Not bad, tasted pretty good and they have some decent pricing. I would recommend this spot for sure.

We have come here a few times while visiting family nearby. The staff is always nice and polite and there typically isn't ever a wait. They can accommodate large parties as well. I got a super burrito and it was delicious. It came in a great portion size with delicious rice and beans. My family also all enjoyed the food they got as well. My once complaint is the sever never came back so I didn't get a drink refill. Not a big deal, but I was thirsty. read more

I feel like most Mexican food in this area is pretty similar, The different I feel is that this place seems to put a little bit more attention into making sure that the product they put out is good from start to finish. Probably the biggest reason I'm writing the review is that we always get top notch friendly service from the wait staff which goes a long way toward making me want to come back. The prices are very much in line with everybody around here. The ambiance is not amazing it's just typical Mexican restaurant but clean. Also I had read a review that the bathrooms were not clean and made sure that I went to the bathroom last time we were there and it was spotless. read more

This was my first visit to La Cabana. I'm sure I've driven by many times, but just never stopped in. I came with friends on a Wednesday afternoon and it wasn't too busy. The staff was attentive and friendly. The seating was booth style and the atmosphere was casual. They served us complimentary chips and salsa which came with two salsa options. One was said to be spicy which I didn't try, and the other was mild. I ordered the Shrimp A La Creme which came mixed with pasta. That is different than I've had elsewhere and I liked it. The flavors were very good, and it reminded me a bit of shrimp alfredo at an Italian restaurant. The tortillas, were warm and fluffy. They gave me several and I was only able to eat a couple with my meal because I was already stuffed. I will definitely be back again when I'm in the area. read more

We don't live locally but are here visiting some family. We walked in and were greeted and seated immediately with chips and salsa. Our servers were friendly and helpful and the food was really good. We also ordered margaritas and those were amazing as well. Highly recommended and we'll come back for sure! read more

The staff was very Friendly but that's about all it has going at this place. 4 small kids , and 5 adults -$175 (no alcohol) Super expensive and below mediocre food. All the meat tasted like it had some odd spices that doesn't belong with Mexican food. Tasted like pumpkin pie spices were used with all the meat. The rice was absolutely tasteless. The chips and salsa were ok too. I ordered a large burrito carne asada plate ($16) and a chili relleno (5.50) the side. Instead of some type of chili sauce on top of the relleno, it had some type of gravy. Ok at best. The burrito was tiny. I would have been more satisfied going to Taco Bell and paying a 1/4 of the price. Kids had the Taquitos , and they were bland. Fried icecream for dessert tasted like chemicals Horchata tasted like water with cinnamon. Gross! Also, my buddy ordered the super nachos. Here's his reply when I asked him how it was: " "If you're looking for a dining experience that will leave you with both a broken heart and a broken toilet, look no further than this Mexican joint. The super nachos were nothing short of a flavorless disaster, and the real kicker? The diarrhea I experienced post-meal was nothing short of explosive. It was like a volcano erupted in my pants. Called in an order for pick-up since it was Cinco de Mayo. Ordered a side of beans & chips and salsa. Total came to almost $18. It's just myself and I probably would've been better off just purchasing a dinner combo for around the same price. I had to wait a long time to be helped even though my order was sitting on the pick-up table. No one ackowledged me or said "someone will be right with you". We ordered take out. I had forgotten an item. Called back and added it. When we arrived everything we ordered was in the bag. Good portions. I asked for a Tostada. It was so tasty. There's a HUGE choice of Mexican restaurants out there. If I were to pick one solely based off of wanting the dining experience that used to be, this would be it! I wanted to give 5 stars just for the service. Our waitress was phenominal. I'm absolutely terrible with names, especially if they don't have a name tag, but she made me feel like I was a guest in her home! She is the type you can tell genuinely likes people and cares about her service. By the end of the meal, I felt in a happier mood and appreciated, not to mention very full. The menu is huge like the very refreshing margaritas. You are offered warm chips and homemade salsa (hot & mild) while you peruse the menu. I had the shredded beef burrito plater that included rice and beans. I'll say that it wasn't the most flavorful ever but the beef was fall apart tender. I'm fairly basic/safe when it comes to spicy foods so I'm probably not the best opinion for this review, lol. My co-workers had the street taco platter. Everyone was so hungry and dug right in...I failed to get a picture, but it looked appealing and the plating beautiful right down to the roasted pepper. They did not appear to be dissatisfied in any way. I'd go back again for sure and take a little more time to enjoy the experience. La Cabana is an older restaurant. We went on A Monday and it was pretty busy. They only offer a lunch menu, which is fairly priced and they ghee daily drink specials that are fun. The salsa is good. The rest of the food was just ok. I am not sure there was any flavor to the sauce on my smothered burrito. My friend had the Chile verde and thought it was good. Worth another shot. read more

What a great local Mexican restaurant! What a treat after an afternoon in the sun. Air conditioned, plenty of comfortable and new seating, large tables/booths. The waitress was extremely nice and helpful. My mom got a huckleberry margarita that looked amazing (welcome to Idaho!). A lot of combo options and we all got something different. Plates were large and filled to the brim, definitely a to-go container type of place. The chips and salsa were very fresh and they kept bringing out more. In my opinion, it is not worth the money for what they are serving. We used to be a fan of this place. I think the average meal was somewhere between 16 and $19. And the portion sizes were super small. The chili Rello wasn't even a full chili (it's like they took a chili cut it in half and used it for two portions) and the chicken enchilada was dry inside. You would get bigger portion's and better quality at Atilanos. If I had to estimate, it was about 3/4 of a cup of Spanish rice and maybe 3/4 of a cup of refried beans for an entrée. Rice and beans are super cheap to make and you could basically pile up a plate with those to compensate with small portion sizes. My husband and I love this place! The staff is super friendly and attentive. No idea what the people complaining about portions not being large enough are talking about... we can EAT in this family and we always leave happy! Tucked away near state line in a quiet shopping center was this lil gem. Large plates, free chips and amazing salsa. Service was worth it and thank goodness the staff had patience with us. It was a long over due girl date and with the holidays and ect we were chatty and not so focased on foods. I had been waiting for a place locally to serve Menudo and the put on an outside sign that they have it and I finally came to try it. If your a person who grew up on menudo you will be very sad. Not only is it the most aseptic version of menudo I have ever tried but they charge more for a bowl than going to a steak house and buying a premium cut steak. How much? 20 Dollars a bowl. Nobody at the front to greet. Were people waiting for a seat or waiting to pay their bill? Who knows. Wait fifteen minutes and may or may not find out. The universal meat in the dishes served, have been cooked, refrigerated and re cooked so many times, it resembled canned dog food. The guacamole was made from a powder. You know the kind. I thought that everything was good... but on the low side of good. Food, service, drinks, all of it. I had the vegetarian burrito and a mango margarita. I'd order them again but the food was somewhat bland and the drink might have had less than a half a shot of alcohol.
