    Chips and salsa bar
    Jeff R.

This is close to home and a place that I really enjoy. It's not for everyone to be sure, but it makes me happy to dive in to a burrito or in this case, a chimichanga, every now and again. The place has always been clean and tidy when I've been in. Burritos are huge as is the chimi. In fact I weighed the #20 and it came in at just over 3lbs of food. More than I can handle. Is it outstanding food? No. Is it a great value for the price and taste decent at the same time? Yes. There are others like it locally, but these guys are just a step up in quality. Worth a try.

Interesting take on Chips & Salsa...

The Mothership for the Gerardo name in our metro. We love ours in Cheney, but we were camping nearby, so... Flavors are very consistent, between the three restos, so expect the expected. I greatly enjoy the way they spice every single dish the make. Wifey lives by the Fajita Mix, and I cross my fingers for being able to finish off what she doesn't manage. I'm an Adovada Quesadilla guy, and every order I get from these locations always gives me two good meals. Such a nice family, too...

One of the tastiest salsa bars in the area with unlimited chips if you order a burrito. Get the adobada chimichanga. Squeeze two limes into some hot sauce. Use them on the burrito. The salsa bar is to die for...especially the orange sauce. The pico is amazing! And they do NOT skimp on lines! You will not regret this decision.

    Shredded Beef Taco w/"guacamole".

After reading so many great reviews of this place, we stopped for a late lunch. It's quite dark when you go in and the only menu is on the top of a wall. With it being so dark, I couldn't even see what they had. The person at the counter wasn't any help. We finally managed to order the carnitas plate and a taco. There was a charge of 99 cents for "guacamole". The beans were pretty bland but tasted house made and the rice was pretty standard. The carnitas were wonderful - crispy as requested. The taco was pretty greasy even though the meat was shredded beef. Actually the shell was so hard that when I took a bite the whole shell fell apart. My very biggest disappointment was what they call "guacamole". It was a very thin creamy green sauce with no flavor. And to charge for it is ridiculous. There are so many good Mexican restaurants in Spokane I doubt we'll ever go back.

    Hashbrown Burrito

Came for the hashbrown breakfast burrito at 10am on a saturday, no line! It was packed with meat, under $10 and i could tell it was made fresh. Great customer service, i will definitely be driving through again soon. Show this place some love!

What you see is a chunk of partially chewed California burrito i ordered late at night.

Well, my California burrito had a long hair inside of it. I had ordered 2 California burritos, and 1 chicken burrito for a late night dinner for my kids and myself. When I got home and settled into bed I started in eating my California burrito. Part way into it I was chewing and discovered a long hair in my mouth. I reached and extracted it along with the clump of food hanging from it, as seen in the photo. So I called Gerardo's to complain about the hair. The lady that answered sounded more offended than concerned about the fact that I found a hair. She never said sorry, she just said I could come get a new one right now if I wanted to, however it was 10pm, and I told her it was to late and I was in bed. She said she would allow me to swing tomorrow only to get a replacement. But only the next day. She took my name and number, and I said I wasn't sure if I would be able to come in. She said she would only offer the replacement the next day. How is that for service for my neighborhood restaurant. I'm only 1 block away. They should have just put a note that they owed me a burrito and allowed me to choose when I claimed the time to redeem it. It was their hair in my burrito in the first place.

Is this the same ownership of the Gerardo's that was by Sprague and Bowdish years ago?

Yes! I used to go to Abelardo's a lot. Was sad when they closed that location.

The lights above the booths were made with sombreros- charming. I had a basic Margarita and it was nicely balanced. The salsa with the chips was very hot so we asked if they had a milder salsa and they did. We split a #5 Combo that had a shredded beef burrito and a chili relleno. It was served with refried beans (delicious) and rice (better than most). A couple of notes... sour cream ($2.95 extra) and guacamole ($3.95) were add ons if you wanted them. They also charge $2.00 per basket of chips after the first. We didn't need another, just noticed it at the bottom of the menu. Street tacos were good, served in double corn tortillas. The shredded beef was very moist and good. The chili relleno was really good, very cheesy. Our server was prompt and friendly, checking back to see how things were. The menu prices were above what I expected but the food was very good.

I really loved the decorations inside- colorful, festive, and some really neat Dia De Los Muertos styled paintings. Our server was great and went through the menu...lots of selections. I wasn't super hungry so I got 3 street tacos (1 al pastor, 1 carnitas and 1 tinga). My son got an al pastor quesadilla and my wife got pollo tacos. The chips and salsa were good and held us over until the food came. When the food came they also brought out 3 more salsas in squeeze bottles and all of these were great too. All 3 of my street were very flavorful and all incredibly tender. Sometimes chicken and carnitas can be pretty bland but not here...these were exactly what I was looking for. My family loved their food as well and we left wishing we had a Los Habaneros Taqueria back in AZ! When I was paying for our meal at the cashier several people were picking up to go meals and heard we were from AZ visiting and both parties said we found the best spot in Spokane for Mexican food. I don't doubt them for a minute...this was dynamite.

Totally understandable, but our second server couldn't have cared less about our dining experience. We had to ask for a salsa and chip refill six times before it arrived at our table- I wish I was kidding. Our dirty appetizer dishes, plates and drink glasses sat on the table our entire meal, and no one came back to check on us. We also had to flag down our server when we wanted to order our dinner, more drinks, and ask for more water. Most disappointing of all, our graduation party, that no one asked us about, had 8 people meaning this awful service got tipped 18%. I completely understand having automatic gratuity on large parties, but the service needs to be worth that 18% if you're going to charge it. This was our first and last time at Molé. The food and drinks truly were good, but the bad service outweighs the good eats.

The food was amazing, the people were great, and I was excited to come back. Yesterday, my girlfriend and I planned a date night and decided to order from here again. Since we have kids, we did pickup. We drove about 25 minutes, then waited another 25 minutes because the line was packed which I didn't mind because the food was that good the first time. But this time? Completely different experience. I ordered a bean burrito with cheese... and it had no beans. Just rice and cheese in a tortilla. Then the nachos, honestly, for $27, this was unacceptable. Dry chips, unmelted cheese, some tomatoes thrown on top, no meat, no beans just thrown together with no care. It looked and tasted like an afterthought. What made it worse is the lack of accountability. I tried calling multiple times last night and again this morning no answer. Calls just ring or don't go through. I even tried calling from different numbers. Nothing. At this point, it's not even about the money it's the principle. Mistakes happen, but not being able to reach anyone or have them make it right is frustrating. I really wanted to keep supporting this place because the first experience was great, but this completely missed the mark. If you go, just be aware the quality and consistency might not be what you expect.

I got the taco salad with traditional ground beef and my friend ordered the 2 enchiladas combo meal, one with ground beef and the other with chicken. Food arrived pretty quick and both plates were hot and looked super fresh. My taco salad shell had a great cook to it, not overly crunchy hurting your gums but definitely not soggy either. It was a perfect tender crunch. Visually the lettuce, tomato, and shredded cheeses were bright, crisp, and really fresh. The ground beef was flavorful and not overly seasoned and I loved that it was still juicy, not greasy. Although it was a simple taco salad, each ingredient stood out on its own and the fresh guac and sour cream complimented the meal well making for a nice lunch. My friend said the enchilada meal is a fav and also favored the ground beef vs the chicken. However, it's worth noting the chicken was good too but today it seemed like the ground beef was on point for the both of us.
