Best bbq in Placerville, El Dorado County great BBQ platter,…read morereasonably priced and generous portions. helpful and friendly staff; fast service clean interior with cool decoration signs and outdoor dining easy parking adjacent to CA-49 and US-50 freeway Brisket, pulled pork, ribs, jalapeño sausage, tri-tip, cornbread chili, Mac and cheese, salad were tender and legit. Pecan pie was also great. Highly recommended to stop by while visiting this Historic Gold Rush Town and on your way to Tahoe-Nevada: this place is a must-try and worth it. I would certainly return again eventually while visiting Placerville and Tahoe-Nevada.

I was going to update my previous review and can't believe I never wrote a review before. My past experience would had a 5 start review. We loved everything. Today's experience was 4 star (I could do 4.5 if that was an option). The St Louis Ribs are my favorite along with brisket. But I just can't eat that much anymore, so I limited myself to just the ribs. The half rack was 6 big bones. I like my ribs naked so I can taste the rub. Sure enough, them puppies came with no sauce which allowed me enjoy the rub (pretty good but I wanted more) and to try the varying sauces available (Sweet and Spicy being the winner). I found the ribs to be meaty but dry. The expected slip n slide fat feature had been evaporated. The chunky potato salad side was disappointing and the few chucks were close to mashed potato texture and the dressing was too liquid. Hog Wild used to have a smoked Turkey sando which my DW loves. Unfortunately, it has disappeared from the menu and now Chicken is the only poultry option. She reported it to be good but dry. Her Caesar salad though was terrific. Good sized, we both ate it and still couldn't finish it. One minor suggestion. As you have Pepsi products for fountain drinks; adding Pepsi Zero would be a popular thing. Zero is much better than the Diet in our experience.

Shoutout to Shingle Springs, CA. Delicia Restaurant…read more This small family owned and operated Mexican restaurant captured my heart after every minute passed while dining and after every bite. It was my first time here. The welcoming vibe, clean and simply quaint interior, very cool family staff, comforting yummy food and pricing made it a 5 star for me. I ordered the carne asada plate $18 that came with beans and rice. Mmm. Delicious. The meat had flavor, nicely cooked. Easy to cut with the typical restaurant steak knife( which you and I know isn't really a steak knife) but I'm saying this to make a point of the quality and tenderness of the carne asada. Refried beans and rice were on point, great flavor and consistency. But those beans were so good, I'm still thinking about them. Plus I had no after effects (chuckle) which means they were prepared well. The entree came with tortillas and condiments of chopped onion, cilantro, cream, gauc, and limes which not alot of restaurants provide. The entree was served on a warm plate. Nice touch pro touch. The chips are complimentary and self serve. The chip warmer is near the register. They provide the red salsa to your table. The chips tasted fresh and had a crispness. It held up after a bite and didn't fall apart. The salsa was phenomenal OMG yum, beautiful color, rich flavor. Mmm. Hubs ordered a tamale. $7.50. It was a good size, bigger than what I thought it would be. Check the photo I posted. That too was served on a warmed plate. The red sauce was OMG delicious. They give a generous serving of sauce. But you'll eat it all with the biggum tamale. Now to address the elephant in the room. (1) Since it's family operated and small staffed, that comes with potential wait times. Not loooong waits in service but not instantaneous either. In a fast paced world, even initially I thought 5 minutes was an eternity between seeing our server before I actually realized it was only less than 5 minutes. I survived and didn't collapse due to dehydration of not having my water glass refilled. Momentarily not having fresh napkins doesn't fall under survival skills. Possible wait time is mentioned in the menu. (2) The last seating is 30 minutes before the closing time. This is also mentioned on their menu.

The food was also fantastic. Generous portions, fair prices, and everything tasted fresh. It's hard to find places that check all the boxes these days. I had three Carne Asada tacos and they were some of the best tacos that I've had. I know Olympic Valley is pricey, it is a resort town. But his food truck is a nice addition and much cheaper than the food in the village. There was one Customer in front of me, Josh asked me what I was driving, and when the tacos were prepared, he brought them out to my car. The meat was not only cooked perfectly, but the spices were perfect. The meat was not dry at all, and it was a good mix of spices and just the right amount of cilantro. There were some grilled red onions, that added a nice sweetness. I've never had red onions on my tacos, but from now on, they will be the go to. The tacos were served with salsa Verde. It had the right amount of spice and tartness. Probably from tomatillos. There was also sour cream on the side. Delicious and presented well. I recommend trying them the next time you go skiing. When I stop by next time, I will find out if tacos are available in the summertime. I've only been here in the winter.

I'm giving just 4 stars because the honey was sweet but not that spicy and the jalapeño was more of a bell pepper - also not that spicy. But the thin crust was good and I didn't have to wait too long. Service was inviting and informative. I liked that they had a buzzer to tell me when it was done which made it more of an appealing vibe. Other food trucks had people waiting around for the name to be called - the buzzer is WAY better. The food truck itself is gorgeous. To see the wood fire over from the big windows was super cool!

I walked over with my coworker around 11:45 and luckily, there was no wait. Thanks to our Philanthropy team I had a voucher for a free meal that I was excited to use. The service was lacking, the person who took my order seemed annoyed that I was using the voucher so that was a bit of a turn off. We ordered the Garden Vibe and got our order in about 10 minutes. Despite the service, the pizza was DELICIOUS and I love that it was a thin crust. The portion size originally looked small but I was able to share it with two of my coworkers and we were all very satisfied. Overall, great pizza but the customer service aspect of my visit could have been way better. If I see the truck around and I'm in the mood for pizza, I will definitely get it again.
