When we first pulled into the parking lot and it was empty I was a little unsure about eating at El Rincon. Boy, was I blown away! We are spoiled with amazing food in Seattle, so when I tell you that this food is great, believe it! Not only is El Rincon adorable inside, but the service was amazing too. Our server, I wish I knew her name, was adorable, happy, and made one heck of a margarita! I had the shredded beef tostada off the lunch menu and it was delicious, the margaritas weren't too sour, and the salsa is sweet as well as has some heat. I highly recommend! read more

This place is my go to for my area in hillyard! They have excellent food and good prices! Me and my bf order the "Martin's Favorite" which is shrimp, steak and chicken (separate not mixed together) with rice, beans and tortillas ( I think it also comes with chips and salsa) for around $20. it's so good and so much food that me and my bf can share it and be completely full. That's a steal IMO. I highly suggest trying them out because they are more than deserving of everyone's business! read more

Excellent food, really small parking lot and wonderful staff. Everything I have tried is fantastic, the burritos, their chicken mole, and their chips n' salsa rank amongst my favs. The parking is real tight and people love driving their giant trucks to eat their, so prepare yourself for tight quarters. This is a favorite place to eat for my wife and I. Today we ordered Pollo Con Crema and Ricos Taquitos (beef). Even as a to-go order the food is better than any other Mexican restaurant we have found in the Spokane area. When the beans and rice are delicious and the salsa incredible you know they care about their food. I am willing to work there for a few weeks for free to just try and learn how they make the food so tasty. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. It was a lazy Saturday and the family was craving "good mexican food", which has been tough for us to find since we moved here 8 years ago. We'd long given up on finding a sit-down mexican restaurant in Spokane that didn't taste like the generic mexican-american boorish stuff. Though not as authentic as possible, this place is a solid notch above its Spokane peers - Great service, fresh food that tasted great, and a nice atmosphere. Our table sampled the chicken taquitos as an app- flakey,l and tons of chicken and tasty! For entrees: The carne asada had good flavor, loved it; the arroz con pollo was delicious, the enchiladas "stuffed with meat you don't have to look for" and the chille relleno (spelling?) was well above average. Overall a very good dinner - large portions (you can share or plan for leftovers) - Unanimous for our table / we'd all gladly return. This is the place to eat great food! Try the Martin Plate with a side of Chile's (Cooked Jalapeños covered with lime and salt) and a dark Mexican beer to wash it down. SO far this is the best Mexican that I have found in Spokane. They have solid margaritas and the chicken/shrimp/beef fajitas were pretty decent. I also loved their salsa; it has a nice kick to it. Fresh tortilla chips were accompanied by a flavorful salsa with a mild heat. Por supuesto, Bryan asked the server if there was a hotter salsa available. The answer? "Ghost pepper salsa"! Yes, it is hot! Cuidado! As for drinks, Dawn and Kyra were quite happy. The meals were also excellent. In particular, the Spinach Enchiladas that I had were devoured quite quickly! They were so good! El Rincon Tapatio is not bad, nor are they very good. Americanized Mexican food, weak salsa, frozen guacamole, and high prices make them comparable to Azteca without the nice Azteca atmosphere. Again their food is not bad and if compared to some of the scarier Spokane establishments trying to imitate Mexican food they would look good. If you think Azteca is great you will like El Rincon, if you think DeLeon's or Mr. Don's is great then you will be disappointed. read more

Really Good Food. We adventured off the South Hill on Saturday and took Yelp's advice... Like most Mexican restaurants in Spokane- Rincon Tapatio's building is painted bright yellow, with a blinking neon OPEN sign in the window. (Not a lot of parking but the building next door was vacant so we parked there.) We were greeted by a friendly waiter and a seriously good mariachi band on the radio. The place was nice and clean and fairly quiet except for a handful of other customer deep in their fajita platters. House chips and salsa are free and the authentic pico de gallo is soo good! I ordered the Flautas Especial. The shredded beef was delicious, juicy and so well seasoned; wrapped and fried in a puffed (tostada?) tortilla.YUM! He ordered the house Tacos Carbon with chicken. The meat was tender and spicy, double wrapped in warm corn tortillas. Both of us ordered meals that came with rice and re-fried pinto beans which I, personally, could have ordered all by themselves and been impressed. The rice was perfectly cooked with all the right spices and the beans were served hot with not-too-much cheese. Also on the plate; sour cream, guacamole, shredded lettuce and tomato salsa. We drank 2 house margaritas (blended) a piece :) And stayed a while to play trivia on our phones and listen to the music. The atmosphere was relaxed, I felt no pressure to leave. I would say that next time I might try the margarita on the rocks- they make a good drink and the blended ice takes away from the well mixed cocktail. We'll definitely go back! read more

After doing an extensive review of Spokane's Mexican restaurants we decided to give this new find a visit. I am so happy we did! The establishment itself is a bit small but all the wonderful and bright decor makes you feel comfortable. We were promptly served water, warm chips and mild salsa. A combo as perfect as one can imagine. I was so happy with my decision to order the Mole Mexicano, nearly 3 giant and moist chicken breast filets covered in a rich sweet, savory and spicy sauce. Best Mexican food in Spokane! OMG! We are huge Mexican food fans and have been to many in Spokane. Most are pretty good but they all taste about the same. But seriously, this is THE BEST. From the outside, it looks like a little hole-in-the-wall (which always makes the best food), but inside is so cute and the sombreros over the tables were perfect. The wait staff was very friendly. The salsa was amazing and tasted very fresh! Huge portions. I usually can only eat about 1/3 to 1/2 my plate at a Mexican restaurant but this was so good that I ate the whole thing. I'm also pregnant so, there's that. But I literally can't stop thinking about this place and I can't wait to go back. It's our new favorite and can't wait to bring our family in from out of town.
