    Pulled pork sandwich

Finally was able to come back and try some new menu items! We really enjoyed the potato chip nachos, we felt it could have a better presentation but it made up in taste. Everyone enjoyed their sandwiches and their uniqueness. The sweet potato fries come with like a sweet honey dipping sauce which is really yummy. I also want to give a shout out to our waitress Ellie who was a good time! Definitely give this place a try, it had a lot of unique flavor combinations.

This place is great I would always go here on Father's Day with my dad. I always get the fried Mac and cheese bites. The last time I went was before my dads wake and it made me feel good so much nostalgia in this restaurant love it

Ambiance: country vibe with a horse theme. Service: Maybe it is a New York thing, but the service was just lacking. Barely smiled at us or acknowledge us. Slightly irritated with us when we did not have our order on the first time around. Didn't check on us to refill our drinks. Bathroom cleanliness: average Food: I got the firecracker burger. It was temperature hot, but it lacked flavor and there was nothing firecracker to this burger. Very mild. Many of my friends rave about this place. There are not many restaurant options in the area. I would just cook at home instead.

Stopped in for a late lunch with two other people. Food: Good portions but average food. The "Black and Tan Steak Sandwich" was extremely salty and not very flavorful. The "Firecracker Burger" was not spicy- think of it as a burger with some mild pico de gallo added. Service: little on the slow side Ambiance: equestrian/country vibe Value: on the expensive side given the quality Overall cleanliness: average Bathroom cleanliness: average

Came here for dinner with my family just to go somewhere new! It's a somewhat small but cozy restaurant. The waiter was very friendly and attentive. We ordered a bottle of Pinot Grigio (tasted good), calamari for appetizer, and for entrees, we did the wild alaskan salmon, the smokehouse burger, tuscan burger and au poivre burger. Menu is pretty pub food like options, but they were all sooo good! All 4 of us loved and enjoyed our entrees. The prices are also reasonable. We had a great time. Definitely recommend if you'll be in the area.

Oh no... what happened?! Someone else must've been in the kitchen on this visit and the food wasn't nearly as well prepared as on our last visit. I'll start with the good. The pork chops were again fabulous, nicely brined, flavorful and juicy, served with beautifully fried, battered pickled jalapeno and I think peppadew peppers. The accompanying broccoli rabe, which was perfectly prepared last time around, was undersalted, underseasoned, and a touch undercooked this time -- just ok. Buttery mashed potatoes, scratch made to judge by the texture, remained delicious. The skirt steak was still impressively sized on this visit, though it came more well done (medium-well done / well done) than the medium rare we requested, and was undersalted and underseasoned this time around. The accompanying broccoli was similarly flawed, undersalted, underseasoned, and cooked a touch too hard for our family's tastes. The salmon was, in short, a bummer. We probably should've known better than to have ordered it given prior bad experiences with fish and seafood at this restaurant, but our last excellent meal here made us throw caution to the wind. The generously portioned fillet was nicely prepped with crisp, pan-fried edges, and there was a pretty pat of compound butter served atop. But unfortunately, the fish was far past peak freshness and quite fishy, just not enjoyable to eat. The bed of quinoa pilaf it came on was great in concept, with sauteed peppers, onions, and spinach in the mix -- but it was, like the other vegetables we had tonight, undersalted and underseasoned. The pilaf was also unpleasantly oily. A children's grilled cheese was impressively pan fried to a beautiful golden brown, but both the sandwich and the accompanying fries had a hint of rancid oil. Our server this time around was very pushy with drinks and cocktails, and seemed shocked when we said we typically selected our food before matching a wine to it. We'll probably give this restaurant another try or two given the convenient location. But I'll no longer be able to reference the perfectly prepared vegetables we had on our last visit as the metric for area restaurants. You're probably safe if you stick with the meat and potatoes.

Besides from that, I do like the hanging lights, and the staff friendliness. However I would definitely recommend working more on the speed of servers than friendliness, I was waiting for someone to take my order for almost half hour!! The outside of the restaurant is also uninviting, it looks almost abandoned when the lights are dimmed, respectfully: the parking lot is filled with potholes, and there's barely any parking. Recommendation: As a professional business reviewer, I would recommend working on how you make cosmopolitans and start serving more interesting drinks, perhaps create your own drink, get those potholes fixed, expand your parking, and add decorations outside. Please improve, this place has potential!

We visited Rebellion Kitchen + Bar on Thanksgiving Eve, so the restaurant wasn't very busy, but…read morethat actually made the experience even better. The atmosphere felt relaxed and welcoming, and the staff was attentive without ever being rushed. It gave us a great chance to really enjoy the space and the food. We started with the two-cheese crostini, which ended up being one of the highlights of the night. The bread was perfectly crisp, and the cheeses had just the right amount of richness without being heavy. I also tried their seasonal non-alcoholic Spiced Apple-Lini, and it was surprisingly delicious--refreshing, slightly sweet, and very "fall in a glass." For my entrée, I ordered the chicken Milanese, and I have to say it might be the best I've ever had. I'm usually very particular about chicken dishes, but the flavor and texture were spot-on. The breading was light and crispy, and the chicken itself wasn't dry at all. The plate came with a beautiful mix of seasonal vegetables--roasted squash, shaved fennel, cranberries, and arugula--topped with an apple cider vinaigrette that pulled everything together. It tasted fresh, balanced, and really thoughtful. We ended the meal with their cheesecake served with a house-made pistachio crème. The flavor was fantastic, especially the pistachio topping, which really made it unique. My only tiny note is that I personally prefer cheesecake a bit colder and denser rather than closer to room temperature, but that's purely personal preference and didn't take away from enjoying it. The owner also came by to chat with us, and he was incredibly friendly--clearly someone who cares about his guests and the quality of the experience. Between the great service, thoughtful menu, and inviting atmosphere, we're already looking forward to coming back and trying more dishes. Definitely a strong addition to the Danbury dining scene.

Lake House Restaurant -- let me explain something to you…read more I came here for my anniversary with my wife, okay? Romantic intentions. The food was great. The drinks? Even better. Then they sit us by a fireplace... facing the lake. I said out loud, "Are you serious right now?" Because that's not a restaurant--that's a lifestyle flex. This place had me feeling like I was back in Manhattan, living the life I was supposed to live. Sophisticated. Refined. Dangerous levels of happiness. All for about an hour and a half... before I went home to change diapers and clean cat hairballs like a regular civilian. I mean every single day these damn cats throw up somewhere in this house! I hear they got jammed up over some tax nonsense and let me just say this clearly: taxation is theft. If we gotta throw some symbolic tea into the lake in solidarity, I'll bring the boxes. Leave this place alone. It's a diamond in this town. Lake House is elegant without being stiff, romantic without being weird, and just fancy enough to remind you who you used to be before bedtime routines ruined everything. Five stars. I'll be back chasing that feeling again.

We were told when we ordered that the food would be slightly delayed by the kitchen. However, an hour later when we walked out, we had still only been served a few pieces of bread and our tap water. Our waiter stopped by only once during that hour wait to say that our appetizer would be out soon. He didn't refill our glasses, bring additional bread, or explain the delay. Twenty minutes later we were still waiting for our appetizer so we left. Most of the patrons seemed to be waiting for their food as well. The staff should be better trained to handle all situations including delays. This place is going downhill fast.

I unfortunately have mixed feelings about this place! I have been here many times and the photos…read moreare from a recent time where we got the $250 steak. So yeah as you can imagine this place is pricey and is definitely for a special occasion. On this visit we had exceptional service and they even brought us free caviar! I have seen them do this before. We had a girls night here one time and one of my friends got there early. As she waited they gave her a complimentary glass of champagne. This type of customer service is amazing and is what is expected of an establishment of this caliber. I mean a room at the hotel here will cost you about $1000 a night. So as you can guess it is not unusual to see celebrities here as well. Before I get into the food I will tell you what made me give them 3 stars. One morning I brought a friend here that was going through something. I wanted to treat her to a nice breakfast. We sat on there terrace by the fire pits. As I've said before I've been here often. The waiter who was not as friendly as I've had before told me in order to eat there I needed to put a card on file. Huh? I've never seen that before but okay sure. I mentioned how I would likely order something to go to for my husband at the end of our meal. The service was not great because they did not come back and when they finally did they swiped my card and gave me the final check. Huh? I never said I was finished and again I had already mentioned I wanted to order something to go. When I asked this new waitress ( the original guy was no where in sight) why they ran my card already because I specifically said I wanted to order something to go her nonchalant response was that she could just run it again. I've thought about that experience. It felt so off and I would have said something more at the time but again I was having breakfast with a friend who was going through something. Not the time to complain. So when I met someone who worked there at a diffrent event. I shared my experience and asked if this is a policy of there's to put a card on file to eat on the terrace. As you can guess it is not. Unfortunately, as you can imagine I felt discriminated against. I guess our waiter assumed I wouldn't pay my check and wanted to make sure he had my card and he swiped it as soon as he saw us take the last bites on our plates. After I talked to this employee I did write the restaurant to let them know of this experience and sadly I got no reply. I will say I have been back since then and did not get treated that way. But I felt like it's important to let others know. This is by no means a cheap restaurant especially in the economy! I would expect not to be made to feel the way I felt that day and would never want at one to feel that way. Benefit of the doubt maybe that waiter did have someone run out on his check in the past and wanted to ensure it did not happen again. I can understand that because I know some restaurants make the waiter pay for those walkouts, which is also not fair to them. It would have been nice though that when I contacted them about the situation they would have acknowledged what happened. And maybe just better training on how to go about the situation to make sure their customers don't feel like you assume they are criminals. Okay the food. First there French fries are a favorite. Random I know but I appreciate a good fry. The steak was cooked perfectly and the cocktails were got were a 10! I've had food from the breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu. The food is farm to table and I love sitting either outside or by the open kitchen as you watch the chefs cook. All and all I say it's worth going even for a cocktail. Sometimes they have live music playing and it's super cute for a nice date night. They do valet parking and have tons of charging stations.
