Came in for dinner and had a really nice experience! I ordered the veggie burrito, and it was pretty good--flavorful, fresh, and a satisfying portion. The chips and salsa they brought out were also solid--crispy chips and a salsa with just the right amount of kick. Service was friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed. Delicious food; I ordered the enchiladas suizas, it came with rice and beans. It was so much food I couldn't finish it all and actually ended up being enough for a dinner so two meals for the price of one. The enchiladas were chicken and very moist and tasty. They serve chips and salsa as well, but it's limited to one basket per table... additional baskets were $4 I think so didn't like that part. Overall great place for lunch or dinner. read more

Greeted warmly when we entered the restaurant. Went for lunch- nice ambiance!! Simple and clean. Close to the freeway... on and off... We did not wait long for our orders. Nice variety and great food!! Reasonable prices and ample portions. In fact, so much food, could easily have split the entrees and still been more than satisfied. Our server, Emiliano T., did a superb job. Our drinks were always full and the table was cleared promptly when we were done. No rush, he was just thoughtful and attentive. Passing through and ordered takeout from this restaurant-when I picked up the order I could tell by the smell in the dining area it was going to be good. Had the two combination plate with a chili relleno and shredded beef/shredded pork burrito. The soft relleno was cooked to perfection, firm but not crunchy with a good heat level, the beef and pork in the burrito were distinctly different and very flavorful. The cheese enchilada sauce made this item special. I opted for the vegetables instead of rice and beans and was pleased-squash, broccoli, carrots, mushrooms and cauliflower, an unusual but very tasty combination. Kinda heard thru the grapevine that these guys were struggling, so what do we do? Go show them maximum support! My son ordered the Taquito bites and I politely asked the gentleman to surprise me what whatever was their favorite dish to prepare! Let me tell you I was not disappointed at all! Arose De la crema? We always grab dinner at Casa De Oro while staying at a nearby hotel. Super friendly staff and great food in huge portions:) Definitely enough to take away leftovers. I usually order a margarita on the rocks and a wet burrito with red sauce. My wife prefers a combo with a crunchy taco with chicken and a chili relleno. read more

Okay hear me out. There are other similar Mexican places in the area, BUT not with the hospitality and food freshness as Casa De Oro! I wouldn't say it's authentic Mexican food BUUUUT it's the best quality of its type in the area!! My favorites are the combo plates, the 3 enchiladas plate with three different sauces, and the fried jalapenos for some spicy kick! read more

Casa de Oro has been part of the Spokane food scene for many years. Frankly, I think it is because Spokane doesn't have a lot of good Mexican restaurants. The employees are always pleasant, and the restaurant is always clean. Service is usually pretty quick too. Sadly, the food itself is kind of inconsistent. Flavors are OK most of the time, but things are often a little bland. Sometiems things like chimichangas and flautas, which are supposed to be crisp, come out a bit soggy. Also seems like over the years, bean and rice portions are getting bigger and entrée portions are shrinking some, and prices are creeping up too. Drinks are adequate but nothing mind blowing. Overall, this is not a bad place, slightly better than Azteca. But there are better options in Spokane and for my money I will drive further to find my faves. read more

A few weeks back we decided to try it again and it had markedly improved. I held off of a favorable review to see if it was just a fluke. We went again last night and happily, it was very good. The place was packed but the service was still fast and the food came quickly. We shared a single fajita and still wound up taking about a third of it home. This used to be my family's spot. We went to often that they knew our orders and names. Unfortunately ever since the ownership changed so has the food and the atmosphere. Every time I've been they seem annoyed when there are customers and if you customize anything they aren't too excited about that either. The pico used to be amazing and now they give you one little scoop and charge an exorbitant amount for it. The food is okay but nothing like it used to be. Phenomenal service!! This place is right off of I 90, and was highly recommended by the hotel staff where we're staying. They were 20 minutes from closing and prepared a huge order for my family. Unfortunately, this mama forgot one order for a family member who is gluten-free. They were willing to prepare this entrée well after closing. The level of service for an exhausted family that had driven close to 1000 miles was worth its weight in gold If you're traveling in the area or you live in the area I would definitely recommend trying this place. We went here during lunch and there was ONE guy working the whole floor. He did amazingly well but I mean, come on folks, you need to staff properly. The food was pretty good. I got the shrimp fajitas and there were about 6 shrimp and not a good variety of vegetables (just onion and green bell peppers). I would've wanted more shrimp (obviously) and possibly red/yellow bell peppers and other vegetables mixed in. My rule of thumb is, if I can make it, it wasn't worth it.
