Stuffed Anaheim Peppers Chorizo and cheese blend stuffed pepper, habanero pepita machaca salsa, avocado puree, tomatillo ketchup

The hype is real! The food was amazing! Very delicious and flavorful! We started with the Stuffed Anaheim Peppers. We were warned they were spicy, but we didn't find them too spicy. We did find them perfect. All the flavors worked really well together. For entrees, we tried their Braised Short Ribs and Prawn Paella. I also tried their Spicy House Made Margarita. The Braised Short Ribs were absolutely delicious. My friend was only going to eat half, but they were so good, she ate the whole dish. She said that the potato croquettes it came with were the best she has ever had. The Prawn Paella was also very tasty! It was filled with plenty of protein. The saffron rice was perfect and the saffron aioli was an added bonus. The Spicy Margarita was a tad spicy, but not too spicy. It's made with Serrano Pepper infused tequila and has a Tajin rim. It's a small place, so definitely make a reservation. Today, we didn't need one, but yesterday they were packed. So just plan ahead.

Impressive! If you appreciate good food, you live in the Spokane area and you haven't been here yet, you are missing out! The empanada was the best I've ever had. Everything was beautiful and delicious. Service was quick and attentive. Can recommend this place highly enough. Will definitely be back!

Tucked into a fun little up and coming Spokane district, the understated exterior hides a fresh and ingenious take on Brazilian fare. The menu was creative, staff was incredibly hospitable, food was outstanding, and you can share if you have a lighter appetite. Get an appetizer and a meal. Try the most unique items on the menu. You won't be disappointed!

Service: our server was prompt and friendly enough. Not overly so, but we got what we needed in a timely manner. Atmosphere: it's got a bit of a dive bar feel to it. Nothing fancy, seat yourself kind of vibe. Definitely not fancy, but still nice. You can make reservations, but they were pretty slow at 6pm on a Tuesday so we probably didn't need to. From what I hear they have an amazing outdoor space, but we didn't get the chance to see it. Food: I wanted an old fashioned but they were out of cherries. I ended up going with the spicy margarita. It was really good. Despite how it looked at first it wasn't too sweet at all and it had the perfect kick for me. Tacos Whettos - yum. I started with the tacos and they are delicious. I actually make barbacoa beef at home and it tastes just like this! So good! I am going to have to step my game up though - the sauce they put of these and the crispy shell. Yum. So good! El Cubano: wasn't for me. It was my first time trying a cubano and I have to say, if this is a good one - I'm not trying another. The bread was falling apart, the texture was odd, and it was SO GREASY, which is one reason the bread was falling apart. The fries it came with also weren't great. They tasted almost like the insides were dust or hallow. Everyone else I was with got the short ribs and they all loved it. It was a good experience and I'm glad I tried them. I'm not opposed to trying them again - I'm just not in a rush.

    Braised short rib.

Wow - what a treat Kismet is! Their menu is full of great traditional Mexican fare, as well as some unexpected dishes. We went to town, ordering Arepa cakes, ceviche (appetizers), braised Short Ribs, Duck Confit Carnita (entrees), and Tres Leches cake. The Arepa cakes and Short Ribs were outstanding, but the Duck was phenomenal! With a caramel Mole and a spicy black bean spicy ragu that went with it. Frankky, it's kind of indescribable - something you have to try. I can't say enough about Kismet, a homey but elevated take on all types of foid. Finish it with a Tres Leches cake like we did, cooked to perfection. Other items on the menu i can't wait to try: a cubano, paella, and a chicken enchilada with crispy, chicken thighs. This chef truly knows what he's doing, and i can't recommend them highly enough. i'm going to visit as often as I can until everyone else finds out about this place!

Pork Cheek Pasta aggressively devoured-oh, I should take a picture...

We had lunch there today. The food was great! We split Elote ( Think corn on the cob, split down the center into quarters) and the Pork Cheek Pasta. Both dishes were delicious. The Elote is the perfect way to eat corn on the cob. Use the blended sauce on the plate, lime, cilantro, salt, Mexican cheese and enjoy the fresh corn. If you like corn on the cob, here you go! We loved it. For the main course we split the Pork Cheek Pasta. Tender, flavorful pork, pork belly, fresh peas and corn, ravioli type pasta with Mexican cheese, all in a creative pesto (?) sauce. Another delicious mix of flavors that we will order again. They had a great beer selection, including local top craft brews. This is a Spokane gem, not to forget a downtown Hillyard destination. The server was great with her insight, recommendations, and engaging personality. If you want great creative food, in Hillyard, or Spokane, you need to try Kismet!

This is hands down the best restaurant in Spokane. The food is consistently amazing. Small restaurant with tons of flavor. Amazing staff and chef. Family run. Great drinks. They really take pride in what they do and you can tell. If you like octopus...I don't know how they do it, but their's is insanely tender. And packs a good kick of spice. The short rib is to die for. Their ceviche is so fresh. I tell everyone I know about this place. You definitely need to try it.

We drive two hours just to eat here and it literally never disappoints. The flavors are so on point!! I always want to order everything in the menu. We usually order four dishes and share between two of us. Everything is so delicious!! I highly recommend eating here if you're looking for great food. And also amazing service!

The lights above the booths were made with sombreros- charming. I had a basic Margarita and it was nicely balanced. The salsa with the chips was very hot so we asked if they had a milder salsa and they did. We split a #5 Combo that had a shredded beef burrito and a chili relleno. It was served with refried beans (delicious) and rice (better than most). A couple of notes... sour cream ($2.95 extra) and guacamole ($3.95) were add ons if you wanted them. They also charge $2.00 per basket of chips after the first. We didn't need another, just noticed it at the bottom of the menu. Street tacos were good, served in double corn tortillas. The shredded beef was very moist and good. The chili relleno was really good, very cheesy. Our server was prompt and friendly, checking back to see how things were. The menu prices were above what I expected but the food was very good.

This little gem tucked in downtown Coeur d'Alene delights on so many levels. The menu sings with creativity and fresh ingredients -- dishes that feel both familiar and excitingly new. The salads are vibrant and full of flavor, the sandwiches genuine, and the soups comforting yet elevated. Every item tasted thoughtfully composed and lovingly prepared. The latin-fusion theme works beautifully here: big flavors, fresh produce, and a sense that each bite is crafted with care. What really elevated the experience was the service. The owners and staff are so welcoming, friendly, and attentive that you feel like a valued guest, not just a customer--maybe we are valued seeing that we have been going for almost 17 years! The cafe has a warm, genuine vibe -- modest in size but rich in character. The setting is casual but polished, making it ideal for a relaxed lunch that still feels special. We appreciated the personal touches: the owner checking in, offering suggestions, making us feel comfortable and engaged. * Every dish came with freshness and bold flavor -- no filler, no compromise. * The service made the visit memorable. * The fusion concept works and doesn't feel gimmicky -- it feels right. * It's clearly a place that cares: about food, about guests, and about craft. If you're looking for a lunch spot in Coeur d'Alene that's just a little bit different -- full of flavor, personality, and warmth -- Café Carambola is a must. I especially appreciate the off menu items the owner makes me at every stop because I don't eat me. We weren't thinking this would be a heavily leaning Mexican restaurant, but it is. There are many other choices though like burgers and chicken fried steak, my go to. First things first though. There is a nice sized parking lot outside that does not have cramped spacing. That was nice. It looks like an older neighborhood diner, not run down, just older. Inside was kept very clean and the staff seemed to always be wiping things down when not helping customers. My wife chose the chili relleno plate and I went for the chicken fried steak. You can learn a lot about a place based solely on the quality of this dish alone. Theirs is very, very good. Excellent meat without any 'chewies' you find at so many places. The gravy was spot on in quality and amount of sausage. Not overly salted. Just exactly perfect. My wife's dish was also equally enjoyed. High quality relleno with a tasty sauce and perfect cheesy stuffing. Overall this was a hit and we'll definitely be coming back to try other dishes if I can get away from ordering the CFS.
