Definitely a noteworthy taco spot! The quality of the food really stands out, and I love that everything is à la carte so you can mix and match. The corn tortillas were especially amazing and really made the tacos. My friend is gluten free so it was perfect. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Walked in and it looked nice and clean. The menu looked super good and interesting. Not your average street tacos. I decided to take a risk and try some that sounded unique. I got the fried chicken taco wjth a hazelnut matcha butter and Gorgonzola. Which was very yummy, then I got the pork belly with an asparagus salsa. Lastly I got two of the birria tacos. Overall the two street tacos were very good, perhaps both an 8/10 but the birria tacos were a little disappointing because their dipping sauce was basically flavorless. And the whole thing desperately needed salt. I ended up ditching the sauce and just using a bottled green sauce which was very yummy. Both my coworkers who also got the birria agreed it was not very good. They stuffed the tacos full of beef tho. The service was a little funky, we came in a big group and she insisted on taking all of our order at the same time and then had us pay separately after we all ordered, that required quite a bit of shuffling around among us 7, a bit confusing. Also, I ordered a soft drink and the bartender handed me a cup that was not full. Very strange. So I asked him to top it off, and his response was "sure, but just so you know, you get free refills" like okay? So because I get free refills you don't fill the cup up? From start to finish, my experience was amazing. Just walking in, the gentleman behind the bar was welcoming and showed me the menu and talk me through everything I ended up going with the two tacos and rice and beans plate. He recommend the lamb taco which, I don't typically eat lamb, but the taco was out of this world. I washed it all down with one of their homemade house margaritas. Today I had a great experience at finding at finding a wonderful Mexican food place. It's on Riverside Avenue. You can come inside and dine. And they have catering too. They have soft drinks with your meal or if you prefer you can get a Margarita or an assorted other hard drinks. They serve a lot of tacos. All of them probably really good. I just love a good taco. I was recommended to this place by several Gonzaga parents but I'm not sure if they have had experience with good Mexican before ‍ The whole experience was a let down. We went and sat at a booth & waited for a long time for our food & we're never given water or told where we could get water, finally my daughter went & asked & was told what to do. Finally a girl came to our to table with a plate & said she had something but we didn't recognize the name of the item so we said oh we had a quesadilla? & she said no did you have a.... & whatever the name was & we were like idk is it a quesadilla? & she said no oh I must have the wrong take so then she left.... & then a minute later came back & said the same thing & we said idk if you being a menu we can show you what we ordered but it was some sort of quesadilla. She was acting so confused & like they didn't have quesadillas when it clearly looked like a quesadilla she was carrying. Anyhow she left went and got a menu & came back & we pointed to the one and only quesadilla item on the menu & she said oh ok yes that's this idk it was just very weird. Then maybe 5-8mins later my single taco came out & my daughters 2 tacos & rice & beans. I didn't like my taco at all, it had an interested sauce that I've never had on a carne asada taco & wasn't a fan of. My daughter said her birria taco was ok & better than the carne asada taco. They were both small for about $6 each so can't say I'd come here again, but was cool to try. $27 for 4 tacos is a bit steep especially since they were small. Wow wow wow! I'm so impressed with this place-- these tacos are a MUST TRY! The meat in every. single. taco... was cooked to perfection! So tender and juicy! The lady who took my order was so helpful with the menu and was so thoughtful to check in to make sure I loved my drink. Was in town visiting and decided to try this place since it was by our hotel. We were there in April and it was a beautiful day so to our surprise the heat took over the restaurant. It was so hot and muggy in there we ended up sitting outside. The lines were long and took quite some time and you're not allowed to sit at a table until after ordering. That's a bit annoying since the restaurant is already so small. The waiters were rude, unfortunately we were in their way but.. again we're just standing in line. Food came out fairly quick... after we finished our drinks. We all got different tacos and everyone got at least one birria taco. Pretty much the saltiest birria taco I've ever had. I was with a few male colleagues and they couldn't even eat it even though they usually eat everything and hate wasting food. The portions are horrible aaaaand YES these are tiny small street tacos size it's the portions that make these look bigger than they are. Also ordered chips and salsa to get a salad dressing container of salsa. I spent 68 bucks on tacos and chips and salsa and next time will be at an actual restaurant for real portions. This restaurant was listed in an article about the best restaurants in Washington state. My daughter went there and had nothing but great things to say about it. So my husband and I made sure we ate there on a recent stay in Spokane (middle of June, 2026). When you first walk in the door (and we arrived early, thank God), there are paper menus to pick up. You think you should go straight to finding a table, but NO no no. If you look to your right you will see a big sign instructing you to order at the counter and THEY will find you a table. This was my first time here and there was no line, so I really didn't want to walk up to the counter and order hastily. My husband had a great idea. He would order us margaritas and I grabbed a table to wait. Not really correct, but I felt okay about it as the place wasn't crowded ... yet. Well we watched as everybody walked in and headed straight for a table. The servers had to tell each and every one of them to get in line and wait for the staff to send them to a table. Awkward to watch. However, we had a fantastic time. The food was incredible. I highly recommend the birria tacos, the tostada appetizer, and the churros. We also enjoyed the margaritas and the server told us if we needed any additional drinks to just come up to the bar and step to the left of the line and he would take care of us. Stopped here for lunch during our National Parks roadtrip... never been to Spokane (or Washington) before but if you are road-tripping and are craving street tacos with a twist... this is it! We tried 4 different tacos (octopus, rockfish, 20 hour asada, carnitas) and the summer salad. The bartenders/hostesses behind the counter were super nice and made a great margarita, very refreshing, not super sweet. For me the stand-out was the salad and the octopus taco (had a smokey flavor), my husband said his favorite was the 20 hour asada (tender meat, big flavor)... but everything we tried was really good. We probably won't ever be back to Spokane, which is too bad, bc this place was 5 stars on food and friendly faces... a real plus when you've been stuck in the car for six hours. More like Mexican and taqueria inspired, the elote was just corn in a bowl with someone's twist, not bad but misleading. Same with the birria torta, it's not birria it's sweet barbecue pulled pork with sourdough bread and the consume is water and oil. The horchata was from a premade bottle so taste wasn't bad but was more on the thick rice-y side; so not much a drink there. We are in Spokane for my wife's Immersion - which tasks us with finding something delicious for dinner each night. Tonight, we had Cochinito Taqueria and the food was everything we were desiring. To start the customer service was amazing. Shayne took our order and not only was he immensely knowledgeable but his helpful commentary on the menu and warm presence immediately made us excited. We happened to stop in during Happy Hour making all of our tacos a dollar off and we also happened to catch the Pork Belly right before their menu switched over to the Fall menu. You order before you seat and they have the cutest cards to signify which table you are at - a touch that adds the eloquently integrated cultural developments. We ordered a total of 8 tacos (3 of them being the Pork Belly - no shame there), 2 Agua Frescas, and an order of Churros. Heritage Duroc Pork Cheek Carnitas 9/10 This taco was light and still packed flavor. I would've liked a bit more of the cheese, but the flavor in each component held its own. The carnitas were seasoned very well Lamb Merguez 10/10 The flavor profile of this taco was so unique the mint chutney adds the perfect hit to compliment the hazelnut salsa mach and it finished with the quest fresco made for both a fresh and flavorful bite. 20 HR Carne Asada 10/10 Tender, fall to pieces in your mouth, fully flavorful meat all sat in this taco. The corn even adhered to the flavor of the meat and overall had a beautiful presentation and flavor in each bite. The juices of the meat also surrounded the shell of the taco and held all of the flavors in one. Pescado 6/10 I can tell that this taco is the perfect taco for someone if you like a hint of sweet to your flavor. The rockfish alone did not carry a lot of flavors, but the Chile mango gel was a bit much for me. Pork Belly 10/10 We legitimately cannot believe we will not have access to this taco starting tomorrow due to the menu turning over. The succotash and the pepitas topped with the most delicious and flavorful chimichurri made this a treat that we had to have multiple. Beef Short Rib Birria 10/10 Matched with a consommé that had its own flavor, this taco was a warm burst of flavor and perfection. The short rib definitely deserves the notoriety it earned from both Shayne and everyone else who came in after us singing its praises along with the Pork Belly. While there weren't a ton of ingredients, the flavors flowed together with perfect execution. Churros w/ Cajeta 10/10 Those churros were magical. As a churro they held their own and had the perfect blend of cinnamon and their flavor. The Cajeta was the perfect addition, its sweetness served as a compliment to the cinnamon and the fact that they were fresh and warm sealed the deal. We have a few more days in Spokane and we will definitely have to stop in again before we go. So happy to have found a spot with amazing customer service and delicious flavorful food. read more
