If are near, I.e Putnam or Dutchess county, or far, traveling east or west on I84, you must stop at El Mariachi. This restaurant has the authenticity of a true Mexican cafe in both coziness and cuisine. Truly, the staff smiles when you enter setting the tone for the most relaxing and enjoyable time. Starting with the home made salsa and warm tortilla chips through the generous portions of any entree, el Mariachi always scores a satisfying and delicious dining goallllllll! There's a back deck that catches the summer breezes and is fully insulated for the winter. It's also a great place for a birthday party or any occasion to bring friends together for great food, music and laughter. Their bar is stocked with both foreign and domestic beers and mixed drinks. Their nonalcoholic drinks are awesome as well. So, stop on by if you are in town or pop this in your GPS if you are on a trip. You will get "muy feliz" you did!

More than 20 years in the Hudson valley and this was the closest thing to remind me of true Mexican cuisine in the area.Great ambience, the atmosphere is friendly and comforting.Decent waiting time and not complaining because the food was phenomenal.Other restaurants in the are Usually don t have the enough supply or the options.im a very picky person and would say well money spent .happy holidays everyone!!

A MUST VISIT family-owned Mexican restaurant right off RT 84. You won't be disappointed! We were traveling and saw the excellent reviews on yelp and so happy we made the stop. What a sweet place with a relaxing ambiance, amazing food and the friendliest staff who greet you with a smile at the door. The Mexican fare is the best I remember having in the eastern states. I can't recall a better tasting salsa served with chips upon seating. We ordered the guacamole made fresh at the table, street corn and shrimp with the most amazingly delicious, savory tomatillo sauce served w rice and refried beans . It tasted like home cooking, only better. Yum! Homemade hot sauce was available, also delicious. The home made drinks -Jamaica and Tamarindo served in large colorful glasses were so delicious! We were impressed with the value for the quality and amount of food served. Manager shared they had been opened for a year and half. Wishing them all the very best success as it will definitely be on our travel list for returning!

I took a quick look at the ratings and the food photos and that was enough for us to set the GPS for the Stone House. Entering, we were greeted immediately and made to feel very welcome. The dining room was lively but we had a nice table and soon had water and bread, which came with a delicious sauce of some kind that had vegetables and cheese in it. It was so good they should sell jars of it! We ordered some shrimp cocktail to start (those were some giant shrimp, although it was only three and four would have been a nice even number) and then I had the rib eye for my main. It doesn't come with anything so I ordered fries on the side. That steak was outstanding! The flavor, the texture...everything was amazing. It came out on a sizzling skillet and it tasted as good as it looked. It was also so big that I took half of it home for lunch and if possible, it tasted even better the next day. I was very pleased. The fries were also exceptional and even though the serving was big, I ate them all. I couldn't help myself! Since I took half of my steak home, I decided there was room for dessert and the chocolate mousse didn't disappoint. The food was so good and the service was so warm and friendly, I definitely want to go back to Stone House Grill. If you're nearby, stop in for a meal. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Unfortunately, the appetizers were a rough start. The lobster bisque was very watery/liquidy, and the lobster itself was tough. The Brussels sprouts were also overcooked. That said, the staff handled the situation very well and were extremely attentive and accommodating when we sent the soup back. The main entrées were much better and really saved the experience. I had the sea bass, my husband ordered the ribeye, and my sister-in-law had the veal -- all were hot, flavorful, and cooked very well. The veal was especially tender. Service throughout the evening was excellent, and you can tell the team is trying hard to make this newer restaurant successful. Overall, while the appetizers and overall execution didn't quite match the upscale price point yet, the entrées and attentive staff gave us enough reason to come back and give them another try. Hopefully, with a little refinement, especially on the starters, they can grow into the fine dining experience they're aiming for.

I will say it can get quite loud in there when full which it was on a Saturday night. We shared a salad to start- it was some sort of winter salad with spinach. For mains he got a steak- the steak itself was well cooked and flavorful. The mashed potatoes normally his favorite side were quite bland. He had me try them and I agreed. I ordered the mushroom ravioli. I went to take my first bite however and found they'd brought out the lobster ravioli instead. After awhile of waiting they brought out the correct meal. They did comp the ravioli which was very nice and aside from the small mix up we had great service throughout. We'll definitely come back but it is pricier than our average meal out. Hoping to try their brunch soon!

The staff is consistently friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. The servers know the menu well and are happy to make recommendations, making every visit feel relaxed and enjoyable. One of our favorite times to visit is for their weekend brunch buffet, which offers a great variety of options. During the week, their Happy Hour (4-7 PM) is another favorite, especially the $1 oysters. It gets busy, so I definitely recommend arriving early. Just keep in mind that Happy Hour is available only in the bar and lounge area. The restaurant is clean, has a spacious parking lot shared with the neighboring restaurant, and offers a beautiful outdoor patio overlooking the river during the warmer months. The patio closes for the winter, but it's one of the best places to dine when the weather is nice. They also have a kids' menu, although my 6-year-old usually orders from the regular menu because she has a very adventurous palate. We went for a late lunch and were pleasantly surprised by how attentive the service was. The setting alone is quiet, scenic, and relaxing, adding to the experience feeling special. We're particular about cocktails, and the specialty drinks leaned a bit sweet and light for our taste, but switching to a Grey Goose martini solved that quickly. The standout of the meal was the special appetizer, the Lobster Escargot. Between the bread service and the rich, bisque-like sauce layered over the classic preparation, I could have happily ended the meal right there. We left no trace behind. I followed with the crab cake and wedge salad. The crab cake was generously sized, very fresh, and exactly what I hoped for. My husband ordered the branzino, which was absolute perfection, beautifully cooked and full of flavor. The sides, however, were less memorable; the smashed potatoes and green beans felt under-seasoned and a bit boring compared to the rest of the meal. Overall, it was a lovely anniversary lunch with memorable dishes and a beautiful view.
