My wife and I rarely get a chance to have a night out. We care for her parents full time, including her mom who has Stage 4 dementia, so evenings together are few and far between. Last night we were finally able to get away after getting her mom settled for the night, and I'm really glad we decided to check out El Balcon. From the moment we walked in, we knew this place was something special. The owners were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and took the time to sit and talk with us. They didn't make us feel like customers. They made us feel like friends. That meant a lot to us, and by the end of the night it honestly felt like we had known them for much longer than just a few hours. The rooftop is beautiful. The décor is classy without trying too hard, and the atmosphere is exactly what downtown Ontario has been missing. Then there's the music. The DJ absolutely crushed it. Every song fit the vibe, the energy was great all night, and I have to give him credit for those awesome glasses too! The food was outstanding. I ordered the oysters and they were fresh and absolutely delicious. They were on the smaller side, but they tasted so good that I finished my first order and immediately ordered six more. My wife ordered the pork bao buns and they were incredible. The pork was tender, packed with flavor, and they disappeared fast. I barely had a chance to steal a bite. I also have to give a huge shout out to Noah behind the bar. He isn't just a bartender. He's a true mixologist. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and made some fantastic drinks. You can tell he really enjoys what he does. Before we left, the owners told us they're starting Sunday brunch on July 19, 2026, with bottomless mimosas and micheladas. We are definitely going to try to get a table because this is one place we'll be coming back to. If you're looking for a great rooftop spot in downtown Ontario, right off Euclid and B Street, do yourself a favor and check out El Balcon. Great owners. Great staff. Great food. Great drinks. Great atmosphere. Oh... and did I mention the DJ? Seriously, he was awesome. Ontario needed a place like this, and I really hope the community gets behind it because it's worth supporting. Maybe we'll even get an invite to brunch someday.

Had the opportunity to celebrate my birthday at El Balcon in Ontario and the food was amazing. The day we went was Cinco de Mayo, so the restaurant was mainly serving appetizer-style plates and tapas, but honestly it made it perfect for sharing different items with the table. Everything we had was very flavorful and well presented. They did such an incredible job with the aesthetic, design, and overall ambiance of this location. The space feels upscale, well thought out, and beautifully done. As the night went on, they brought in a DJ which completely elevated the atmosphere. The bar is beautiful and the drinks coming out looked phenomenal. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you're looking for a great vibe, good food, and a beautiful new spot in th

Friday night reservation for 7:15. Our table was ready before that which was amazing. Decor is beautifully done and I love that it fully opens out to the park below. I wish I could remember our server's name, but he was excellent. We were right next to the DJ that was playing vinyls which was a great touch. Everything on the menu looked delicious. Our favorite of the night was the shrimp over mashed potatoes. We also really liked the empanadas. I ordered a drink with the name Fiona in it and had a lot of different floral flavors, which was delicious. Presentation was definitely a 10 out of 10. My friends and I are excited to bring our husbands back. I highly recommend checking it out.

great spot for a girls' night out! live dj is fun but music is very loud so it's hard to have conversations everything was delectable! my personal favs were the pasta, flatbread, and spinach dip. the chicken from the pasta was SOOOO good, not dry at all. fries were kinda lacking, hardly tasted the truffle or parmesan. my two drinks were yummy. three graces and la peligrosa are good options if you like sweeter drinks

This spot is perfect for a fun date night! The live DJ kept the energy up all evening, creating a lively atmosphere that made the experience even better. The mojito was excellent--refreshing, crisp, and perfectly balanced with fresh mint and lime. It was one of the best parts of the meal. The shrimp dish was incredibly fresh and packed with flavor. Every bite was seasoned just right and cooked perfectly. Between the delicious food, great drinks, upbeat music, and vibrant ambiance, it's a place I'd definitely come back to. If you're looking for a lively night out with great vibes, this is it!

Cute spot . Not really a rooftop restaurant but we appreciated the enclosed building and air conditioning . The food was ok . We ordered the margarita pizza, the truffle fries , the empanadas , and my friend had the steak . The steak was the best item as the rest were just ok. The table for four was incredibly small ( all tables are small here and the space is incredibly packed ) our dishes could not fit ( please remove the large candles o. The table as they take away from any adequate dining space ) I love when restaurants get it right but unfortunately the service was incredibly slow . From the drinks to receiving food 20 min for our drinks and almost an hour for our food . They warn you about the two hour limit but unfortunately it took us almost that much time to be served . Please rethink some of the designs/ table seating with groups of four that have reservations . I am so sorry to have been disappointed by this place .

    Waiting area

It was the first time for the entire group. We reserved here for a birthday celebration. The ambiance was nice. It was a hot day so when we arrived all window were closed but they opened the windows in the evening (nice conceptually however it felt like the dryer door opened allowing in gusts of hot air) The food was pretty delicious EXCEPT for the birthday girls dinner (fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp) I was so sad that of people she had to have that experience. The Fettuccine was extremely dry, not creamy and it was plain. No flavor whatsoever. Definitely something that could be easily improved. Overall, I definitely recommend this restaurant for a date night, business lunch, or celebration. I'll be back and considering booking future celebrations. Side note: there needs to be a better system in place for splitting the check, that was a hot mess!

Food was really good. The ambience is really good. They have a DJ so it's pretty fun to keep it lively entertainment. The tables are really tight next to each other. They might as well make one long family style all the way around the service is good. They're trying their best to navigate around the tight tables with their food is really good. It's located in a great area downstairs there's a speakeasy that's super fun. Also not sure if it's the same owner but a great overall experience must try by the way I had their steak with chimichurri.

I really gave a good score considering everything but our waiter Kevin was really nice and the overall ambiance is pretty. The place has so much potential but it really lacked a lot. The food was not good, our fries were literally cold inside. How do u mess up fries? The food was really lackluster and bland. We got the empanadas drowned in some weird sauce and still tasted bland. The bao buns were also cold and lacked any flavor whatsoever. The drinks were verrrrryyy weak and one even tasted like pure cough drop medicine, shout out to the lychee drink.... do not get it. We ended up just ordering shots of alcohol bc u can't mess that up right? The bartender looked like he was barely 21 so he prolly didn't know what he was doing. Sad bc we went for a girls night/bday and just expected more. Won't be coming back

Thought I'd update my review since I think I'm a regular now! The entertainment is always great, and that's a big reason I keep coming back. The staff are super friendly, welcoming, and always make you feel appreciated. Good food and drinks! It's not too far from home, which makes it an easy choice when I'm looking for a fun night out. I will say it's even nicer when it's not quite as packed, but I've always had a good experience. The atmosphere is fun, the people are friendly, and it's become one of my favorite spots.

Great place for a date night. Music was cool, cool ambiance, and very good food. Drinks were on point.

Food and drinks were amazing tonight. Service was excellent, ask for Kevin if you're ever there...he was great. Sandra the owner was amazing, always making sure all her guests were taken care off and she was working the room. Always good vibes and fun.

Such a fun spot! Great music, good vibes, and super friendly service. The drinks came out fast and were really good. We ordered the empanadas, fresh shrimp ceviche, and truffle parmesan fries. The empanadas had a nice spicy kick (which I loved). As for the drinks we ordered La Peligrosa, Dancing Bear and an Espresso Martini, Everything was delicious. We sat at the bar since the tables were full and Brandon took great care of us, he was very attentive and welcoming. We also got to meet the owners, which made the experience even better. It's a small, family-owned, women-owned business, and you can really feel the care they put into the place. ALSO, they carry additive-free tequilas! Which is great if you don't want a hangover. Definitely coming back and bringing friends next time.

It was definitely more of a lively atmosphere, so conversation was a bit difficult at times due to the volume, but we still had a wonderful time enjoying the drinks and music. They dont allow any food to be brought in which is crazy because you are in a food hall. So plan accordingly. They do serve unlimited amounts of their popcorn which tasted pretty good. They have some heat to them!! This is like an Arizona or Mew Mexo themed type speakeasy. I love their decor. With the fireplace and the animal skulls and animal skins everywhere. I just love how it looked. Theres an exit to the outside patio area which is nice, since this place stays open longer than most of the shops in Haven City. Only problem is if theyre playing music outside, every time the door opens it is so loud!! Like annoyingly blow my ear drums loud. Their drinks are very southwest themed. They have a lot of drink options to choose from. We ordered their blue sky and silver cloud. Presentation looked pretty. But the drinks were not that great. I had their silver cloud which had a mango foam on top. Tasted great, till you mixed it into the drink. The drink was way to smokey. It was so smokey it was almost bitter. I get a little smoke. But it was way too much. Any notes of mango or fruit or sweetness was lost in the smoke. The blue sky looked pretty. But after having a sip of the silver cloud it killed my taste buds. I couldn't taste anything in the blue sky. After our first round of drinks we were done. Had to go home and make myself an extremely sweet drink to get my taste buds back..... its a great concept. The price point is reasonable. 16 dollars for each drink. I do love the decor. But the vibes from the outside is distracting. If your into mezcals and smokey drinks this place is for you. But it unfortunately was not my cup of tea.

The drinks were actually phenomenal. On the pricier end of $22 and up but we're so good. I loved the horror theme play on the cocktail names! The candy man was delicious and my favorite. The Lester drink came in a light bulb with an edible flower and that was definitely an experience! My hubby loved the Samara which was a delicious espresso. I wish I could have tried more cocktails but our timed seating was up (90minutes). Overall, I was a bit worried with all the poor reviews but we had a good time and definitely got you into the spooky season spirit! The staff was also very kind. I do wish they had more horror actors but still a good time. Tip: parking ample and free All ordering is done on your phone so if you have Apple Pay it makes it so much quicker to close out the tab when ordering.
