Just finished demoshling dinner from this place and omg!! I didn't even have time to take a pic! I ordered pick up, the food was just finishing as I arrived. SO GLAD I checked it out. As a vegetarian it can be hard to find not lame dishes but the Black Bean Patty Melt did not disappoint. SO MUCH FLAVOR! The sauce was my favorite part. The combination between the slightly crunchy but still soft bread and the texture of the black beans and sauce was incredible. After reading so many accolades regarding the best " Cuban "sandwiches in the Seattle area I made the 45 minute drive up here to check it out for myself. Being Cuban myself and raised in Miami I was excited to get what I thought would be an authentic Cuban experience. I got anything but that. The sandwiches were not on authentic Cuban bread like they claim but more like a baguette. I'm Cuban and originally from Miami, finding authentic Cuban cuisine has been a challenge in Seattle. This is the closest I have found. The Cuban sandwich is 'Perfect'. Exactly the way they make it back home and takes me back to my childhood. Pickles and all! Ive also tried the Cuban tamal which was also spot on. The macaroni salad is something any traditional Cuban household would whip up from time to time, but the corn and black olive threw me off a little. It wasn't bad, just different. Also had the pork and Moro another time which were very good but blander than what I'm accustomed to. Maduros were sweet but a little hard and possibly needed more time to ripen before cooking. All-in-all, if you're looking for good Cuban food I'd recommend El Cubano!! I for one will definitely be back. read more

I haven't even finished my sandwich but have to write a review. This is one of the best sandwiches I've ever had! We got the classic Cubano with the hot sauce and the garlic cilantro sauce on the side. Everything was delicious - especially the tender roasted pork and bread! While I was waiting I saw them making some of the other items on the menu. I can't wait to explore a bit next time. The cashier was pleasant, albeit slammed, and mentioned that business was doing well since the Seattle Times mention. I'm so happy to see more local food options coming to Shoreline! I ordered a gluten free plate to-go, and noted that I had a gluten allergy. When I opened the container at home, I found 3 pieces of bread (NOT noted in the menu) on my food. Given the allergy, I know it's dumb to try eating around it. I did try the meat and it was excessively salty. So, even without the gluten contamination, it was inedible. Found this place when staying nearby. A small, focused takeout place, the food is uniformly excellent. I have had Cuban sandwiches in a variety of places and this one is head and shoulders above the rest. Every sandwich is fresh, tasty and piled with a great balance of ingredients. They do killer Cubano sandwiches, my wife loved her Tamal con bistec, and I loved her extras, the tamal was so creamy, with incredible flavors and texture, the bistec was great. My son and I each had a classic Cubano, wonderful bread with killer ham/roasted pork and swiss cheese and flavor! We also had the Moros, blackbeans/rice with fried plantains, that was a total treat. It is right behind Aurora Village Costco near the Costco Gas station, come in from 99 and hang an immediate right to go into their lot. A good Cubano, not the best, but good. I prefer Bongos, when they're on the ball. I've had a couple of solidly burned sandwiches from Bongos. Wouldn't go back, per se, because I personally know how to make a far greater product, but if you don't feel like roasting a pork shoulder for three hours and getting all the other items needed, go here.
