    Quesabirra plate
    Jeff R.

I've been wanting to try this place for a while now. It's certainly been trending in local food social media. Upon entering it's and odd trip up some stairs with the first level seating being full of drink inventory. The nice guy at the counter took our order quickly and we had a seat in the dining area nearby. A short while later our food was delivered to the table and it looked good. Our dishes were the quisabirra plate and asada fries. Both were pretty good, but nothing that all that memorable. The jalapeños that were on the side are not tame at all and have some serious bite. There was also some fresh guacamole on the side that was very good. The quisabirra was good and is a significant amount of food. The most frustrating thing about the meal was the lousy plastic forks that are supplied. They wouldn't penetrate the fries or quisabirra which made eating an unnecessary challenge.

I was really hoping to love this place but it fell so short. It wasn't very tasty. Everything in the salsa bar was warm. Literally warm. Not even cool. The aqua Fresca were so sweet even my kids didn't drink them. The food. No one ate theirs. We went home with to go boxes full that sat in the fridge and then got tossed. Restaurant doesn't seem very clean. No napkins. I'll definitely choose my fav go to spots in the future. Maybe it will get better but I just was not in love.

Do yourself a favor and satisfy your taste buds with authentic food. This place is the best. It's small and always busy but rightfully so. You won't be disappointed. You also won't leave hungry. This place serves up the dishes and don't skimp on ingredients. Those tacos are packed full of meat.

Delicioso!! I've been wanting to try this place out ever since I've seen Spokane food finder Facebook page. I was Northside so I thought I would give it a try. It did not disappoint. He was actually hard to choose as everything looked amazing. I ended up going with two cheese tacos and some consomme. My son got the asada fries and the mango water. They had so many options of fruit Waters it was hard to choose. There is a little bar with tons of limes fresh salsa pickled onions and a plethora of sauces. It was very crowded which is a good sign that it's going to be amazing. You stand in line, order, pay, and get your beverage. Next you have a seat and you wait for your food to come on out. I gave it 15% tip right from the get-go as it was and the option when you pay but I usually prefer to tip after my meal. Tips usually go along with the service. Other than them handing my son his fruit water and then bringing my food there wasn't a lot of service. I get my own condiments and I even cleared my own table. My son was only able to eat half of his food but I polished mine off. Best cheese tacos I've ever had. Next time I want to try the Ramen and churros. I will most definitely be back. Maybe it won't be as crowded next time once the newness of this place wears off.

This place reminds me of the food I grew up on in SoCal. Not exactly the same but close enough. The staff is super friendly. A lot of great fresca drink choices. I love the salsas and that they have all the fixings for your tacos in a salad bar style! My torta was good but I felt the bread to meat ratio was lacking but my tacos felt loaded! All the flavors were great. The price is nice and the food is good with fast service. I have been recommending this place for tacos. I found out they sell pozole and I really wanna try it. Overall great food in Spokane. It's a place I want to eat at when I drive by even when I am not hungry. Give it a try and I don't think you will regret it!

Sooooo good! Friendly staff, clean and amazing cheese taco with consome! We ordered the asada fries and even dipped them in the consome. We'll be back

There's a lot to like here and a few things that are quite frustrating. From the start, this places kinda reminds me of Atilanos only cleaner inside and with better food. It's an oddly configured building with a walk up to get to the ordering station. There were 5 people in front of us and it took us 20 minutes to order. Probably should add an order station to expedite because there were at least 3 parties behind us left because of the long wait. The low speed at the cashier helped bail out the slow kitchen, though. After we ordered, it was another 20 minutes to get our food. Was it worth the wait, well... we really had no choice. It was good. Asada fries had a lot going on with great flavors however the meat was extremely dry. Next time I'll ask for the Birria instead. Wife ordered the street tacos--they were the biggest street tacos I've ever seen which made the $3 quite reasonable. The birria itself was pretty good. The beef was obviously slow roasted, tender, and moist. They included a nice selection of sauces and condiments but be CAREFUL!! One of the condiments of pickled veg included ghost (or maybe habanero) peppers--my mouth and innards are still recovering. Definitely want to return to try the quessbirria and the birria pizza.

My daughter found this place and it was soooo good. I had the ramen, mangonada and churro. Definitely recommend.

Fun spot to try birria anything! They also have non-birria options, too. The birria plate was a large portion for one person and came w several warm tortillas, but a bit drier than I usually expect of a birria stewed meat. The soft birria tacos were good--just added some raw onions and chile sauce from the toppings bar and they were perfect. Also has a great option for fruit drinks and desserts. Try the platanos fritos which is fried plantains with strawberries, white and milk chocolate drizzle, and whip cream. Was not what I was expecting, but even better haha

Birreria Tijuana just made its way from the West side of the state. It was a viral sensation on social media before it opened, generating excitement in local foodie groups with drool-worthy pictures of yummyness to come. Needless to say, I had to try it! The verdict: definitely delicious and a value for the price! I had the keto taco. What makes it keto, you ask? No tortilla! The "faux-tilla" is just delicious griddled cheese, cooked until it's crispy and filled with delightful birria. It's delicious and a low-guilt meal if you're carb-conscious. My husband is *not* worried about carbs, so he had the famous quesabirria. It's beef birria inside tortillas that are layered together and cheese melted between them. You then take the taco and dip it into consome (broth) derived from cooking the meat. The consome is not pictured here, but it is actually the reason I didn't rate these guys five stars. Consome is super important to birria (like great fry sauce for French fries). This consome tasted watered down. I wished it had more flavor! The same was true of the rice and beans--they were pretty bland as far as Mexican sides go. The quesabirria itself was wonderful. So was the agua fresca my daughter had. The name is deceiving, though; this is definitely not water, but juice and it comes with pulp of the fruit used to make it. Overall, we enjoyed this place and the prices make it worth the trip.

Been hearing about the hype of this place had to come and check it out. Place is slamming with people. The wait wasn't to bad price was ok. But the food was amazing. I will be back again to try something new. I had the cheese birria taco and it was great.

I've been here more times then I like to admit, once a week I'm telling someone about this place. My go to order consistent of: 3 tacos duros , side of consomé, Agua de Jamaica (not spa water ) and the fried plátanos. Happy to have more Latin food by a Latino owner!!!! It was always be a different experience and I'm so happy to have them in Spokane. Thank you to Freddy and his amazing staff that work hard to make this place what it is.

Wifes Vampirro taco $5 w/ added onions from bar. Made 2 meals - She loved it!

Reminds me of https://www.eltepeyac.cafe/ in east L.A. because of the juiciness of the meat and the yummyness of the flavors. Allow 5 to 10 min to wait in the order line (the place is packed) but the order up time is pretty quick. The food is fabulous - nuff said!

I really loved the decorations inside- colorful, festive, and some really neat Dia De Los Muertos styled paintings. Our server was great and went through the menu...lots of selections. I wasn't super hungry so I got 3 street tacos (1 al pastor, 1 carnitas and 1 tinga). My son got an al pastor quesadilla and my wife got pollo tacos. The chips and salsa were good and held us over until the food came. When the food came they also brought out 3 more salsas in squeeze bottles and all of these were great too. All 3 of my street were very flavorful and all incredibly tender. Sometimes chicken and carnitas can be pretty bland but not here...these were exactly what I was looking for. My family loved their food as well and we left wishing we had a Los Habaneros Taqueria back in AZ! When I was paying for our meal at the cashier several people were picking up to go meals and heard we were from AZ visiting and both parties said we found the best spot in Spokane for Mexican food. I don't doubt them for a minute...this was dynamite.

I got the fried chicken taco wjth a hazelnut matcha butter and Gorgonzola. Which was very yummy, then I got the pork belly with an asparagus salsa. Lastly I got two of the birria tacos. Overall the two street tacos were very good, perhaps both an 8/10 but the birria tacos were a little disappointing because their dipping sauce was basically flavorless. And the whole thing desperately needed salt. I ended up ditching the sauce and just using a bottled green sauce which was very yummy. Both my coworkers who also got the birria agreed it was not very good. They stuffed the tacos full of beef tho. The service was a little funky, we came in a big group and she insisted on taking all of our order at the same time and then had us pay separately after we all ordered, that required quite a bit of shuffling around among us 7, a bit confusing. Also, I ordered a soft drink and the bartender handed me a cup that was not full. Very strange. So I asked him to top it off, and his response was "sure, but just so you know, you get free refills" like okay? So because I get free refills you don't fill the cup up?
