Waited a while to be seated. Couple waitress passed by and did not question us standing there. I got impatient and went up to one of them to be seated ,and sat us right away. Which I thought would probably be crowded due to how long we waited. The food was alright, but also took a while to arrive. I paid and wanted to leave a 10% tip since I was not as satisfied with the service, but the waitress demanded we must leave minimum 15% tip . I first went to this place a few years back and I had an amazing time. I went for Cinco de Mayo 2018 and my experience was NOT what I remembered it to be, sadly. The food, a Shrimp Cocktail, is one of my staple entree that I get at Mexican Restaurants and this was a huge disappointment. The sauce wasn't right, it had very few vegetables and I mean very few. Drinks, were also a major disappointment. I personally half a Cadillac Margarita and a strawberry Margarita, both were super weak. Lastly, we went for dinner and the entertainment. They came halfway through out meal and dropped some sign on our table saying if we wanted to stay for the show, we had to spend $25 per person min... this is after spending $100+ worth of food and drink. WTF, are you kidding me. Then when we were finishing our dinner and drinks they were trying to rush us out so they can get the next paying customer in. Parking is in a commercial strip mall it does tend to get pretty crowded at times depending the day and time. I use to like this place a lot but they have developed a sewer smell outside of there establishment which i hope they get fixed soon. If you are NOT Latino they hope you leave by ignoring you for an extended length of time. Their lack of customer service is HORRIBLE!!! I have dined in twice and ordered takeout twice over the years and they have consistently provided me with bad service and I have given them more than their fair share of getting it right. On 1/17/24 I called for takeout. They gave me 15 minutes and I arrived in 10 minutes but while I was standing at the counter two employees did not care that I was standing at an empty counter where they seat you for dine in. The lady at the bar came to the counter to get something and looked at me and walked away. I guess it was not her job and then she walked by the counter a second time-still said nothing. A second employee came from the kitchen to get something from behind the counter just like the lady from the bar and he was not going to say anything until I asked if everyone was going to ignore me. He apologized and went back to the kitchen. Then a few minutes later the right person apologetically came from the kitchen area but it was far too late because now it's over 10 minutes of waiting. The guy said that he had just got there but it did not make sense for a restaurant to patrons but yet no one to greet you or attempt to act like they care that you are there. I have lived in the area a long time and way before the restaurant ever existed and I have friends who have experienced similar treatment. However my mom went with our Mexican neighbor and she said the service was outstanding but we went as a family not long afterwords and was treated differently. Came here after a soccer game at stubhub center last night. The music at the bar area was too loud therefore we put out names down for a table. The greeters seemed too busy talking and didnt seem happy when we signed in. 15 mins later we were seated and had complimentary chips and salsa. For a Saturday night this place was empty. This is not Mexican food! I had read the reviews so I thought I'd make it easy & order a carne asada burrito, no rice just meat and beans, they don't put onions or cilantro or salsa, I asked for it to be smoothed in green salsa, the salsa tasted nasty like it was canned. The staff was very friendly and helpful! The security was tight (always a sign of a safe place)! The food was delicious and reasonably priced! This place had some of the coldest beer and tastiest strawberry margarita I've had in years! I was pleasantly surprised! Not to mention that they had both mariachi and an amazing DJ! I hate when amazing gems such as this spot are scored down. The staff tries their best to accommodate your every need and deal with the slightest complaint. Horrible customer service We came to listen to the mariachi and to have dinner, the waitress told us that it was going to cost 25 per person after 7:30 and because are bill was only 250 that we weren't ordering enough food we had to leave because they were losing money. I ordered more drinks and they refused and told us it's the restaurant policy and that no more alcohol was gonna be served to us because they had a line of people outside waiting for a table and that they were going to order more food and drinks then us. When u walk in to el pescador it looks a bit run down and floors dirty. I put in a pick up order it was supposed to have been ready. I get to the front desk the lady tells me she hasn't gotten my order because there table was disconnected because someone didn't plug it in so I waited 30 more minutes. I called to let them know that I was outside since they deliver to your car called twice to let them know I was outsides they said my order was ready and we waited for another 15 minutes and no one brought us our food. We had two margaritas each and one mix drink and it cost $107.00. So regardless how much tequila you put in a single drink it should not cost $25 anywhere. Came in tonight, had couple drinks & some taquitos. Was sitting at the bar. They have raised their prices significantly for Happy Hour. The taco price has gone up about 65%, the drinks by 30%. But had another issue that was upsetting. When sitting at the bar, they keep your tab in a glass in front of you. When I was ready to leave, I looked at my bill, added the tip (which is weird how they do that), and put the bill and my credit card in the glass. One of the female bartenders picked it up, charged my card and returned it to me with the receipt wrapped around the card. I normally don't look at my receipt but I did this time. She had charged me more than what was on the bill. When I asked about it she said they had forgotten to charge me for the 2nd drink, which after looking at the bill, I realized that was true. BUT she should have told me that and NOT just charged my card more money. That is very shady. She did not say a word to me, just charged my card more money and handed me the receipt. I didn't want to leave a yelp review but feel obligated. I have seen many reviews on here about watering down drinks and as I was sitting at the bar, watching them make some drinks when they didn't realize I was watching, there were definitely watering down drinks. Good place to bring your parents on Sunday between 10am and 2pm Took my mom here to listen to the TRIO and have breakfast. We had had an amazing time. Mom loves her romantic spanish music and they have a live band playing which alternates every Sunday between Mariachi and TRIO. The Buffett is like $16 and you get a selection of not too fancy, but not bad Mexican food. They had enchiladas, tacos de asada, pollo, and pork. They also had some fish, fruit, you know whatever a buffet is supposed to have. Like I said nothing too fancy, but for the price and the live music it was pretty much a steal. What we liked most about this place is the atmosphere, it's all positive vibes. Watching my mom smile so big made me happy of course so maybe that is why I gave this place 5 stars. I highly recommend this place to anyone out there with Hispanic or Latin American family members that enjoy live music on Sundays.
