    Food wasn't good at all

I really gave a good score considering everything but our waiter Kevin was really nice and the overall ambiance is pretty. The place has so much potential but it really lacked a lot. The food was not good, our fries were literally cold inside. How do u mess up fries? The food was really lackluster and bland. We got the empanadas drowned in some weird sauce and still tasted bland. The bao buns were also cold and lacked any flavor whatsoever. The drinks were verrrrryyy weak and one even tasted like pure cough drop medicine, shout out to the lychee drink.... do not get it. We ended up just ordering shots of alcohol bc u can't mess that up right? The bartender looked like he was barely 21 so he prolly didn't know what he was doing. Sad bc we went for a girls night/bday and just expected more. Won't be coming back

Such a fun spot! Great music, good vibes, and super friendly service. The drinks came out fast and were really good. We ordered the empanadas, fresh shrimp ceviche, and truffle parmesan fries. The empanadas had a nice spicy kick (which I loved). As for the drinks we ordered La Peligrosa, Dancing Bear and an Espresso Martini, Everything was delicious. We sat at the bar since the tables were full and Brandon took great care of us, he was very attentive and welcoming. We also got to meet the owners, which made the experience even better. It's a small, family-owned, women-owned business, and you can really feel the care they put into the place. ALSO, they carry additive-free tequilas! Which is great if you don't want a hangover. Definitely coming back and bringing friends next time.

This is a very cute place. I would definitely go back. The vibes and ambiance are fun. A DJ was setting up as my friend and I were leaving. They said it's a small menu for now since they are newer but planning to expand soon. Food and drinks were good. Had to wait a while to be seated even though we had reservations and it wasn't that crowded, felt like we had been forgotten about but still a good experience.

We came here to celebrate my mom's birthday and overall had a really nice experience. Before going, we used their online inquiry to ask about reservations since they don't have a phone number listed. They actually put us down, which we appreciated, but when we arrived on a Wednesday night we still had to wait about 30 minutes to be seated. The lack of a phone number made communication a little tricky, so that's something to keep in mind. The restaurant itself is super cute. Very elegant and clean. The lighting is perfect and gives a nice ambiance, especially for a celebration. Just a heads up: the windows are open, so it does get a bit chilly. Our server was friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. Prices felt fair-we spent about $300 for 6 people. At our table we ordered the steak, shrimp ceviche, ahi tuna, empanadas, chicken skewer, and shrimp pasta, and everything was solid. I would love to see the menu expand a bit, adding something like a three taco combo with rice and beans or an enchiladas plate would be great, especially since there were only about three entrée options. They also had a DJ playing, good music, which added a fun vibe without being overwhelming. The restrooms were clean, which is always a plus. For my mom's birthday, they brought out ice cream with a firework candle, which was such a cute touch. The restaurant is officially Mexican mom approved lol. Overall, we'd come back again. It would be nice to see the menu expand or get some updates, but we're definitely looking forward to the next visit. Happy birthday, Mom

Great rooftop spot! The food was excellent, especially the steak skewers and empanadas -- both were seriously delicious. Service was friendly and quick, and the atmosphere up on the rooftop makes it a great place to hang out. Definitely recommend checking it out. Great rooftop spot! If you're looking for the perfect rooftop vibe, El Balcón is it. From the moment you walk in, the ambiance is classy, intimate, and beautifully designed. The aesthetic is stunning -- from the glowing logo wall to the artistic murals -- it's definitely a whole vibe. The food was absolutely delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly and paired so well with the sides, and everything was plated beautifully. The fresh salad and appetizers were full of flavor and clearly made with quality ingredients. You can tell they take pride in their presentation and taste. The cocktails were just as impressive -- perfectly balanced and crafted with care. Everything from the drinks to the atmosphere made it feel like a special night out. Great service, great energy, amazing food. I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend it for date night, girls' night, or any special occasion!

Nice place, good service, with tasty food and drinks. Minus 2 stars however because my $150 dollar tomahawk came well done, instead of medium rare as requested. I guess my expectation of a $150 dollar steak, is that it would come out perfect. I'll try something else next time.

Food is excellent and Kevin our waiter provided outstanding service. Our second time there and we requested for Kevin's area. The vibe and energy suited the place, definitely a place to go unwine with friends. The ahi tuna stacks is a must have if you visit the place, our ultimate favorite dish.

Love the atmosphere and vibes! Such a nice rooftop restaurant/ bar. Will definitely come back. Service was awesome too! And plus a live saxophone player

I love this place! It's so cute! Saw a mean comment about the size of the restaurant & honestly it's what I love about it, small and intimate! Every single person working was super nice. My husband and I went on a really busy night but they stayed on top of it. We haven't tried everything on their menu but what we did have was excellent! Definitely recommend this place cute night idea

One of the coolest things about a speakeasy is the transition into the space. Here, there's a walkway and corner, then turn into the candle and subtle lit space. It's a small thing? But that bit of walk helps distance the mind and feel open to the special space. There is a bar with seating, a long high top, and bench & table booth-ish type seating. The colors are warm, reminiscent of sitting in a western sunset. Music plays - jazzy, alternative, happy music. We were greeted and seated by the friendly hostess, then welcomed warmly by the magic maker himself: the bartender! And what delightfully unique, and dare I say daring, concoctions he made! The cocktails each had a spin, an ingredient, something *different* from the norm, making it challenging for my friend and I to narrow down which delights to try! Even the popcorn was unique, with chili and nutritional yeast savoriness that was the perfect complement to our cocktails. My friend felt the Silver Cloud was quite the adult version of a smoothie dessert! She got ideas...I adored my Last Word. It was refreshing with the green chartreuse and incredibly not-put-down-able. Next up, she had the Bandolier. It was a very unique taste to her, pretty puckery, so the bartender - who checked on us regularly for impressions - added a bit more pineapple. That did the trick! My next was the Boulevardier, which was uniquely and deliciously twisted with the coffee and salt. Absolute yum!!! Even though there's a 90 minute limit, on this Thursday night there was plenty of space between imbibers, and we weren't pressured in any way to move along. Thank you, as we were due for a proper catch up. One thing we did notice, is that once there were more folks chatting and laughing, it became a bit echo-y and harder to hear. On a busier night, I imagine the ambience we first experienced- quieter, mellow, chill vibe - likely changes to more robust and lively. Either way, this place is a feels-far-away retreat worth "traveling" to.

We started with bread service which includes a few different styles of bread along with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. For my entree I went with the clam linguine. It comes with chopped clams, garlic in a white wine sauce and also has a few whole clams in shell. It was so good. It was very "seafoody" which was just what I was craving. I also got to taste the carbonara, which was also very tasty. It had plenty of pancetta and the sauce was rich. Overall a good experience.

This service--or lack there of--is where the experience fell short. While the staff was friendly, they were clearly overwhelmed by the Friday night crowd. The salad never arrived, we waited 30 minutes for water, and we had to hunt down our pizza after 45 minutes because it was never delivered to the table. Additionally, the beer list was IPA-heavy with few other options. The owner seemed genuinely nice and was walking the floor checking on guests. I hope people provide honest feedback so they can iterate to success. It's a good spot with good pizza--they just need to dial in the logistics to match the quality of the kitchen.

Walking through the 80s bar it gives off very clubby and busy vibes so it was hard to imagine a speakeasy at the end of it. I was actually shocked upon entrance and really impressed with the detail and ambiance. It is a small space and keep in mind you may share a table with another group if necessary. The drinks were actually phenomenal. On the pricier end of $22 and up but we're so good. I loved the horror theme play on the cocktail names! The candy man was delicious and my favorite. There is a 2 drink minimum purchase (per guest) and each drink is $20+ so it can add up. I'm more of a beer person but some of the drinks were delicious. There was one that tasted like Christmas morning (cinnamon, clove, milky) and another drink that had popping boba that was also fun. If you're a butterfinger or peanut butter fan, there was one drink that tasted like it (you'll see it on the drink menu). I wouldn't say the drinks were strong. They do a good job of enforcing the theme. They had a "Yeti" come out and interact with the tables. Good for photo ops. They also had a magician doing a few tricks, and I enjoyed that the most. The place was kept fairly chilly! Even the bathrooms had jokes and signage on the walls that alluded to the alps. Overall a great time. Small venue but pretty chill. Can be pricey. Take a sweater.
