Another place I have driven by and seen on the food groups for ages, but decided to stop by out of sheer spontaneity. Honestly, I was a little surprised to have our main hostess be American AF, but she was lovely. For a moment, my companion was balking at the prices because she has a small appetite, but she literally walked out with enough for three more meals and enjoyed every single one. Happened to be in Spokane so we stopped in on a Thursday evening. The service was fast. The enchilada suizas were tasty and spicey. We also had a combo enchilada tostada which was plentiful, but lukewarm. The inside has a nice mexican decor with music to set the vibe. It was traditional American Mexican food and pretty good. We went for a late lunch so parking was easy. (Although south Market Street was bumper to bumper.) I was so surprised by the "happy" decor and furniture. The lights above the booths were made with sombreros- charming. I had a basic Margarita and it was nicely balanced. The salsa with the chips was very hot so we asked if they had a milder salsa and they did. We split a #5 Combo that had a shredded beef burrito and a chili relleno. It was served with refried beans (delicious) and rice (better than most). A couple of notes... sour cream ($2.95 extra) and guacamole ($3.95) were add ons if you wanted them. They also charge $2.00 per basket of chips after the first. We didn't need another, just noticed it at the bottom of the menu. Street tacos were good, served in double corn tortillas. The shredded beef was very moist and good. The chili relleno was really good, very cheesy. Our server was prompt and friendly, checking back to see how things were. Stopped in with my family for the first time and we loved our meal. It's a small place but colorful and quaint. I was hesitant at first because you could drive by and miss it if you weren't looking. But the heaps of good reviews made it hard to not try. It was lunch time and only one server but he was working hard and did great. I ordered the Huevoes Rancheros, my Hubby had the Chorizo and was, my two kiddos had carne asada and son-in-law had a combo platter with chicken enchilada and chicken tamale. My meal was good....I've never tried Huevos Rancheros so I don't have anything to base it on. But it was good with the runny egg, covered in red sauce and melty cheese on top of corn tortillas. It came with the standard sides of beans and rice but I even thought those were really tasty. My kids had the carne asada which is their go-to meal. The noises of pleasure coming from them meant they loved it. I snuck a piece of meat and can agree with their ooohs and aahhhs! The meat was tender, juicy (not overcooked jerky) and had a great flavor. My son enjoyed the crispy charred edges. Both said this was in their top 3 carne asada plates. My hubby likes his chorizo and eggs but did say he thought it didn't have enough flavor. But he mainly likes pork chorizo so I am wondering if they serve beef chorizo.? So his opinion may simply be based on his chorizo preference, don't mind him, you may enjoy it. My son-in-law had the chicken enchilada and chicken tamale. He was also making noises of satisfaction and said multiple times that he likes it and liked the place. He's from the Yakima area where Mexican food is in abundance so I trust his judgement. read more

I see why this place gets highly reviews. Everything was good; food, service and the authentic atmosphere. The margarita was not bad and I could taste the tequila. The chimichanga was actually really good and not bad for its size. I love chips and salsa. However, not a fan of theirs. While I appreciate that they are free it is one of the things that drives me to go out for Mexican food. Still, it won't keep me from coming back. read more

Parking was a bit weird, but we made it work after some sideways looks and gestures from the next door cement employees. My update is looonnnngggg overdue! We don't get out as often as we should and a visit to our favorite Mexican place was needed. Although this update is a replica of the previous reports. I had the SUPER combo and loved it, as always. The skirt steak is outstanding. The taco is huge and tasty. The chicken enchilada and chili relleno were as good as always. I mostly brought those home though as there is so much food there and I can't eat it all. Their rice if fluffy and very good as are the refried beans. I dare YOU to eat it all! My wife had her usual chili relleno and burrito and ate her entire dinner. Obviously, we love the food, and the service is outstanding. Parking can be an issue. But even if you had to park and walk there, it would be worth it. read more

I have been to Rincon Tapatio n number of times and never ever have they delivered below par. The food, service, taste, place, staff everything is just superlative. Hands down the best Mexican place around and I never miss an opportunity to be here. The place is neat and clean and tidy and I absolutely love to be here. Also, the fact that you could get quite a few vegetarian items is a big bonus as a lot of my friends are vegetarian and they never say no to El Rincon Tapatio. If you are a vegetarian (don't prefer meat) just get their veggie fajita and it would be the tastiest thing you would have had in a long long time. It is just flavor after flavor after flavor. So good. My favorite is the ever reliable Arroz con pollo but no one makes it like they do it here. Absolutely loaded and tastiest. Highly recommend .. probably you will find me there :) read more

Last night was our first visit, we needed some good food after my daughters basketball game and this place had good reviews on Yelp so we decided to try it out. It is a cute little place right off of Market st. super easy to find! Kinda in a strip mall type thing so not a free standing restaurant and it is on the smaller side so it is not great for big parties but they quickly made room for our party of 6. Service was fast and friendly the restaurant was clean and so cute with sombreros hanging over all of the booths and the cutest tables and chairs. You get the typical salsa and chips which came out right away they were not the best we have had but were good! We had a variety of food between the 6 of us, Nachos, Chalupas, Burritos, Chili Rellenos, Enchiladas Quesadilla's and French frys, Yes you read that right french frys lol my 7 year old got some with her quesadilla and let me tell you they were amazing!! Actually everything was really good, great flavors. You could tell a lot of it, if not all was homemade. The portions are huge I only made it through about 1/3 of my plate. Prices were pretty normal. Kids meals were $6.95 and the rest of ours ranged from $10.95 to $14.95 so not cheap but not real spendy just normal. I have one complaint and it is my only reason for not giving 5 stars. I ordered shredded beef and once I re heated my leftovers for lunch today I noticed that my Chalupa was made with Chicken and there was also chicken in my enchilada which normally would not be a big deal but I am not a fan of dark meat chicken it changes the flavor of foods so I don't ever order chicken in restaurants. If I would have noticed last night I would have sent it back. Other then that I loved it and will be back for sure. read more

Being from California it can be very hard to find what I consider good Mexican food in Spokane. My coworker insisted that this place has great food so I finally gave it a try. I ordered a burrito and just wanted beans salsa lettuce and guacamole. The flavor was good and the salsa was thankfully not made from canned tomatoes. I asked for it to go so they put it on a paper plate and wrapped foil over it. The salsa immediately started spilling out and the burrito became very so messy I had to eat it with a fork. I wished they could have just wrapped it in foil like a burrito you hold in your hand from a Taqueria. Anyways, it's the best Mexican food I've had so far in Spokane, so would like to go back and try something else to see how that is. read more

Went in for lunch. They have daily tequila specials which is nice. Nothing on the high end, but you can get a shot of tequila for 6 bucks. Everything was a little pricey for lunch 13ish bucks for one of their small combos. Everything is getting expensive now though. Food was very good. Staff was very friendly. read more
