My wife and I stopped in here by chance, and we're so glad we did! The owner, Joe, was the only one working, and he was incredibly friendly and welcoming. This place has a cozy sports/dive bar vibe with just the right amount of quirky charm--exactly what we love. We decided to sit at the bar, where we ordered a couple of drinks and both tried the Southwest Street Tacos. Joe puts a unique spin on them by combining a soft and hard shell, and the flavor was absolutely amazing! From the outside, you might hesitate--but don't! It's a hidden gem, and you won't regret stopping in. We'll definitely be back. read more

joes house is the bomb! great place to be with friends! Great owner and bar tender! Will always be a home away from home

This is a small bar/taco bar out in the Valley we decided to try and I'm glad we did. They are mostly a well stocked bar and we do prefer beer but hubby found an IPA that he liked. The tacos were really good. Definitely not SW tacos but more a designer type. They offer either chicken or brisket. We both had the brisket but I'm sure the chicken are also very good. The sauce they use have a sweet flavor and lend toward BBQ so if that is a flavor combo you like they are worth trying. I loved them! The lone bartender/waiter handled the patrons handily. I'll be back! read more

Friendly and fast service, however the menu is small, way overpriced, and subpar. 3 small chicken tacos (flour tortillas, cotija and chicken- tasted like reheated frozen cooked chicken breast) with a side of tortilla chips and salsa set us back $16. read more

5 star Tacos!!! Damn. They may just be THE Best Tacos I have ever had. And that is no BS. I had the southwestern chicken tacos and my beautiful partner had chicken street tacos. We both LOVED them... The BBQ sauce dripped on top of the Tacos was a... amazing........drooling at the thought of taste! If I lived here in town, this would be my spot. IF you're old enough to remember "CHEERS", this is a modern day version. Behind the bar slanging drinks was Joe, the owner. He also came to our table to introduce himself as he knew we were not locals. He took our order and did it with pride and a smile. I asked what Stouts he had on tap and to my pleasant surprise he has / had Beaching Beaver Mexican Chocolate Peanut Butter Stout - A Very rare find!!! Will return whenever in town!!!! read more

My wife and I just had an amazing evening dinner at Joe's House. We shared a healthy grilled chicken salad and also the brisket tacos. Joe's House is a local neighborhood bar restaurant with great service. We will defiantly stop at Joe's again as we pass through. Thank you for Joe the great evening. read more

The mushroom tacos were okay. The mushrooms were cooked well but mild. The sauce added some depth. The place was neat and quiet.

It's rare you find a casual and unassuming bar that serves up delicious food and has an excellent whiskey selection. I popped in for takeout on a Friday night around 7pm. The bar was full but there were a couple of open tables. Sports on a few TVs. I ordered the brisket street tacos to go and while I was waiting had a Taylor single barrel! I could have gone with the Weller or Blanton's just as easily. The Taylor over a large rock is one of my faves. The service was wonderful - my server was helpful, kind and provided excellent service. The whole meal, including chips and salsa, was $30. Not too shabby considering the quality of whiskey! I would be a regular here if I lived in the area. Check out Joe's House for an awesome spot to hang out and enjoy the best food and whiskey! read more

Accidentally found this place on a business trip & WILL be going back again before we leave!!! Ambiance is great & the food was to die for! We got Chicken Street Tacos & the Brisket Southwestern Tacos. I will say that calling it a "street taco" is a little deceiving. I'm used to street tacos being just meat, onion & cilantro. This is meat, lettuce & the fanciest, most delicious sauces you've ever had! I'm so jealous of the locals that can come here whenever they want! read more

Stopped here will passing through town. The drink was great and the food was even better. I will definitely find my way back again!

Fun atmosphere with outside seating available. We sat inside. Service was decent. They were having problems with their taps and had problems pouring a full beer. Food was decent. Tacos are not authentic in any way, even by southwest standards, but they were good. I'll have to stop by gain when their taps are fully working. Joe's seem like a place I could hang out for a while. read more

I visited once before the stay at home order and had a great time, with amazing service. I stopped by today to order the brisket sliders and the Mexican pizza. Called it in beforehand and it was ready when I got there. Smooth pickup and the food was outstanding. Highly recommend for take out now, and when allowed to reopen go in and spend some time with Joe and Chas. read more

To start. The service is friendly & prompt and also They have Johnny Utah on draft. Just to clarify, that's an amazingly bright and inviting pale ale that I could see being my new favorite beer. Speaking of new favorites. Their brisket taco is worth any gas money it takes to get there. Setup like a double decker, hard shell inside a soft shell...packed full of mouth watering meat. Drizzled with some sort of ambrosia from the Gods of a sauce. Also noteworthy, their corn dip...I'm not sure exactly what all was in it, but it was gone real quick. Joe's House was a complete surprise after arriving and parking in a very unassuming lot. It was a pleasure chopping it up with Chas (one of the owners and the man who made our dank ass tacos). Great cocktails, great food and great people. Always a good time and never disappoints.

This place should be called Joe's Craft Cocktail House! My buddy and I stopped in after mountain biking. Ordered a couple old fashions and they were amazing. I'd put them against any in town! Also had a mezcal marg that was equally as awesome. Had a great time, wife's met us and turned it into a night. The food was really good too. We will be back soon! read more

I knew I had found my new favorite place when on my first visit to Joe's, I was greeted be the sweetest puppy face I'd ever seen! But Griffey's golden lab cuteness is just the start of the fun, unpretentious, relaxing visit I had. When you visit- if Joe's behind the bar- definitely ask him to mix you an Old Fashioned- it will be the best you've ever had. And make a point of going for Taco Tuesday and have Ryan hook you up with the Brisket tacos (SW Style) and Juan whip you up a Huckleberry Margarita. Unless it's peach season, then just ask the bartender to surprise you with something peachy: you won't be sorry. read more

Killer tacos, rad atmosphere. If I lived here, this would be my spot. The boy toy got to have his fav beer, which they had on tap, a rare find (Belching beaver mexi chocolate peanut butter stout). Love this place! Best tacos in Spokane! Friendly staff and a cool neighborhood place to hang out.

Enjoyed this little spot close to our casa. Games and cards around if the beer and conversation need some supplementing.

Just arrived in Spokane this evening and needed to find some food. Picked Joe's House on a whim and so glad to have stopped here. The atmosphere is laid back and welcoming. The food was great. Get the street tacos - so very worth it. Cool little place to come hang out, get a drink, and watch a game. Probably the most attentive place I have seen since COVID started with staff immediately cleaning every table as soon as someone leaves. read more

I love this place! Great Tacos and a Great Staff! You won't be disappointed. Stick around have "Train Shots"!

Just because you can doesn't mean you should. A hole in the wall perhaps, new styling. Food is unfortunately lackluster, very much your neighborhood bar. Services pretty friendly, but if the goods aren't good they're just not good. Feels a bit pricey and gouging, when the food isn't very good. read more

Over priced, and owner is very arrogant! Can get better food at a lower price anywhere in Spokane! French dip is ok. As I like French dips I would say the is a $10 French dip. Not almost $20. And the owner doesn't take friendly criticism well. Will not be back. Millwood resident for 20 years read more

Joe's House is Flavortown, USA. If you like heavy amounts of flavors and sauces on your food, then you will like Joe's. My wife and I ordered the brisket tacos. They were a little bit on the small side and had more of a pita tortilla than a Mexican tortilla but I thought it worked. If there are heavy juices in a taco, a pita will hold the juices easier than a tortilla. The meat was tasty, although a bit sparse. The main feature of these tacos is that they are covered in sauce. You have to adjust your biting motion so that you don't end up with sauce all over your face. My closest comparison for the heavy sauce would be sushi rolls with lots of additional sauces. If people didn't like it, then it wouldn't be so popular. Unfortunately, I am not in this camp. I don't prefer the heavily adulterated sushi and I did not prefer all the added sauces on the tacos. Joe's tacos have the important taco components correct: meat and shell. The added sauces were a little too far from original tacos for my liking. Based on the other reviews, most people enjoy this type of taco innovation. read more
