Gluten free bread was nicely toasted (harder to toast - takes extra effort.). Tuna sandwich very generous and nice balance of LTO. Crinkle cut fries were not at all greasy. Side salad also very fresh, well prepared and generous portion. Will definitely go again. The restaurant was very clean and the service was kind and attentive. Bright and well lit. The women serving us were very nice and helpful. Breakfast was great--eggs were perfect, sausage was tasty and the citrus salad instead of hash browns was a great substitute. This is a great spot for reasonably priced comfort food. We've been here a couple of times and the staff is always so friendly and the service is quick. The food is tasty and portions are very generous. We could seriously split a sandwich and be full...not that we do, but we could! Their burgers are very good, full of flavor and very juicy. Wow. Where to begin? Went in for brunch on a weekday with hubby. I ordered their "homemade" corned beef hash and eggs, hubby had corned beef sandwich. HORRIBLE on both. I tasted his beef, and it tasted BAD, as in old. My hash was closer to dog food (no, really, it was) than CBH. I mean, I use Mary Kitchen CBH at home and it's LOADS better in quality out of a can. I asked for grilled tomatoes in place of any starch, and got sliced tomatoes barely warm. My husband's fries were the usual frozen, garden-variety, and not cooked long enough; not even hot, really. Did this short-order cook have an appointment to go to? He certainly seemed to not have enough time to cook...it *did* come out super fast, actually. Well, *we* had an appt to go to. So we ate...hubby wouldn't believe me on the sandwich, but he took half home, then I threw it out before he could find it, lol. I told the hostess/manager how bad things were as we paid, and she was VERY nice, comped more than half my meal and said she'd speak to the cook. But, um...not going back anytime soon. Too bad, because the service, meaning the waitress, was excellent. She deserves 5 stars just for working there. We were in the area for breakfast on a weekend morning, so we decided to stop in at Mill Plain since it was the closest diner to where we were coming from. We were seated quickly, and the staff got our food out to us quickly. I had the corned beef hash with scrambled eggs, which wasn't bad, and my fiancé ordered the short rib hash and eggs, which we both agreed was just average as well. The short rib didn't have much flavor at all, and some of our breakfast potatoes were a bit crunchy, alluding to how they should've been cooked a little longer. The diner itself had a cute, classic feel to it which is why it drew us in too. I don't see ourselves coming back unfortunately with there being so many other options in the area. read more

I got the bolognese. My Italian heart was INSULTED. I had never had anything so horrible. It was chunks of ground meat and chunks of pork in a red "sauce" (more of straight tomato paste). It was disgusting. I should hope their more diner-like foods are better but I can only attest to what I ate, which made me want to throw up. I was in the area for a few days and stopped by here twice. Both times we got great service and good food. Nothing extraordinary, just good, solid diner food at a reasonable price with quick service. Everyone that was with me had no complaints. Breakfast is pretty hard to screw up, so I can't speak to the other menu choices. The pancakes were good and filled the plate. The omelet I ordered was large enough to fill me up. Server was nice and kept our drinks full. One person in the group got a breakfast bowl and it was huge. The Reuben is excellent, with tasty sauerkraut and lots of corned beef. I ordered a Caesar salad which was also very good. Brisket appetizer was delicious. We went to The Mill Plain Diner in Memorial Day for breakfast and it was super busy. We only waited about 5 minutes and then we were seated. The waitress was at our table in less than 5 minutes. We ordered and waited about maybe 15 minutes (which is very quick when it's so busy) and we got our breakfast. I ordered steak and eggs, steak medium rare eggs over easy, homefries well done with rye toast. They got everything right except my steak (which came well done) but it was not bad at all. The waitress offered to make me another steak but it was fine. When I went to the counter the owner asked how everything was and I told him about my steak and he took my breakfast off the bill. I really wanted to pay as I did eat the steak he wouldn't let me, so to say the food and service was exceptional is not enough. I really don't know where to start. I only been there twice and always get a really amazing tasty food. My favourite one is buttermilk chicken sandwich. it is so delicious tender and very juicy. Their serving size is so giant and very plenty enough food always serves. My other half and I tried Lemon cake. sometimes Lemon flavour might be not real but theri desert made by ral lemon and was sooo delicious. can't wait to try their other dishes . We were around the corner and decided to stop here. We had heard good things. The diner is acute place and has a good and cute vibe inside. As soon as we arrived we were seated. They were busy but not lunch crowded which for lunchtime on a Saturday I'm not sure if that was a good thing. My husband just wanted a snack so he ordered a grilled cheese and a side of fries, I ordered falafel with GF bread and hot cocoa with no whip cream. My hot cocoa came with white cream had to send it back. Fine, no issues. Our waitress was super friendly. However when our bill came we were astounded everything was billed separately. The grill cheese was one price, fries another, my falafel one price the bread another even though the bread was originally part of the meal and normally GF bread is an extra $2 anywhere we go they tried charging me $6 for 2 slices of GF toast. We took the bill to the front and dealt with it there they got snotty with us. We said forget it paid it and said never coming back again. Absurd! read more

A nice portion and well seasoned. The hash is another story. I'm always looking for good homemade hash and this was promised to be that. Expensive at $13 but should be worth it. I even confirmed "homemade" with the waitress. There's no way it's homemade! How do I know? Because it looks and tastes EXACTLY like the stuff I get out of a can. Minuscule pieces of meat and superfine diced potatoes with a mushy consistency. The canned stuff I make at home is actually better because I grill it to a nice crust. read more

This is a local diner, with a great menu selection. Their dessert displays looked phenomenal! The first thing you see, walking in, grabbing your attention were those muffins. Almost like they came out of the wax museum, ha! The menu selections were very diverse.. it had the usual comfort foods and then some. The food results came out very solid. Table service was very nice. The entire place is very tidy. In addition, it was such a large place, seating was ample, but it was still over 50% filled up for a non-lunch, non-dinner odd hour. This goes to show that the establishment has a very good customer base. The main attraction for this review is the customer service, that went above and beyond. The lady who took our payment ran out to the parking lot to try to catch us, because I left an item. We were literally pulling out of the driveway spot, and the lady told us we were going the wrong direction. Yikes! Please support your local businesses! read more

Avoid this one like the plague. Iceberg lettuce the primary green in my Cobb salad. No vinaigrette offered or available, only a blue cheese dressing goop (attached picture here) Rubbery chicken inedible (cheapest chicken at BJ's no doubt), no avocado, no bacon, not a Cobb salad, more like a blob salad. Over ripe cherry tomatoes. Yuck! Wifey had a wrap with fries. Classic brand ketchup (picture attached). To cheap for Heinz, thenketchup gold standard, even at diners. Tea without side tim hot water, just a little cup. Had to ask for more hot water when the server, who spoke only a little English, stopped in the table area. Last, when you pay, the guy at the counter asks if you want to leave the tip on your credit card which of course most people do. Then he ask how much and you have to verbally tell him.
