(The De Leon on Francis) We purchased a six-pack of Chicken Enchiladas from the store's grocery section. Honestly, I have never ever eaten chicken enchiladas that flavorful. There was a problem though. We found a very long hair as we were eating the sixth enchilada. It made us uncomfortable about the ones we ate previously. I called the Store Supervisor and informed him of our find, and suggested his kitchen help all (male and female) wear hair coverings or hair nets. He expresses his apologies for what we encountered and promised to remedy the problem with their kitchen help. Went inside the store into the restaurant, ordered their Birria Tacos which is pretty new to their menu, and these tacos were bomb. They come with 3 Birria Tacos. These photos are from 2 different days that I ordered from this location, (I ordered yesterday and they forgot my limes ), but everything else was 10/10. Im not really sure what the purple stuff is that comes with the tacos and I am a picky eater and didn't eat it, but the tacos are delicious. The tacos are loaded with meat and mozzarella cheese. Don't buy from here. I went in today 1/9/2026 and I found a wire in the bread. How does this even happen? The wire is baked into the bread. Disappointed and grossed out. While I was in the store it was around 12pm during lunch, there was a construction working in the back section where the food and bread was and nothing was blocked off. . We ordered through Uber Eats here for the first time. I was craving Menudo and didn't feel like making it myself. I have to say it was amazing and I will be getting it again. My husband was born and raised in NM and I spent 14 years there before dragging him to WA. He is super picky and loves the red chili enchiladas here. They packed the order very well and with care. Been going here a very long time and the one thing I've noticed is that there isn't an automatic gratuity on to go orders and countless times watched customers tip nothing on large orders and small. Them the servers and or car tender still has to tip out the cooks making them actually lose money. This is an amazing market with a cafeteria style deli. With their other location in the Valley, this is about it for Mexican markets in our area. We love going to the central Washington area for places like this, because they truly do have the best Mexican food. It is not a place where things are cooked up for you as you wait, but they do put some nice finishing touches on what you order from their hot deli, and it's always a very delicious and satisfying lunch. Nothing feels like "home" for a native South Texan more than finding a Mexican food store in the PNW! I was trying to make tamales and, living 60 miles north of Spokane, had to order husks online. Long-story-short, I was disappointed in the quality - especially considering the price. So, while planning a trip to town I checked Yelp for Mexican food markets. De Leon was at the top of the list and RIGHT around the corner from where I was going to be. SCORE! The store is not too big, but it's LOADED with lots of "auténtica." Chiles, Goya, masa mixes, pan dulcé, and so much more PLUS the husks I was looking for at a good price. There's also a meat market in the back and a cafe. The whole environment was like a tiny mercado. Excellent! I didn't get to try the cafe, but the smells when I walked in the store reminded me of home. I did pick up some conchas and empanadas. The conchas were flavorful and the cream-filled empanada was a surprise; I was expecting pumpkin. The bread itself was rather dry, but that's an easy fix. Prices, overall, are a little high, but the convenience of this store being here is well worth it. I'll be stopping in every time I'm in town. read more

My daughter's college volleyball team traveled to Spokane from out of state for a tournament. At the last minute, we decided to order dinner for them, plus coaches and parents (35 ppl) for us to bring to their hotel. With only a few hours' notice, the amazing staff at De Leon's created gorgeous catering platters groaning with beautiful tacos, generously stuffed with marinated chicken and steak; enchiladas, and a Fiesta Platter. The team loved every bite of the food, and couldn't stop talking about how fresh and delicious it was. De Leon's had the whole order ready on time and kept everything warm for us even though we were delayed an hour picking it up. Extra points for the metal catering trays that are sturdy and stackable, not those flimsy plastic ones. Seriously, ten stars. So grateful for their great service and fantastic food! My friends in the area says this was the best Mexican food so we came in for a visit while I was in town. I love that this is a market with a hot food counter attached. They also make their own bakery items and have a full butcher shop. We got a bunch of their pastries to try and they go so many options with a few unique ones I've never had before. They were all really flavorful and they had a good range of sweetness levels. I got some carnitas and rice from the hot food counter. The rice was delicious. Some of the best I've had, super flavorful and fluffy. The carnitas was seasoned to perfection and they left it in bigger chunks for me upon request. It was a tiny bit greasier than I would have liked but it was so tender and juicy and I really enjoyed it with their green salsa! The quality of the food is pretty good and the portion sizes are always big, especially when you order a burrito. This store is divided into a hot food restaurant section and a small store where you can find items such as chips, drinks, canned goods, laundry detergent, etc. They also sell traditional Mexican breads and pastries, and freshly in-store made tortillas. I come out here from Coeur d'Alene whenever I need specific groceries for what I'm cooking or even some Mexican candies cause they're hard to find out here. The pozole was actually decent with a good portion of meat but barely any hominy. The cabeza tacos were delicious and rich like expected, the al pastor was good as well and was served with pineapple chunks. The carne asada was the absolute worst though, it was dry and tough with a serious lack of flavor. There is no way they use the same meat in the case as they do the tacos. This was chunks of hard and dry nonsense, a far cry from the flap meat the display in the case down the aisle from the counter. I have tried their location on Hamilton and thought that the market would be the better alternative, I was sadly wrong though. Although the market/ restaurant was better than the actual restaurant, it still left me wondering what other places I can try to get my actually delicious Mexican fix. read more

I door dashed my dinner from here tonight. Cause I'm always on the hunt for quality Mexican food. Especially nachos. The nachos were good, but not $13 good. Lots of flavor, the meat wasn't crispy. They used real cheese. But the portion for the price was not equal. Maybe I'm just spoiled by the amazing taco joints back home. I also had their rebel steak burrito. I didn't realize it had fries in it. Like instead of rice, beans or normal filler it was French fries. If I would have known that I would've ordered a different burrito. While I'm thrilled they have expanded with another market--and their bars that I have yet to try--I cannot help but being lured back to the mothership. Best mexican food in Spokane! If you want authentic mexican food this is the place, even the grocery section is authentic with cactus leaves and spicy candy! My favorite is the veggie burrito but they only have burritos on Mondays which isn't a bad thing because you know it's gonna be fresh since they got special days of the week for certain foods. Right when you walk in on the right are the baked goods, I think they did that on purpose to sell them faster so they don't sit out too long. If your in the produce section make sure to grab a small tub of the green spicy tomatillo sauce, it goes well with so many foods, I put it on top my burrito each bite. spicy twice! just kidding lol. I love the roasted jalapeños as well with my burrito but it's 3$ so I don't get it all the time. One day I will try the cooked cactus they have, the owner said it's very popular. read more

Been here for a number of times now and more for a breakfast burrito than anything else. To be honest .. the egg cheese chorizo burrito "I" want to have for my breakfast has never been given to me .. somehow it is more of bean potato burger than chorizo egg but then their curries and bakery makes it up to this miss. And yes I love their bakery .. they have simple things, very simple things but almost everything from that bakery is absolutely nice .. I believe it is an acquired taste considering the differences from a traditional American bakery but we like it :) Also, their curries which they sell by lbs are nice .. Came around 10am just to check out the grocery store and got intrigued by the menu on the restaurant side. Despite the early timing I decided tacos sounded great for breakfast (when do they not??). I ordered a chicken and a shredded beef with cilantro and onion. They came with two kinds of salsas and I liked the green the best. This definitely took me back to SoCal's taco trucks. It is so simple-tortilla and meat, but when you have flavorful meat with the brightness of salsa or onion and cilantro (in my case both) there's this incredible magic that happens. I'm sure nostalgia flavored up these tacos, but they were just great tacos to begin with. I cannot wait to go back and try more of the menu! read more

As I was leaving I saw an employee inside and I got him to open the door and explain why they were closed to which he replied that quote " We were told to close early" end quote. WHAT!? Let me first say: I don't care if food is "authentic" or not, as long as it tastes great. I love a good San Francisco-style burrito (with WHITE rice, the humanity!) or a greasy seafood taco from a San Diego taco shack. In fact, I'm not really even sure what "authentic" Mexican food is. I hear De Leon's *is* authentic. I do know one thing, it's pretty freakin' tasty. I arrived less than 30 minutes till closing (I know, I was *that* guy), I asked a man mopping the floor if I could still buy food as it looked like they were cleaning up. He then barraged me with Spanish, I hadn't felt this way since I lived in FL. Luckily a younger gentleman saw the look of utter confusion on my face and came over to assist me. My make-shift translator began to ask the kitchen staff questions, probing to see what was still available to order. Pickings were slim, I ended up with a carnitas burrito (read: Mexican shredded pork). Normally, I'm not into pork dishes...at all. I will almost always forgo carnitas for another meat option at Mexican establishments. I reluctantly took my foil-wrapped burrito and little salsa cup and drove home. All I can say is "WOW!". Tortilla was soft and stretchy just the way I like it! Meat was tender and packed with flavor. Fan-freakin'-tastic. The salsa they gave me was also very good. NOTE 1: I also bought some torillas to take home as breakfast burritos are a staple in my diet NOTE 2: also picked up some habanero maya xxx sauce. It's nice to get hot sauce that is actually, you know, hot. It seems like manufacturers are just stamping "habanero" on their sauces and salsas just to be trendy, and not packing in the heat. NOTE 3: This if for the northside/market location. My wife and I ate here for the first time today. This is a Mexican grocery store that also has a small restaurant in one section. Mary had the chicken chimichanga and I had the chicken tamales, both came with rice and beans. The rice was perfectly cooked, in to many places rice is over cooked and sticky. I love shopping here but don't normally get food from the restaurant area. So, the other nite decided to try a chile relleno & tamale: flavor were good but I've never had a relleno that you had to have a knife to cut it - very tough but the flavor of the pepper was great! Maybe the rellenos sat in the case too long? Also, I wanted a pork tamale - only chicken available, which was tasty but when I took the wrapper off, you could tell it was made in a hurry; the masa was uneven and too thin and just crumbled. I literally go here once a week if not more. The food is fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced. If you have not been to De Leon's you are missing out on the best Mexican food in town- not to mention the phenomenal grocery selection.
