One of my favorite spots in Ontario! I absolutely love coming to El Balcón Rooftop! The drinks are amazing, and the bartenders are always so quick and attentive. They make my drinks exactly how I like them--not too sweet and not too bitter. The appetizers are so good! The artichoke dip is my absolute favorite and definitely a must-try! The atmosphere is also one of the main reasons I keep coming back. I've been here both during the day and at night, and I love the vibe at both times. During the day, it's so bright and beautiful, and I love feeling like I'm outdoors. Even when it's extremely hot and the windows are closed, the space still feels so open, airy, and bright, which I really love. The view is beautiful and the DJ is always on point, which makes the whole experience even better. I also love that this is a place where I can dress up! This was my second time dining at El Balcon, and I have really mixed feelings about it. The first time I came, I think a lot of my positive experience was influenced by the company I was with and the overall vibe. The rooftop/al fresco concept is great, the DJ played really good music, and it was a fun atmosphere. But coming back a second time reminded me of some of the things I probably overlooked during my first visit. For the IE, the food and drinks are pretty expensive. Cocktails are around $17 each, which adds up quickly, especially when most places around here are closer to $14. The drinks are balanced and taste good, but they are not very strong, so for the price I expected a little more. We also had the same server both times, and unfortunately his knowledge of gluten-free options was disappointing. The happy hour menu has very few gluten-free choices, so if you have a gluten allergy or sensitivity, you are pretty much pushed into ordering from the full-price menu. I ordered the tuna stack for $22, and there was very little tuna. It was mostly jamaica and cucumber, so it did not feel worth the price. Service was also very slow. My friend ordered the ceviche and it never came. When we finally asked about it, our server said the kitchen must have given it to another table, but it honestly felt more like the order was forgotten. Even getting water refills took a long time. I'm conflicted because I really want to support this restaurant, especially knowing it is owned by two women. I also really like the vibe, the rooftop setting, and the whole concept. There is so much potential here. But for the prices they are charging, the service, food execution, portions, and overall experience need to be more consistent. read more

I finally got a chance to check this place out! I've been wanting to come here for the past few months, but I live almost an hour away and hadn't had the opportunity. I love that it's a latina owned lounge! I decided to bring my friend for her birthday and we came on a Wednesday when there was a concert at the park next door. There seems to be plenty of parking on a normal day, but because of the event we ended up parking at the free parking structure across the way. Once we made it upstairs, we can see the big open windows and the beautiful aesthetic. We did not have a reservation, but it wasn't super busy yet. So we sat at the lovely bar and ordered our first round of drinks off of the Happy Hour Menu. There were four of us, so three of us ordered Palomas and one ordered a Margarita. They were definitely good and strong. We couldn't really hear each other talk once the music outside started though, so we asked if we could be seated at a table and order food from there instead. They accommodated us pretty quickly, but the table we sat at was quite small for us four ordering food. We ordered our food, but I have a friend with peanut allergies and we had questions in regards to some of the sauces. The waiter never got back to us, so my friend decided not to try the items in question and that's the biggest reason I'm giving them four stars. My wife and I rarely get a chance to have a night out. We care for her parents full time, including her mom who has Stage 4 dementia, so evenings together are few and far between. Last night we were finally able to get away after getting her mom settled for the night, and I'm really glad we decided to check out El Balcon. From the moment we walked in, we knew this place was something special. The owners were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and took the time to sit and talk with us. They didn't make us feel like customers. They made us feel like friends. That meant a lot to us, and by the end of the night it honestly felt like we had known them for much longer than just a few hours. The rooftop is beautiful. The décor is classy without trying too hard, and the atmosphere is exactly what downtown Ontario has been missing. Then there's the music. The DJ absolutely crushed it. Every song fit the vibe, the energy was great all night, and I have to give him credit for those awesome glasses too! The food was outstanding. I ordered the oysters and they were fresh and absolutely delicious. They were on the smaller side, but they tasted so good that I finished my first order and immediately ordered six more. My wife ordered the pork bao buns and they were incredible. The pork was tender, packed with flavor, and they disappeared fast. I barely had a chance to steal a bite. I also have to give a huge shout out to Noah behind the bar. He isn't just a bartender. He's a true mixologist. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and made some fantastic drinks. You can tell he really enjoys what he does. Before we left, the owners told us they're starting Sunday brunch on July 19, 2026, with bottomless mimosas and micheladas. We are definitely going to try to get a table because this is one place we'll be coming back to. If you're looking for a great rooftop spot in downtown Ontario, right off Euclid and B Street, do yourself a favor and check out El Balcon. Great owners. Great staff. Great food. Great drinks. Had the opportunity to celebrate my birthday at El Balcon in Ontario and the food was amazing. The day we went was Cinco de Mayo, so the restaurant was mainly serving appetizer-style plates and tapas, but honestly it made it perfect for sharing different items with the table. Everything we had was very flavorful and well presented. They did such an incredible job with the aesthetic, design, and overall ambiance of this location. Friday night reservation for 7:15. Our table was ready before that which was amazing. Decor is beautifully done and I love that it fully opens out to the park below. I wish I could remember our server's name, but he was excellent. We were right next to the DJ that was playing vinyls which was a great touch. Everything on the menu looked delicious. It was the first time for the entire group. We reserved here for a birthday celebration. The ambiance was nice. It was a hot day so when we arrived all window were closed but they opened the windows in the evening (nice conceptually however it felt like the dryer door opened allowing in gusts of hot air) The food was pretty delicious EXCEPT for the birthday girls dinner (fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp) I was so sad that of people she had to have that experience. The Fettuccine was extremely dry, not creamy and it was plain. No flavor whatsoever. Definitely something that could be easily improved. Overall, I definitely recommend this restaurant for a date night, business lunch, or celebration. I'll be back and considering booking future celebrations. Itzel was our waitress. When we arrived, there were only a few tables occupied, so we didn't expect slow or poor service like you might on a busy Saturday night. Unfortunately, that's exactly what we experienced. After we finished our meal, we asked to split the check, and from that point on, the service became noticeably cold. I still paid my bill and left a tip, chalking it up to maybe just a bad night. However, as we were wrapping up, she simply said, "you guys are good," rolled her eyes, and walked away. That really left a bad impression. The food itself was okay, nothing memorable. The ambiance and view are beautiful, but beyond that, the overall experience was disappointing. As a local of Ontario, this place was a TREAT. It's so cool to have the vibe of an LA rooftop without having to drive to LA! We expected to just stop in for a quick drink, but ended up having to stay longer and longer especially after the love dj came out. If you're like most people in the Ontario/Chino/Upland/Rancho area, you are always for the latest and greatest in the restaurant scene to sprout up. That's why, when I heard of El Balcón opening up, I knew I had to try it. And boy, was I surprised. Everything inside El Balcón gave me elevated vibes. From the cocktails to the menu offerings, it felt Ritzy which Is exactly what I wanted on a nice night out. I took my Fiance here for our weekly fancy date and we were pleasingly surprised. We loved how they had a live DJ who made the ambiance so much better! I think his name was DJ Kerfue or DJ Ralphy who's a known DJ in the Inland Empire so it was super cool to enjoy drinks and listen to the music at the same time.
