If you are here for western ambience, you're in the right place, Amazing pictures of the Old West, and some pretty spiffy costumes on display. As for food, it's basically a meat and potatoes place. Huge helpings of average meat. Youre not going to get options so if you have a big appetite and don't mind steak a bit tough, it's just fine. read more

Great steak & prime rib. Very good service. Sides could use a bit more variety. Atmosphere old& tired.

The food was great dinner rolls garlic and buttery yum. PrimeRib delicious 3 of us had filet mignon cooked to perfection! Waitress was attentive and served all our food at once! We were a party of 13. Awesome will definitely go back read more

Stopped here for dinner with the family. We used to come here regularly when we lived in Tucson 26 years ago. Still really good. Started off with the bartender being awesome getting us drinks while we were waiting for our table. Next, our server was really good. Attentive, pleasant and always there for our table of 11. Brilliant food. The prime rib is still really good. Everyone loved the tamale pie. Want to go back soon. Highly recommend. read more

Over the past 33 years my wife and I have made the El Corral our go to when we are craving excellent prime rib. The service is great, the pricing is fair and western old school feel, makes the restaurant have lots of character. If you are craving Prime Rib and a fun night out, reserve a table. read more

My family has been coming here for years! My dad used to even work here when he was younger. Service is always super friendly and fast. I crave their prime rib at least once a month. The interior is super western and you feel like you're in a saloon without the tackiness like pinnacle peak. I genuinely don't know why it's only a 3 star reviewed place. I can promise it's a wonderful place, just give it a try! read more

Delicious prime rib ! Our server was very polite and helpful throughout our entire dinning experience. Will definitely go back when we visit Tucson next month. read more

I ate dinner here recently. I used to eat here occasionally, but this was my first time in decades. It did not disappoint. I had a French dip sandwich with a tamale pie and borracho beans as side dishes. I shared an appetizer of onion rings with my friends. The food was all good, service was quick, and the old-fashioned Western decor is nice. My dinner came to just $15.78 including tax and tip. If you order a steak, of course, you can spend a lot more, but I was impressed that the menu included some very reasonable options. read more

The service was fine but the steaks and side dish were lukewarm, the salads skimpy. The dining room chairs too small and the lighting harsh. Underwhelming. read more

I have been going to this restaurant since I was a child and always a stop when I'm in Tucson. Tamale pie is a must and table tossed salad. T bone is my favorite steak there. read more

Second time here, love the filet and loaded potato! It's like stepping bs k in time! Dinner salad with thousand Island! It was packed our reservation was not on time and we ate at the bar, it was perfect! read more

I'm really surprised to see that this restaurant has 3 stars. I give it a 5 star rating. Really neat restaurant, decor, atmosphere, ambience, etc. Food is outstanding. I got their salmon. It's really good. Service is above par. Servers are attentive and friendly. Highly recommended. When I go back to Tucson, I will return to El Corral. read more

El Corral - Steakhouses Near Me - Tucson, Arizona

Wow! I've been in Tucson for about 2 months and experienced some really good food, but this was by far the best meal I've had. My wife and I split the largest prime rib and the kids had burgers from the kids menu. (These are such a good value for the quality of burger you get.). We also got a mud pie dessert that was amazing! Our server was very attentive, and the vibe is so cool as the restaurant has a cool history. This is our new go-to place in Tucson, and we look forward to coming back often. read more

First time, went to celebrate a birthday - excellent choice! Server, Carol, was AMAZING!! Super sweet and helped with providing the perfect atmosphere and helping with our 3-yr old. Dinner was delicious! Steaks, salads, special tiny plate of broccoli just for our little one - delicious! Tables spaced perfectly in each room so even if busy, it's cozy and quiet. Will definitely come back! read more

Ok - I have lived in Tucson since 1985 - and during that time have lived right next door to El Corral. When we first started going there it was a fraction of the size but always big on character. We celebrated many birthdays, anniversaries and regular old hungry nights in that place that was big on charm and yummy cowboy classics. At some point during the last decade things started to slide and we stopped going. Well, I will tell you what, they are BACK. The service is attentive, accommodating and so friendly. The food - better than before. We started with Cadillac margaritas, crisp house salads with homemade dressings and feasted on giant racks of pork ribs with scrumptious barbecue sauce and tamale pie. They are known for their prime rib but I am not a fan of prime rib in general so I cannot say. My sister has had the petite filet and enjoyed it highly. Howdy partners, we will be back! read more

Came back to give it another try after management reached out. Was promptly seated and waitress was great. This time we tried prime rib and petite filet. Both meats tasty. Tamale pie was more a pile of melted cheese than corn masa. Starter salad a joke- no improvement. Rolls still cold, hard tasteless. While management responds, it does not appear simple changes are acted on. I see the same complaints in numerous reviews. Tucson has a up and coming culinary scene and at this price point, this quality wont suffice. I dont forsee El Corral being around much longer. read more

El Corral - Not the quality salad you would expect for $30 meal. - Steakhouses Near Me - Tucson, Arizona

We've been going to El Corral for decades so we have a particularly good overview of its food and service. By far, the food last evening was better than we've ever experienced there. My husband and niece were happy with prime rib and filet. The ribs were fantastic. If you haven't tried it in a while, it's worth going back. read more

Ribs were very dry and tasteless! Everything was unappetizing! Won't be going back! Not busy for a Saturday night.

Serving up steaks and other offerings for a half a century this restaurant was fun and had great prices. Plus a wonderful ambience. A large wood fired grill is open to see from one of the dinning areas. Lots of memorabilia to look at adorn this property. If you live in this area or visiting and have never been here you are missing a taste of history. read more

Service was great. Food very mediocre. Has a potential to be a really great western steakhouse but the food falls short. The salads were bagged salads, the grilled chicken, very subpar, The tamale pie was tasty, but served barely warm. It would be nice if they had some kind of western music. read more

I have came a few times and was having dinner with both my parents and my in-laws and was treated terribly. Was told they wouldn't be serving us alcoholic and we were cut off after 1 drink that we hadn't even finished. We told the older white lady she must be confused on her tables and she informed us she didn't care what we thought. We got and told her we would be leaving and would not be treated racially as there was no other Hispanics in the restaurant working or dining in and she told us she didn't care how we feel. Extremely rude and beyond disturbing read more

The prime rib, which is supposed to be their specialty was pretty good. However, the salmon, chicken, filet, and ribeye dishes were average at best. I did not care for the tamale pie, nor did others in my party, and the mashed potato brown gravy was on par with middle school cafeteria. For a party of 6, it cost me $205, so we were disappointed with the food. on the other hand, the ambience and service was very good and enjoyable. El Corral, tell your kitchen to get it together! read more

Went here for my daughter's birthday dinner with a group of seven. The service was great, the food was fabulous, and everyone had a fun time. Appreciated that all the entrees came with salad and bread. I especially recommend the prime rib, which was cooked perfectly and came out with fresh horseradish. read more

Don't believe the hype. Just because it's old doesn't mean it's good. Salad, from a bag. Meat, fatty and not as tender as described, and the asparagus overdone, wilted and greasy. The rolls...so disappointing, i miss the onion bread. I don't even think it was butter, tasted like margarine. . Our server was polite and helpful. I am still bitter over the terrible rolls. Especially disappointing when i had such a good memory from the last time I was there, which was before the pandemic. read more

Best prime rib steak in Tucson especially with the horseradish. Old school decor. Call, pleasant atmosphere.

Have been here a few times now. Place is overall good. Business definitely shows it's age. Tables are old and chairs are small. Service was good. Not great. Waiter was slow. Food is average. Not amazing. Their prime rib was good. Beer selection needs to be improved. Only a couple draft beers and the rest bottled. Would come back because it's good ambiance. read more

Wonderful cuts of meat, well cooked and seasoned. Our waiter AJ was great very attentive and great customer service overall. read more

El Corral is such a quintessential Tucson establishment, so much so that i will overlook areas where they fall short in deference to the general awesomeness of the place. It might not be the best steak or prime rib in the world, but for $13 for a petite cut (which is not really that petite) and $17 for a hefty T-bone, you can't do much better, if at all. I'll gladly pay $17 here over $28 at a "finer" establishment such as Cattleman's or Ruth Chris. My T-bone was cooked perfectly, and seasoned enough to impart it with juicy, salty goodness. The grill guy was able to cross-hatch sear the meat just right to give it the grill marks so pleasing to the eye. The soup of the day was clam chowder and I was surprised to find it very homemade tasting. I had expected something out of a can but happily it wasn't so. The tamale pie is still old faithful and won't disappoint. I tried the mashed potatoes and gravy and unfortunately it might have very well come from a mix. The gravy could give KFC a run for the money though. Service was solid and I had no complaints. The food was brought out quick and hot. The economic downturn has its upside. We didn't have to wait an hour to get a seat, and the dining room was not crowded or noisy at all. We were seated instantly. I remember the old days when there would be a huge crowd of eager diners waiting for their name to be called out in front of the restaurant. Back in the day we use to pull shenanigans such as sending one person an hour early to get our name on the list. Sad to see business slow down like that though, but I suspect they will survive as they have in the past. I love this place!! read more

We went with 13 family members for a birthday dinner, which included 2 babies and two toddlers, and their moms and dads. Plus more family members. The food was great, cooked perfectly, everybody got their food at the same time and the service was great. One of my favorite places to eat in Tucson. read more

Ahhh-mazing prime rib! We came in and got seated right away, the place is huge, with a ranch style kind of vibe. The sever was very helpful and friendly and very attentive. We tried the green chili appetizer which was very good and the el coral prime rib with a salad and mashed potatoes. Man! That was good prime rib and in my opinion, tasted better than my favorite at outback restaurant! The server came out with the salad and tossed all the ingredients and dressing in front of us which was pretty unique and fresh tasting. I just loved my experience here and would definitely come back! read more

We came here for dinner last Sunday. All 3 of our meals were cold. Steaks and sides.. After advising our waiter she took the plate back and it returned STILL very cold. The steak also had no flavor. This is our second time coming here with a bad experience. Highly disappointed with this restaurant and will not be returning read more

We had a military reunion for my husband's Vietnam unit and 43 of us came to dinner last Friday night and used the private room. I went to El Corral for the first time last night with a party of 10 (including four children). The service was friendly, and the food was served quickly. The server brought out complimentary rolls that were a bit dry but not bad. I ordered the Tucson cut of the prime rib (6 ounces) for $19.99, which came with a side salad and one other side. I chose the baked potato, which was moist and cooked well. The prime rib was tender and cooked to my liking (medium rare), but the au jus lacked flavor. My boyfriend chose the tamale pie for his side; it's a delicious corn and chile casserole topped with melted cheese. I would definitely choose this as my side if I return. El Corral is a Tucson staple, with reasonable prices that are what you'd expect for a mid-range steakhouse. read more

I basically like the place, having eaten there many times. What was otherwise an excellent meal, however, was ruined by the table side salad that was filled with old and wilted greens, even some with brown & slimey edges. That was not a great way to start a meal. El Corral also has an issue with Covid-19 virus control. While I chose a take-out to avoid a higher chance of infection, I witnessed a large party seated who had finished eating. They not only still had their masks off, but were singing. Singing is one of the ways of being the most viral infectious in public. I should also note that no outdoor dining was offered. Their bar & restaurant really should limit themselves to curb-side take-out only. Please, El Corral do a better job at controlling Covid-19. read more

Enjoyed an evening out at El Corral last night. Each time we've gone our expectations are high & they never disappoint. From the 1st time I ordered the Prime Rib , Ive never ordered anything else, it is always very very good & the horseradish is amazing (HOT!) as well. My husband got the Ribeye & it too was good ( not quite as tasty as usual but still good). For that special dinner hour out I 'd highly recommend El Corral. Love the casual attire also. read more

Very disappointed. Two stars only because the prime rib was good although VERY small portion. The horseradish is just straight horseradish, they don't bother offering a less harsh mix. The waitress seemed annoyed, not rude but not friendly. Went in on a Friday night about 8, was surprised they closed so early at on weekend but I see why. Restaurant was empty. It USED to be the place to go. Another couple came in and were rudely told they were closing soon. They were obviously rushed through their dinner. The artichoke dip was very small as well and very average. Probably frozen and reheated. The salads small, the corn side dry. If your used to Silver Saddle, you will be disappointed. Very expensive for what you get. Everything seemed half assed. Not worth the money anymore. read more

This place has probably seen better days! The food was equivalent to a public school lunch on a special day. The quality did not match the prices at all! The cocktails didn't use marichino's but cheap ice cream Sunday cherrys. The steak wasn't seasoned and was comparable to a Walmart steak. The kids Mac and cheese was definitely from an east Mac box. The shining glory of this place was the French fries. Oddly enough, they were most certainly from Costco or Sam's. The bread rolls were cold and had the feel of a sacked roll from Safeway and room temp butter. I know a lot of places have been hit hard by the pandemic but come on! $65 for a Costco dinner for two? Slim down your tables and up your quality and merit the high prices. I will not go back til there quality matches the price tag. read more

First time to el Corral. Let me start with this place is a lot bigger inside than I thought from looking at the outside. Inside they had many large rooms with the feeling you were in a house. They cook with mesquite wood floors are stone. It was very causal which I was happy about because I didn't feel like dressing up. The service was so great! Our waitress hustled her behind non stop. Always had a smile on her face. She truly made this review 4 stars. My husband ordered Prime rib. He said it was ok. He said it could have been seasoned more and more rare. I ordered the chicken breast stuffed with cheese and chilis. I asked for light cheese. Boy am I glad I did that because there was a lot of cheese when it came. I took the chicken out of the cheese and got the chili's out of the cheese. Once I did that it was pretty good . I think it also was cooked a tad longer than it should be but because of the grill and seasoning and chilis it was good. I also got the Tamale pie as the side. It wasn't very warm. But had a good flavor to me. It tasted like corn casserole. The salad that was served was a generous portion and fresh. And rolls came with the dinner. So overall a lot of food and great service all set in a traditional Tucson setting 5 stars for that. Minus 1 star for the food read more

Not a good experience. I used to go to El Corral many years ago with my grandparents. My husband and I thought we would take our kids out for a fun evening across the city (we live in Vail). We had a reservation, but that didn't work out. My husband called in the afternoon to confirm, and they had no record of the reservation. We got to the restaurant and had to wait almost 30 minutes for a smashed together group of tables against a wall with the extra chairs and high chairs for the room. The sangria was 7up with a splash of wine, my filet mignon was dry and chewy (how? Why?). My daughters had the stroganoff and the meat was tough. Our server, Gabe, was really nice and attentive once he came over, but everything else about the visit was not worth the time, energy or money. Very disappointing. read more
