    #3 2 Enchiladas ($14.55)
    Elena N.

Date: Sunday, August 11th, 2024 Time: around 1am Party of: 2 Meal: Late Night Dinner Takeaway How: Drive Thru *#3 2 Enchiladas ($14.55) *Burrito de Carnitas ($11.65) *Salad: No Fajitas, Grilled Chicken ($11.55) *Street Taco ($2.99): Lengua ($0.50) *Taco de Fish ($5.25) *Crispy Taco: Ground Beef ($3.99) *Street Taco: Adobada ($2.99) *ATM / Credit Card Fee ($0.35) The hubby and I have been going up to Tahoe most weekends. Since dinner happens when we get there, we always grab food on the way. We've normally gotten fast food, but I started looking around to see what's open late on the way up. In my search, I found El Forastero. Their drive thru is 24 hours, so we decided to check it out. I enjoyed the street tacos. A good size and simple. Great with all the salsas we got. The crunchy taco stayed crispy on one side, so I was able to enjoy the crunch. The salad wasn't so much a salad as a plate of meat with some lettuce. I'm not sure why they asked me if I wanted fajitas. Maybe they come with them? If so, I'd say this would be more of a fajita plate with some veggies. The fish taco was a lil weird. Very chewy on the ends of each fish piece. Almost like fish jerky? The amount of chicken was generous. The hubs seemed to enjoy his enchiladas and burrito. Using the drive thru, we were a little confused. No one was on the speaker and we didn't hear the car in front of us ordering, so we just drove up to the window. We turned out to be the dumb ones since we saw the car in front of us getting her order right when she drove up to the window. So don't be stupid like us and not use the speaker. The drive thru person was very sweet and just took our order when we drove up. Luckily there were no cars behind us. Great spot for late night Mexican. Tho pay no attention to the online menu prices. I believe they are incorrect. REVIEW #3517

This was our first time trying thos place. We just moved here and I wanted to try it. The gentleman who took our order was very polite and knowledgeable. Made our visit enjoyable. The place was very clean. We ordered inside and had to wait a bit but our food was made to order and when we got home it was still very warm. I have to say the food was spot on presentable. Great aroma and great flavors. For a "fast food" establishment, it was very good. My husband is a Chef and I own a Catering business, Mexican is one of my specialties and I have to say that this particular place is very good. Might be the cook but it's also nice that you get greeted and acknowledged when you go inside. We will try it again sooner than later.

Tortilla is the same size but the amount of filling has been reduced. Keep in mind prices have increased. Save your $14.06 you'd spend on a #24 and make your own or skip all together. What you get for the price no longer worth it in my opinion. Buyer beware, this place has been hit by skrinkflation.

I've been here twice and both times was not disappointed! Both times I got a burrito in the drive through. This time I got the carnitas super burrito. It makes 3 meals for me. Very tasty! It was full of authentic Mexican food flavors. The drive through was very fast! I was there for less than 5 min. The young attendant was polite! He had manners and that impresses me in this day! All of the above reasons earned five stars IMO. I Will be back!

The food was yummy. Our waiter was terrific. I ordered Rojas chicken posole. It was served in a big ole bowl that was bigger than my Charlie Brown head. The broth had a good flavor. The shredded cabbage was served already mixed in the posole. The posole was topped with chopped onions, dry oregano, and chopped cilantro with lime wedges served on the side. I'm used to everything served on the side including the cabbage. I like to control the quantity of toppings. A bit of a control freak. Next time I'll ask for the items on the side. The posole had a lot of shredded cabbage and hominy. Each spoonful had a textured crunch from the cabbage. Slurping and chomping my posole. The hominy was soft and tender without being mushy. The complimentary chips n salsa were divinely delicious. Salsa was packed with flavor, nice thickness. No watery soupy salsa here. The chips were crisp and light. This Paco's is a sit down casual restaurant while the one in Pollock Pines is counter service. Both have a fun luchador theme that's understated without being outrageous. This location has a bar in the dining room shared space. The atmosphere can get rambunctious. Not rowdy but rambunctiously loud.

We gulped down the horchata. Totally hit the spot on a hot day. The queso birria tacos were loaded with meat and cheese, and I was so happy they were served with multiple lime wedges! The dipping sauce was so flavorful too. Highly recommended! The chile verde plate was ok, not much pork up in there. In comparison, we had the chile verde burrito at the taqueria and were super happy with it. Will probably stick with the tacos and burritos in the future, but overall a solid choice in Placerville!

We made a reservation for our party of 10. Glad we did because this was a poplar place and filled up quickly for lunch. I've never dined here before, not because of any particular reason. But glad I gotta finally. Good food, outstanding customer service, and relaxing welcoming vibes. Service was awesome. Our waiter was on it! He had an engaging personality and did a superb job. Got drinks out, food came out hot n quick and all about the same time, refills attended to without asking, and they even allowed us to split checks (we asked for 3). Awesome! We received complimentary chips and salsa. No complaints there. The salsa was flavorful with a nice thickness. It took me forever to choose... the options were plentiful. I ended up ordering the lamb shank. $23.The shank itself is a distinctive flavor cut of meat. If it's cooked right, it should be moist, fork tender and infused with the slices used. Well ... they did it right! Spiced and marinated giving it flavor to pair with the shank's natural distinct flavor. Mmm. The plate came with Mexican rice and refried beans with flour or corn tortillas. The rice was fluffy. The refried beans were tasty. Prepared well, no aftermath toots. The restaurant is not new but well kept and maintained. Relaxing, family friendly vibes. The interior decor was festive. Beautiful carved wooden booths. They have a separate bar area offset in its own room. The women's restrooms had beautiful colorful tiled bathroom sinks. Fun pop of color.

The host was very kind and offered to ask the manager if we could sit inside with the dog but the answer was an expected sorry, no. So far great service. When we came back we were seated right away at a comfortable booth. We ordered 3 street tacos. Two Al pastor and one carne asada. They brought out chips and salsa right away with waters. I ordered a top shelf margarita to share with my boyfriend. Good thing we shared because it was huge! It said it had a floater shot, but I couldn't see that and it didn't come on the side like it usually does. Makes me question if it was even in there? The tacos took about 30 minutes to come out which was a very long time for 3 tacos. BUT they were very good quality tacos. Seemed like the corn tortillas could've been made in house. The quality of the al pastor and the carne seemed very good. I really enjoyed the tacos. I'd say the wait will be longer because the quality is fresh. I would definitely come back again!
