Asiago toasted bagel wish Shmear...where's the Shmear? I paid extra for Double Shmear. What a joke!

I love Einstein but my order today was highly disappointing. Regret wasting my money ‍ Won't be back. Ordered 2 toasted bagels w/ shmear. Both bagels came as the one pictured! I wish I could give 0 s

Where is the Beef? On this Texas Brisket Bagel and the Jalapeño Bagel it comes on? Awful

Today's lunch consisted of a Texas Brisket Bagel and a Large Blackberry Lemonade. Well, I have ordered this brisket bagel before and was actually looking forward to eating. When it arrived it was a different story. I thought someone had handed me the wrong sandwich because to me it looked like a sausage and egg. When I dissected the sand which what I found on the inside would have shocked you, There was barely any brisket , it was dry, tasteless, the cheese seem like it had been nuked to death. The Jalapeño Cheese Bagel was no where to be found, I don't know what subpar bagel they served this barely there brisket on. I started to call the store with my valid concerns because at this point I felt there wasn't any care put into this sandwich , in fact I was made some substitute make it look good and take this kinda sandwich. I started to call up there because it was a Door Dash order and I cant leave my job for lunch. Funny, I didn't have the fight in me today . On a positive note the blackberry lemonade was delicious and refreshing. Do better Einstein Bros.

Hmmm. No Einsteins downriver so this place was it. 20 minutes later i get my 13 bagels and 2 shmears. I'm used to my regular place on Mack in Grosse Pointe Woods, just 5 minutes away from my previous house (sold it).. So here is a pic of the bagels. Doesn't look like a bagel! But tasted the way a bagel should. Thankfully no surprises. But no hole in the bagels! They're supposed to have holes. What is a donut without a hole? And bagel? Who does that? Cognitive dissonance on a grand scale. Is a hole too much to ask? I don't know how much more i can take. I need order in my life. Errrggghhh. Oh well. The discount from the bagel club makes it all good. I'm fine now. Oh, one other thing. I called in my order for simplicity's sake. I get there and nobody knows anything about it. Upside, my bagels are soon in the box. Other reviews mention same. Hmmmm.

I love Einstein Bagels. I think it's written into my genetic code that I must have at least one Einstein bagel a week to thrive. I come here all the time (as evidenced by my check-ins) and usually get great service. Sometimes it's shoddy but they recently hired a lot of new workers, so I've given them some slack to get everyone up to speed. Einstein's bagels are great! They have a couple dozen to choose from. My favorites are Asiago cheese, honey whole wheat and potato. Jacob goes for pumpernickel or six cheese. If you've never been, it can be expensive, especially if you're used to cheap shitty bagels at other places. You pay more but you're getting a much better product. They use premium whipped cream cheeses (in all different levels of fat; their strawberry is my favorite and it's 25% reduced) and also offer peanut butter, hummus, butter and preserves as spreads as well. If you like saving money, join their e-club. I usually get 2-3 coupons a month with good expiration dates for free bagel+cream cheese when you buy a drink, BOGO lunch sandwiches, free drink with bagel purchase and 25% off your entire purchase (including bagged coffee, if that's your thing). They have ample seats, are definitely kid-friendly and offer tons of menu items to please all sorts of people. If you're vegetarian, the Veg-Out sandwich is a great sandwich my friends always order. They even have pizza bagels. I hardly order them because they're kind of expensive, but I can say they're really delicious and filling. Einstein's also have a pretty extensive coffee drink menu. Jacob loves their specialty coffee like Autumn Roast and Winter Blend, which unfortunately are limited to a couple months a year. He also enjoys Neighborhood Blend, their take on "regular coffee". But Einstein's doesn't do anything "regular", they're all about upping the ante when it comes to premium bagels and coffee.

My fave

Great bagels, great cream cheese (shmear) options, great coffee. Consistency is what brings it down two stars. I'm a huge fan of their asiago, potato, and pumpernickel bagels. As for shmear, I tend to stick with garden veggie or onion and chive. Their coffee is great, and you can get a little discount if you bring your own mug to refill, which is nice. Consistency seems to be their downfall, though. Sometimes the bagels are soft and delightfully doughy. But often times they're made from old dough and are hard, dense, too small, etc. Pro Tip: if the bagel has bubbles all over it, it's old dough; avoid. Bagel selection is hit or miss too. Ok, I understand that you can't always predict how many people will come in, and you don't want to be stuck with two hundred bagels at the end of the day. But we really only go on weekends around 10am, and very often they'll be out of half their bagel flavors. If you're out of bagels by 930 every day, then just plan to make more bagels! Lastly, service and bagel preparation can go either way. I've had expertly toasted and shmeared bagels from a smiling face one week, followed by a bagel the next week (prepared by the same person, cold and moody) to come out with what seemed to be the amount of cream cheese that was left on the knife from the last bagel they made, and "toasted" so quickly it didn't even get a chance to warm up. I far prefer them to Panera's bagels, which is why we gamble and come here every so often. And to be fair, the bagels are still half decent even on the worst days. But three stars is all I can stretch to give them.

The service was great, they answered all the questions we had about the menu. The food was absolutely phenomenal! And the coffee was great. Super flavorful without being overly sweet. The food is thoughtful and complex, and unfortunately, that's just not for me. I can see why people enjoy it so much, though. Service was okay. Basically a teen at the register playing on her phone and a cook in the back. I wasn't really offered much of a greeting or an intro to the menu. It's a very limited menu as far as sandwiches are concerned (only six options.) I ordered The Superior minus kimchi with the spicy mayo on the side. I don't believe the menu mentions it, but the sandwich did come with a handful of fries. I took a seat in their cute dining area. It's decorated very nicely. It was a little chilly, though. I noticed a couple tables with trash on them that sat that way during my entire visit (all the while the cashier was on her phone.) Definitely room for improvement there. My sandwich was good; a little sweet for my liking. What I disliked was that there were tiny onions grilled with the steak, and those onions are not on the menu. I'd already wasted my lunch hour finding this spot, figuring out what to order and waiting for my food so I didn't bother saying anything or asking for a re-do. I just ate a few pieces of the steak and packed the rest up for my husband to have as leftovers. The quality of the steak was great and the fries were excellent. So, if you are all about limited menus and lots of ingredients, this might be the spot for you. It wasn't for me.

Service was prompt and friendly. It's tight inside, this is not the place to come with a big group- but a few friends or your family? Absolutely! Perfect. 4 stars because I just feel like the Reuben could have used a bit more flavor somehow. It was a little dry today. The bread was good, the meat was lean and thinly sliced, but I think we needed more punch from the sauerkraut and dressing. Still, will come back many times for years to come! Their sandwiches are crazy-expensive, especially for the quality of the turkey. It was the slimy, smooth kind, not the more dry, you-can-see-the-grain-and-taste-the-quality kind. I got turkey and cheddar and it was $15, plus adding a drink and chips was $3 more. Hubband got the turkey and ham sandwich and said the ham was excellent but had the same gripe about the low quality turkey as me. Are they big, yes? Would I rather have less meat but it be much higher quality for the same price? Also yes. Decor hasn't changed in the almost 15 years since I visited. It's clean enough but still incredibly over-crowded with too many tables and chairs. Service was friendly. Honestly, this is just so underwhelming that I'm incredibly surprised that people are excited to drop $15 on a mediocre sandwich. I'm missing something (it must be nostalgia because I didn't grow up here.)

There's a small lot but you can park right there. It's right off of Michigan Ave so you really can't miss it but it is very small so you may not know what you're looking for. Just keep an eye out for it. They do have plenty of seats but it's not a full sit-down situation so I don't make it seem like you can bring a table of 20 in . They do have seats to sit in. There are countertops you can stand at but this is more likely a quick bite or to-go kind of situation. Even though there are people who do come in for the lunch break. But it's just basically tables and it's not a lot of frills or bells and whistles but it's still enough to have a bite to eat. The customer service is super nice and I was very taken care of and everybody was super friendly. As far as that goes that is something that has no issue . I ordered and it came pretty fast within 10 minutes so that was good. The service is quick but when I went it wasn't overly packed so that probably helped. Still it was good service and swift service as well . NY club - it was actually really good. It was very large and it got me right for lunch time for quite some time. It was put together very well and it didn't fall apart as soon as I picked it up. Turkey was warm and the sandwich was put together really well and the bacon made it pop . Cajun fries - the fries were crinkle cut and they came cajun seasoned to perfection . Would I go back? I sure would. Good customer service, solid product. Next time I go I'll probably end up getting a corned beef like I wanted to in the first place... There are plenty of options own and not just a sandwich shop... it may not be Coney Island type variety but it does have plenty of variety !
