Service is great. Wonderful views. Menu is pretty big. A lot to choose from. Owners should invest in some updates to the dining room.

I'm just gonna come out and say it- run like a thief in the night and come to Southeast G. on Rt 6 in Brewster, NY. This is truly comfort food on the cheap. Trust, the quality is all here. This was the best thing for us especially since we were in the area catching up with a few errands. Southeast G's chic, dark grey+black outside design is softened by flowers, the bar area has light wood flooring, large counter off to one side, tables and booths. The space honestly gives out an inviting atmosphere without feeling stuffy. There's also a dining area which faces the reservoir making it perfect for casual events/gatherings. The Tito's Raspberry Tom Collins called me. That sucker started refreshing and its strength soon crept up! My $16 salad with pan seared salmon was fantastic. The dressing was done simply in lemon+oil. Hubs' sliced hanger steak over potatoes, sautéed veggies and drizzled with an demi glace was his winning ticket- and at $20, he enjoyed it to the fullest. Unlike eateries with jacked up prices, this is a terrific all-in-one for us: fantastic prices+strong drink+tasty food. We really couldn't ask for more. These folks take their menu seriously. And by the way- our server Heather, was spot on and pleasant. read more

This is a great go-to place for years. Convenient when we visit family and consistent year after year. There's plenty of parking, a separate bar room and a large dining room with views down to the lake. Unfortunately building codes don't permit outdoor patio seating but grab a window table if you can (reservation required with request). Service has always been friendly and efficient and the food is classy casual, with a nice selection of dishes for everyone. read more

The place itself is lovely, very pretty, and the food is good but the rest is not. The service was extremely slow--mind you we were the only table in the entire place. The staff barely attended to our table for our orders, didn't refill our waters at all until we prompted them, didn't offer tea or coffee at the end of our meal, and again they would not approach the table for so long. We had our bill ready to be paid for 15 minutes and they wouldn't come to collect it. The music will also send you to bed. We decided to try this spot last evening. It had a homey, family feel. The view of the reservoir was lovely. Our waitress was very sweet and efficient. Had lunch with some friends at the Southeast Grille House. This was a halfway meeting place for us. Picked the location because it had great reviews and a lovely view when looking on line for restaurants in the Brewster area. We were not disappointed. The luncheon specials were delicious. The place filled up with a good lunch crowd mid week and the atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. The server was kept hopping but did a wonderful job. Southeast is delicious. I highly recommend the Maple Bourbon Fig Old Fashioned along with the southeast burger!!!! Of course their other food is great too! We had the porkchop special, what a plate of food! Go try them out, their outside b the lake is gorgeous! read more

First off it's NOT fine dining. The service is weak. My flute was dripping wet from a wash. Our waitress didn't even try to dry it off. My soup was microwaved to a point of boiling and sloppy. Not impressed at all read more

Hidden gem in Putnam county! My mother invited my wife and I out to lunch one time, and now we come here for every holiday. The food, the portions, the price, the staff and the atmosphere and amazing! The dining area is beautifully and tastefully decorated and the food is superb and genuinely made to order. My mom is very picky and the staff was beyond accommodating. The restaurant also has these huge windows with gorgeous views of the lawn and foliage in the back. We are long-term customers of the Southeast grille. We were asked to place our order seven minutes after arriving. We said we were not ready and wanted to enjoy our cocktails. We then proceeded to wait 40 minutes before they finally took our order. Always comes out just the way I like it! The staff is very friendly and you get a sense of "everyone knows each other" here. The food is delicious. The appearance is very outdated. I have driven by here a hundred times and would never think to go in but after a work party at this spot I am a changed woman! I have been here since that party and everything is made as ordered. The steak is juicy and cooked perfectly... the fish is incredible... vegetables are fresh! (Not at all what I expected!)
