We've never been here before but have heard good things. Also some pretty nice reviews here on Yelp. Since we were nearby we decided to give it a go. So glad we did. We weren't thinking this would be a heavily leaning Mexican restaurant, but it is. There are many other choices though like burgers and chicken fried steak, my go to. First things first though. There is a nice sized parking lot outside that does not have cramped spacing. That was nice. It looks like an older neighborhood diner, not run down, just older. Inside was kept very clean and the staff seemed to always be wiping things down when not helping customers. My wife chose the chili relleno plate and I went for the chicken fried steak. You can learn a lot about a place based solely on the quality of this dish alone. Theirs is very, very good. Excellent meat without any 'chewies' you find at so many places. The gravy was spot on in quality and amount of sausage. Not overly salted. Just exactly perfect. My wife's dish was also equally enjoyed. High quality relleno with a tasty sauce and perfect cheesy stuffing. Overall this was a hit and we'll definitely be coming back to try other dishes if I can get away from ordering the CFS. That's going to be tough. Give them a go, I think you'll be glad you did. read more

Last night my friends and I visited this establishment. We enjoyed all left extremely satisfied with our choice of restaurant. The margaritas were well made, chips were fresh, and the salsa had a nice flavor. The highlight though, definitely their Quesabirria Taco plate. They have the best Quesabirria tacos and their consume is perfect. Even their rice and beans have great flavor. One friend ordered a California Grilled Chicken wrap, which was huge. She said it was delicious and the fries that came with it were crispy and perfect. The service was quick and the restaurant was clean with large TV's to watch sports. read more

I grew up in Otis orchards. This location used to be called the Burger Barn. It burnt down and was rebuilt and later was named the Otis grill. Unfortunately they could not keep it staffed and they had to sell. Murandos that was off of Sprague/bowdish area left their location and took over here. There are grill items still on the menu, but now combined it with Murando's menu (I'm probably spelling it wrong. My apologies). It's hard for me to wrap my head around the Burger Barn/ Otis grill now being a Mexican restaurant.. especially since the name really didn't change. I was able to sit where I wanted to per the hostesses instructions and she followed. The menu is pretty large. And I treated myself to a huckleberry. Margarita which had a nice tajin rim, and my husband got a few Coronas which came with a nice cold frosty pint glass. We had some chips and salsa which came automatically. However, whoever made the batch of salsa I think messed up. It was extremely salty and inedible. Which is sad because I usually go through several cups of salsa when I'm at Mexican restaurant. We ordered the nachos to share but we weren't super hungry and only got about halfway through. They were decent. The margarita prices were good and I felt a little buzzy for having just one. I'll definitely come back to try some more items and have more margaritas, and give their salsa one more shot. read more

We haven't been in this restaurant for several years. We read the reviews now that a change of ownership has occurred. On 01-31-2024 we decided to try this Mexican restaurant instead of driving to Liberty Lake. We were very pleased with the overall experience. Ordered 2 regular margaritas and surprisingly these margaritas didn't have a lot of "mix" in them compared to the Liberty Lake Mexican restaurant. That's a plus, plus! We enjoyed the chips, they were warm but the salsa is lacking. Too much liquid not enough of the other. Hopefully they will improve it. Dinner entrees had so much food, we both had to have a "to go" box. Husband had the Carne Asada plate which he said was very good. The pepper that came with his meal was spicy but we loved it! He ate most of his meal. I had the Quesabirria taco plate (3 tacos) which I've never had before. They are very filling and I had to bring 2 tacos home...can't wait for lunch. Overall, the experience and the food was great and we plan to make this our new Margarita Wednesday destination. Our hope is they improve the salsa! See ya next Wednesday! read more

very disappointed with our breakfast this morning. We've eaten there and have raved about it to our friends. I had the carne asada breakfast and either their knives are dull or the meat was very tough and almost shoe leather! I spent more time chewing than enjoying the meat itself!!! My wife ordered a side plate of it to go with her breakfast and she was in agreement with me. Our previous visit was the exact opposite so not sure why or how things change but we will have to take it off of our breakfast circuit for now. Service was pleasant and I'm glad my wife didn't drink her water since our server really didn't check on us to see if we needed anything else and it really wasn't that busy! read more

First time at this place. We were a little lost when we walked in the door. We didn't know if we should wait to be seated or seat ourselves. They eventually seated us. We ordered the chicken enchilada plate and carne asada plate. Both dishes were VERY good!!! Meat was tender and flavorful. Our waiter was great. The atmosphere is positive and Everyone looked like they were enjoying themselves and margaritas at every table. We will be coming back!! We were fans of this place back in the day when it was the Otis Grill. Decided to check out the new setup today to see what it was all about. The salsa was fantastic and the quesabirria tacos were so much more than I bargained for. Usually I order 3-4 of these in other places and eat them all and are still hungry. Not here! I ordered 6 and only finished 4! They were the most loaded up with meat and cheese I have ever had and tasted amazing on top of it. But lucky me, I get 2 more for breakfast tomorrow. This review is for the breakfast service at the Otis Restaurant on Wellesley. They've just started serving breakfast Friday-Saturday-Sunday and I am a big breakfast fan so I gave them a try. First of all, their coffee is incredible. I think the Otis Restaurant's coffee is by far the best I've had at a breakfast restaurant. And I've eaten a lot of breakfast meals out. I had an omelet with hash browns. The omelet was good although with dark spots like it spent too much time on a hot griddle, and the hash browns were more like hash tans. But the potatoes were hot and fresh and potato-tasting. The service was friendly and upbeat and attentive. I went with four stars instead of five because the omelet needed a more gentle touch and the hash browns needed some more brown time. But I'll be back to the Otis Restaurant for breakfast again. read more

A new iteration of the Otis Grill. Marandos mexican food is delicious! While they kept some of the Otis Grill standards, they introduced Otis Orchards to Marandos Mexican food. The margaritas are large and properly boozy. No shortcuts here and no watered down mix- the house lime margarita is 22 oz of deliciousness for a absolutely affordable $10. I had something new to me- papusas. They are a pancake of sorts, stuffed with mozzarella and zucchini (other flavors available) and made of corn. The reminded me of tamales- but in a pancakes form. A tomato sauce for dipping and a pickled cabbage salad. Delicious and a great addition to our neighborhood. read more

When I look for a restaurant on Yelp I try to find a family owned place where the family is in the kitchen cooking. I stay away from chain food places. When you go to the Otis Restaurant you'll find Mario and his wife in the kitchen cooking your meal. And they do a great job at it, too. The food is served hot and is full of flavor. My friend and I were there yesterday for the first time since Otis reopened. We had the Latino Breakfast. Delish! Two fried eggs, chorizo, salsa, hash browns, refried beans with queso, half an avocado and tortillas. So good. The hamburgers looked terrific too. Went to the Otis after work to get dinner went inside around 4:30. Sat down at a nice booth waitress brought us salsa and chips and asked what we would like to drink. second waitress brought us menus and both waitresses went over and started talking to there fellow employee. we sat there for 15 min while the waitresses talked to each other. still no drinks or even a order taken. got up and left we were there for about 20 min when we left. The two waitresses were still sitting in a booth talking. They need to learn better service read more

I was very excited when this place opened. I went there with my sister the first week and the owner came over to our table, he was very nice. A month later i went with a friend and the customer service was very bad. The waitress took my friends order then turns around to leave and i said "hey can i order please?" She came back and she was very rude. I decided to try it again after a few months and i got my food togo instead of eating in the restaurant. While i was waiting the people making the food were talking about me and the small tip i left. (Yes some people who are not hispanic know spanish). I got TO GO food and i didnt feel like a a tip was required but decided to give a small one anyway. It took them 30 minutes to get my soup into a to go container. I imagine if i gave a big tip i would have walked out of there in 5 minutes. I have struggled with writing this review, i prefer to write good reviews but i see this place every day and it makes me sad that the customer service is bad. read more

My husband and I decided we would try they breakfast. When we arrived. the restaurant was almost empty. I ordered waffles and a side of bacon. The bacon was swimming in grease and not fully cooked. The waffle was warm and extremely dry. It was definitely not made in house. Eggo's have more flavor and are much better. They served a small commercial package of syrup and a blob of very cold butter that couldn't even begin to melt. My husband ordered the sampler. The ham was good as were the eggs, the bacon had the same issues as above, and the sausage had an off-putting flavor. He also had wheat toast. The bread had never seen the inside of a toaster and they provided a teaspoon of hard butter, again commercially packaged. There are much better places for breakfast although other places are more expensive. Maybe they should close the breakfast menu and stick to what they know. So far I haven't heard anything positive about their food. read more
