So much food! My husband and I split a burrito (I think it was #12 or maybe it was $12). It was huge, though. We had talked to the waiter before ordering, so we knew it would be more than just one of us could eat. I do prefer my burrito to have "stuff" layered on the top, so I'll have to try the other burrito on the menu the next time we come here. This one was really very tasty (shredded beef was our choice of protein). At least one in our group had a chimichanga and that looked delicious too. Updating my review... Two weeks ago we had a terrible experience with the so called owner. As the food was being handed off my husband saw that he handed him something he didn't order and said this was not what he ordered. The man replied with frustration and said yes it is! My husband responded with no it is not. The owner proceeded to asked my husband what is the problem with all you black people? Once that question was asked all respect was lost and my husband demanded that he get a refund. As this continued the owner then stated all you black people always think you're right and you're not. Needless to say my husband is black and he will never be spending another penny at this restaurant. Terrible service and response to a simple error that would have been easy to fix. read more

QUESABIRRIA! Ahmazing! Make sure to order your quesabirria extra crispy and order the avocado sauce to pair with it. So filling that I could hardly finish two. I used to go to Atilanos all the time until I have found El Charrito. I love their beans and rice, chips , salsas, pico de gallo, carne asada street tacos. They load the street tacos with plenty of carne asada. Everything that I have tried is amazing. They make everything from scratch , from their salsas to their tortillas, EVERYTHING. Their horchata is made with real cinnamon sticks and it's the best I have ever had. They have delicious apple churros for dessert. I have been craving Mexican food so we ordered from one our favorite places. My husband is in love with enchiladas in spicy ref sauce. He never has leftovers for lunch, somewhere between dinner and morning, the extras are gone! I love quesadillas and theirs do not disappoint. Red sauce was good and very hot, green tomatillo sauce okay, green creamy avacado type sauce was excellent. The Manager is always extremely friendly and she knows my order even if I put it through door dash, she knows just how I like my food. Thats great freaking service right there!! If you can get over that your food will likely not come out fast and chips aren't free nor generous even if you pay... the rest of this is bomb. Birria style tacos, which were very meaty, excellent combo meals w tacos and tamales, and even rice and beans delicious. But best of all... the habanero salsa. I'd kill to get my hands on more. In fact, all of the salsas were delicious. I dream of the habanero and other hot salsa though. My companion liked the regular salsa too. In fact, I'm dreaming of the habanero hot sauce right now. I'd seriously commit crimes to have sone of this chips and salsa right now!!! I really need to go back. We went twice in one week. Just be prepared to take some time. Gas station nachos are less repulsive than the slop they served up. Even grade school cafeteria nachos are better. How does this place have any decent reviews?! I generally eat here at least once a week. Usually for lunch. Usually drive-thru too. I generally get the #3 Burrito. It comes with a choice of protein. I get chicken a lot but also get Asada and Carnitas. They put rice,refried beans, cilantro and onions on them but you can ask for them how you prefer. I don't usually like refried beans with chicken but their beans are always fresh. As a matter of fact they have Very fresh food always. Place is super clean too. Also they have three types of sauces to add yourself. tomatillo (green), red (very hot!! but very tasty in small amounts) and an avocado sauce. All are homemade and very good. I've also had their tacos too. Very good but on the small size. You can't go wrong here. But be careful with the red hot sauce, I'm pretty sure it habanero infused and it'll sneak up on you. I definitely recommend El Charrito's for lunch or dinner. read more

I use to have a different favorite taco place but I have to say it is now El Charrito.... try ALL the sauces lol they are amazing! My fav is the avocado tho! I always get the carne asada street tacos and they have yet to disappoint me!!! Ahhh this review is making me want to go get some!!! Woooo finally good Mexican food in South Hill. Ever since Gerardo's closed down in downtown, I've been pretty sad. My favorite go to meat is lengua (beef tongue) and they were the only ones that had it besides De Leon which is super far in the valley. But South Hill has now been blessed with lengua. Before you knock beef tongue, just try it. I make most of my friends try it before telling them and they're always surprised it's tongue. After, it becomes their favorite meat. Trust. Everything here is good but my personal favorites is the torta (sandwich) and sope (corn pancake thingy?). The torta has such soft bread and delicious flavor. With slices of avocado, it works perfectly with whatever meat you chose. Lengua for me though. Al pastor (pineapple pork) is also good. $6.50 in general but extra with lengua, but worth it. For the sope, I prefer al pastor but you can get lengua with this too. The sope is perfectly crispy on the outside and a little soft inside, adding nice texture and flavor to the queso, tomato, lettuce, and sour cream. $3.30 The jamaica is hibiscus tea and I found this to be one the few bad things here. It's concentrated and outrageously sweet, I had to water it down a bit. I'm not a big sugar person though so if I get McDonalds sweet tea, put half into another cup and fill both up with water to minimize the sweetness as a reference for how minimally sweet I like things. Lastly, their avocado salsa is the truth. It's not super spicy either but works with almost everything. Thank you El Charrito for bringing good Mexican food to the South Hill at a decent price, it's been a long time coming. read more

Definitely the best Mexican on the South hill for the price. De Leon food is not good quality and Rancho Viejo is a little pricier. This was awesome! I had the carne asada and was really impressed the onion and garnish were nice extras that I really appreciated. The salsa bar was great, really liked all the options and the fresh hot chips were a great touch. Service was outstanding. The asada burrito is LEGIT!!! The habanero sauce is FIRE spicy. although taste wise I prefer the regular red salsa. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for an authentic California/Mexican burrito. My California people, I moved to Spokane 5 years ago and tried sooo many places! Tried this place for the second time today. I ordered their carne asada and adobada tacos. Both tacos were all very good and loaded with meat. They also double up on the tortilla. I would order at least 3-4 tacos because they run small. And at $1.69 a taco, I think they're priced pretty OK! I didn't try anything else here, but would come back. Free chips and salsa available. I like how there were many different salsa options to choose from (self service). Their spicy salsa is HELLA spicy, which I like! Restaurant is spacious and clean. Very nice folks running this store. Today it was the father (owner) and son. The food was fantastic and portions are very large. This equals out to a pretty nice value. A warning though, the burrito supreme is massive. It takes 1 extra hungry person or two people to finish it off. They use an extra large plate and it still hangs over the ends. I had the chorizo version and the meat was tender and tasty. The restaurant is kept clean and has a handful of booths and a smattering of tables. Drinks are fill your own, so refills are plentiful. This restaurant is easy to miss but, boy, once you try it you won't ever drive by without thinking about their food and customer service. The tortillas are amazing and the meat is tender and delicious and the salsa is hot, hot, hot!!! We stopped here for take out on a Friday night. Since it was our first time here, we decided to taste around the menu. We got a burrito barbacoa...huge and spicy and a deal for $6. We also got a Carnitas sope: good "bread" and the carnitas was very savory pull apart perfection. Finally we had the carne asada tostada. Great flavor to the carne asada and a great value at $3ish dollars. We finished it off with a horchata and we were very happy with that. This place is clean, but not fussy. Many steps above most take out/semi fast food while the quality is on par with dine-in competitors at a much lower price. read more
