vegetarian options have disappeared from the happy hour menu. I eat fish, but I'm often dining with others who are vegetarian only, so this has a bigger impact than it might for most people. The magic that used to bring me back seems to be gone. That said, the patio is a great environment for a family meal, and the staff was genuinely friendly and attentive--so at least the vibes are still doing their job. I ordered a Caesar salad with salmon. The salmon was grilled nicely and tasted good, but it was a little undercooked in the center--like it was still waiting for the rest of the food to catch up. And the salad itself didn't really taste like a Caesar--more like a "Caesar-adjacent" salad... which, honestly, I guess is a thing now. Also, I used to order the cheese enchilada from the happy hour menu, but it's no longer offered. This was a favorite option for me, and at least one person in my party always ordered it. The banquet space remains impressive, and it's a fun, festive environment for large parties--it's great for celebrating after graduation--something we've done more than once!

The good news is that they have a nice new open-air, covered back patio. The bad news is the cost. $18 for a Margarita that was less than 5 ounces after you take out the ice. Then $29 for a scoop of rice and beans, a cheese enchilada and a shredded beef enchilada. They don't serve my favorite anymore, which was a ground beef enchilada. Plus tax, and then $10 for parking at 3:00 p.m. on a Sunday. Over $60 for what cost them under $5 to prepare. This is not the Casa I loved, and the attitude of the white servers was as though I was making them work, while the Hispanic servers were friendly, efficient, and totally embarrassed by the costs. I understand the higher prices to give the work staff better pay. But management has dumped all of those costs onto the customer without taking a slight profit hit. The founders would be ashamed of the new management, and rightly so. Casa Vega is now on my never-to-return list. Breaks my heart.
