About El Pinto.
Laura B.

I have always loved this place until now. The atmosphere is great. This time though my service was really slow and spotty. Will not give this prince server's name. When the check came, I just paid it because I had 2 people with me that I was treating. Margaritas were $14.50 each. The guacamole must have been made of gold because one scoop on a lettuce leaf was $13.70. That is exorbitant! The kicker though was the credit card convenience fee of $3.18! Say what? Why should I be charged extra for using my credit card? I will think twice about bringing out of town guests here!

Very, very, very large restaurant with extensive margarita and tequila list. Huge menu with everything from steaks to healthy options. Of course lots of Mexican options. Worth going to 1 time.. Food is good but not extraordinary.

Beautiful and large property, lots of greenery and fountains. Outdoor and indoor seating. We enjoyed the vegetarian combination plate (chile relleno and cheese enchiladas), salsa and chips, and sopapillas. Patrick was an excellent waiter.

This place is very unique and a huge operation -- A sprawling restaurant attached to a salsa bottling factory. They use their own salsa here of course, and you can buy it here or at local stores. This place is so large you could get lost in it. It's complete with nice architecture, fountains, and plants. Patrick, our server, was very accommodating and seemed genuinely happy to be there. I loved their salsa with the chips. Their enchiladas were good, I also enjoyed their fries and the complementary sopapillas. But I feel the best thing about this place is the experience of it. I haven't been to another restaurant quite like it.

Friday early evening visit, first visit. My party was seated outside, we did not have a reservation. The employee warned us that should any bees or flies come to the table to just hit the button on the small fan. We did have a few bee visitors. The bottle of honey was on the table the entire time. The dining experience would've been better if the honey just came out with the sopaipillas. Having to keep an eye out for bees was not a enjoyable experience. The service was not great. Long wait times for our initial greeting, along with when ketchup was asked for to accompany the fries in one of the entrees, as well as receiving a to go box. The food was ok. Grass fed chile queso burger and chicken taco salad. The beans in the taco salad were very bland. The chicken is all placed at the bottom of the entree. The chicken also was inconsistent size wise. Some pieces were shredded, others were clumps of meat. Overall, 2.5 star visit.

This is one of the biggest restaurants I've ever been to. Amazing that the food is pretty good. But double check what room you're seating in, because some are prettier than others. Things are well marked on the menu for what's gluten free or vegetarian. So that's really helpful. Although I wouldn't recommend for celiac. The app of fried chilis was surprisingly good. Ask for Lily as your server. She rocks!

Authentic and fun atmosphere. You get the true New Mexico experience. Service was fantastic, and she went the extra mile to serve our table fast to enable us to make the balloon fiesta glow on time. The food was good and my last chance to eat some green chili before heading home. Strongly recommend if you have the chance.

We came with a group of about 25 with our soccer team for dinner Saturday night and it was very impressive. The property seems massive and it's really beautiful with all the cottonwood trees. When you get into the restaurant, there are just tons of combinations of these cozy little nooks, long dining tables, separated rooms, patio seating, and event spaces. There is something to see everywhere you look; fountains, fireplaces, and plants, hanging chiles, and more. They even raise cattle and chickens on property and source from their own greenhouse for their menu items. The ambience was just really cool and even though the winds were blowing like crazy, we were totally comfortable out in the patio section with the screens up. The food is authentic New Mexican cuisine. They brought out delicious tortilla chips for us to snack on while we decided on what to order. It really felt like there was no wrong choice to make. They were very accommodating for food allergies and restrictions. There was great flavor in everything our group tried. I split the half order of chicken nachos and it was a hefty half order! I was so stuffed, but then, hot sopapillas appeared and I couldn't say no to those! Especially not since the tables had their own sourced honey. There is also a full tequila bar, but since we were traveling with kids, didn't get to take too much advantage of that as an option. I wish we would've had more to explore the property but if I end up back in the Albuquerque area, I'll stop by again.

Incredible 12 oz. Ribeye and Enchilada-Christmas Style with papitas and refried beans. Steak was out of this world!

Absolutely incredible New Mexican food from this famous restaurant! Restaurant is beautiful and the staff went out of their way to be helpful! Highly recommended restaurant just like La Posta de Mesilla in Las Cruces (not related).

Red chile ribs, awesomeness

Came in for late lunch at El Pinto on a Tuesday and was told there was a 25 minute wait. Thankfully we were seated after about 5 minutes. On a 100 degree day, we were sat outside but in the shade. Sat for a few minutes and decided to waive down our server as the heat was not at all pleasant. Thankfully, the bar inside had plenty of seats and serves the same menu. We had half of a rack of red chile ribs as appetizer to start. Meat falls off the bone and absolutely delicious. Next time I will have the full rack for main course. We also had the stuffed sopaipillas with pork, tamale plate, Hatch chile & chicarrones, and a bowl of green chile stew. Every item was great though the green chile stew was not nearly green chile tasting. Tastes more like pork, potatoes with a hint of green chile. Other than that minor disappointment, the margaritas made it easier to manage. Huge selection of tequilas, beers and wines. Well done El Pinto.

I will be dreaming about this green chili heaven for a years to come! What an experience! The green chili strips fried to perfection with the best amount of flavor and heat! Why didn't I think of this? The combo plate allowed me to taste almost everything I wanted to by doing one chicken and one beef taco, tamale, green chili enchilada and rice and beans. Incredibly flavorful and the flavors are so authentic, made me feel like I was home! This place is huge! Lots of patio space, the vibes are great, the drinks are flowing and the customer service was unmatched. Thank you!

I am all for ambiance and nostalgia. And that is something that El Pinto offers. This was my first time ever at El Pintos. I lived in Rio Rancho for awhile. But never went. Shame on me for sure. So glad on my visit back to NM and being invited out for dinner with my Manager. Who I was meeting in person for the first time. Perfect setting. Our server never brought us any Chips and Salsa. A little numbed. But oh well. Gives me an excuse to return I guess. I had the Rice Bowl which is on the healthy conscious menu. It comes with rice, your choice of chile flavor, pinto beans, your choice of meat, and a flour tortilla. I chose green chile and shredded pork. The portion is a really good size. And it was really good. Something I would recommend and I would have it again. I will return and bring my husband next time. One thing I noticed is they accommodate large parties with such ease. I liked seeing that.

Pretty entrance

Fun place to take out-of-towners, especially folks visiting ABQ on business. The salsa is always super fresh (not spicy), which inevitably results in eating too many chips before you order...but if you're a real glutton for punishment, the fried green chili strips are a fun, tasty app (though wholly unnecessary given the huge portions). Unpopular opinion: El Pinto's is best for Sunday brunch. Blue corn pancakes with blueberries and pecans FTW, though the eggs benedict is a close second! Entrees are overpriced, but the coffee is good, and I love the outdoor seating area on a nice day. (Ask for the Garden Room, if you want to sit inside.) By comparison, the lunch and dinner menus aren't as good. The carne adovada is a safe albeit spicy choice. I find most of the other dishes (beef brisket, enchiladas) to be overly salted. Ribeye was not good, and I wish they'd serve real honey with the sopaipillas instead of the fake karo syrup stuff... Reservations recommended. Beautiful ristra-laden entrance. Bathrooms are always clean, and there's plenty of parking in the dirt lot.

Fresh Guacamole.

Checked out this place on a road trip. Food was bland, considering the price. Also, I found the environment to be unsanitary overall.

Cold food, inattentive service and the ambiance is ruined by the overt political leanings.

I was immediately impressed by the staff. you couldn't ask for better care and warmth. we participated in any activities that were offered and made new and lasting friendships along the way. thru those years there were difficult times. I guess the most difficult was the pandemic when we were limited to movement within the building but you would be amazed attn lengths the staff went to to keep us happy. delicious meals were delivered to our door ( we ordered from our menu's ). Games were played at each door if you wanted to participate and there were fun prizes. The weekly wine socials were brought to your door. Meanwhile, all the necessary health precautions were taken. The apartments were thoroughly cleaned weekly. When necessary, immunization clinics were brought to each resident and if you wanted to participate, they made it easy. Eventually that passed and life got back to normal but it's hard not to recognize the professional handling of that difficult time. The building was renovated and mad lovely for us. If anything needed to be updated, it was life moved along smoothly and I must admit, to my surprise. There were many staff changes but amazingly, the staff remained warm and caring. Deep down, I can forget that they are dealing with many different personalities and sometimes elderly people can be a tad grumpy. The loving staff simply overlooks the bad days. Food is always an issue but the menu is large with choices for everyone. If that isn't enough, there's a really great Bistro you don't want to mis. The activities are numerous and year round. Entertainment is provided on a regular basis and outings take place twice a week. All you have to do is signup. I can't close this without mentioning that my husband passed away in 2022. it was a difficult time made easier by the Fairwinds staff and especially the management. Being100% deaf and disabled, my family wanted me to move to assisted living despite my reluctance. Doralei warmly helped me make that decision to move and very graciously helped me find a comfortable apartment. The move was smooth and the golden treatment given by the health and Wellness staff has been perfect so I have to admit that it was the proper move. When I need appointments, the transportation service is wonderful and I can't forget to mention the wonderful drivers. Do you see how fortunate I furl that all those years ago, we made the decision to move here it was the perfect one. You can't go wrong.

Extremely disappointing experience at Sixty Six Acres…read more We walked in and were seated immediately on the patio. I had read so many positive reviews and was genuinely excited to try this restaurant. Unfortunately, we walked out without ever being served. While we sat there, multiple staff members walked past our table without acknowledging us. No greeting. No water. No "someone will be right with you." Nothing. Then another couple arrived after us and was seated in the same small patio area. They were promptly greeted, given water, and attended to by a waiter who seemed more than happy to serve them. Meanwhile, we were still sitting there trying to figure out whether anyone planned to acknowledge our table. What made the experience even more uncomfortable was looking around and realizing there were no other Black or Brown patrons in the establishment at the time. I cannot definitively say race played a role in how we were treated, but given the stark difference in service between our table and the couple seated after us, I would be dishonest if I said the thought didn't cross my mind. We eventually got up and left. Good food reviews mean very little if certain guests can sit at a table while staff repeatedly walk past them as though they aren't there. Whether this was discrimination, poor training, or simply terrible service, the experience was unacceptable and left us feeling completely unwelcome. We came prepared to spend our money and enjoy dinner. Instead, Sixty Six Acres made it very easy for us to take our business elsewhere.

My partner didn't eat the pinon that came with her meal, so I threw those on my salad as well. My partner ordered the Pesto Pasta with grilled chicken.
