    Chile rojo
    Maria D.

I love their tortillas their fresh hand made. My favorite plate it's chile rojo meat plate. I love the flavor and seasoning its authentic Mexican food moms and pops restaurant. The place it's very good the food it's delicious service can be better and it's a little pricey but it's worth. I recommend you go and enjoy their way of packaging the food to go can be better. Their Gordita's, rice and beans are definitely like home made.

Tacos de birria de chivo con tortillas hechas a mano! Goat birria (TRY IT) tacos with handmade tortillas!

Stopped in here for lunch to go when I was working in the area. Ordered 2 tacos de birria de chivo estilo Michoacano as my family comes from the state and I love well cooked goat and HANDMADE TORTILLAS! The workers all had a smile on their face and were super attentive. From the price I assumed a carne asada burrito wasn't going to fill me up which is why I also ordered the tacos. The burrito was more than enough but I came in with an appetite. Next time a Gordita de asada is in order, in the short time I waited for my food I saw three people who were dining in get one and it looks impressive. The pico and the salsa both had a correct amount of heat without lingering too long on the palate.

    Where's my chicken

I ordered a chicken taco please tell me WHERE is the chicken!!! And on top of it have I noticed they over charge! The prices on the menu aren't correct as a matter of fact every time I've gone and ordered the SAME thing has my total ALWAYS been different. I've once in front of them added up based off the menu prices and they acted like they made a mistake.

Centerpieces Way Too Dusty and Dirty

If you want authentic Mexican Food, this is the spot! I recommend their Sopes, Birria, and Carne En Molcajete. For the most part, all the dishes are pretty delicious. They serve hand made tortillas which gives it a completely different taste to all the dishes. I come here quite often. The service is good. Sometimes it might be hard to find parking but you can always look for parking on the streets around this place. Even though I do recommend this place, the only downside is that the centerpieces are way too dusty which makes this place looks dirty.

Menudo & red chilaquiles w/ asada

Been meaning to try to this place and I was not disappointed. The menudo was delicious, the hot sauce is spicy but sooooo goood. My boyfriend got the chilaquiles with asada and I wanted to have his plate too. Plus I'm a sucker for handmade tortillas. Can't wait to try the rest of menu. Parking sucks but the service is pretty fast.

Chilaquiles & Carne en salsa de molcajete

If you're looking for authentic Mexican food , I highly recommend this place. I ordered the chilaquiles and my husband ordered a beef plate. They both came with hand made tortillas. The tortillas were thick and you can taste the freshness in the texture. Both plates were amazingly good. This place is a little pricey tho. We paid 30 dollars for both plates. Considering that it's a hole in the wall type of place, it seemed a little pricey to me. The customer service was great. Parking might be a little tight depending on what time of the day it is. There is no bathroom inside. So unless you're okay with using an outdoor bathroom, I suggest you hold it in! Lol. Overall great food. Definitely worth the price we paid.

They did ask me green or red sauce.the green sauce that I chose was on the sour side. To sour for that type of egg in my opinion. The tortillas in the chilaquiles were soggy. I like them crispy. BUT. THE INGREDIENTS THEMSELVES ARE GOOD. The red sauce is tasty and a perfect spicy! (On the hotter end), and their beans , rice and table chips on the side are good! AND THE ASADA, omg. their asada is fyeee. The horchata was decent as well. Do you see my dilemma? The things I'm coming back for: THE ASADA AND THE FISH BATTERED TACO CASA GRANDE STYLE. The fish battered WAS PERFECT. the slaw and tortilla that came with it were mid. BUT I AM COMING BACK TO EAT THAT PERFECT BATTERED FISH TACO NO TORTILLA hahaha. The chipotle sauce one was ok. But the texture, fluffy, crispy ratio was heavenly.

I recently tried out El Cocinero's food at an event that they catered to. As a person who eats meat and is not restricted, I would come here for the good food. The vegan al pastor had chunks of pineapple and it is seasoned and cooked to taste just like the meat version. The texture is just a little bit different but it does resemble a lot like meat. The vegan pastor also tastes just like the meat version, just less "smoky" and the texture is softer. The rice is flavorful and fluffy. The beans are seasoned just enough to have flavor but not compete with the other dishes. The creamy chipotle sauce was perfect topping the rice and beans. I do like vegan food but the only reference I had with Mexican vegan are places that try to add fake cheese and lean heavily on beans and rice. This business shows that you can still have all the flavors and not rely on cheese and meat. They focus on the flavors and not what would make non-vegans feel comfortable. Initially, I was going to give this first time experience a 4 star review so that it encourages me to go check out the restaurant so I can add the service and the ambiance. However, I was lucky enough to bring home leftovers and as I was eating it, the food tastes better. Had to add the extra star!

This place had everything you'd need and tastes so good for a vegan spot. You would be able to fool me and tell me this is actual meat and I'd believe it. That's how good it was! I got the quesadilla (half asada, half al pastor) omg that was the best thing I have ever had. The cheese melts and pulls just like regular Cheese. The meat was so juicy and good flavor. I'd get it again and again But I'd probably try the tacos next time along with the quesadilla tbh. I also got the flan which was tbh less sweeter than a regular flan. But hey I still loved it, I don't complain about it. It was still delicious. (Funny incident, I ordered the flan at the front and paid for it.i wasn't told anything else by the guy at the register. SoThen went back to the table and Waited and waited and waited for a good 20 minutes, till I asked about it and was told that I can just grab it out of the refrigerator!!!! Smh, as much as I was upset as much as I for some reason just found it funny. So don't do the same mistake I did and just go grab it right after you pay for it.) Overall, I loved everything and all the things about this place. Nice seating areas, nice environment , helpful workers, convenient parking! And most importantly, delicious food. Definitely be visiting this place again!
