Not a Turkey sub like I asked

I asked for a Turkey sub I got something else. I advised I can't come eat this sub and now I'm out $8.60 for a sub I can't eat. No attempt to rectify the situation. Plus the shop is noisy unable to understand or hear the manager correctly. No lunch for me today. Manager is rude and extremely confrontational. Does not take responsibility for their action. Thank you Gonella for ruining my Friday.

I typically get something from the salad bar at work for lunch: lettuce, cherry tomatoes, a few black olives, and grilled chicken cubes. However, I was picking up my car from the dealership and realized that the deli was less than 2 miles from work. What luck! A few quick turns and I was pulling into one of the parking spots out front. The deli is small, with a small refrigerated case displaying a few sides. Two lovely people were managing the lines. One, who was assembling the subs and the other who rang up the orders. The menu is quite simple. You need to decide on the number of deli slices and cheeses, as well as the bread type. For example, if you want 5 meats and 1 cheese, it would be a 5x1. I had a 6x2 on a hard roll. The end result was quite good. The roll was fresh and crusty, loaded with deli meats and cheese, lettuce and thinly-sliced tomatoes, no onions, and Italian dressing. It was so good (for the soul) and definitely better tasting than my usual salad. Service was exceptionally quick. By the time I was done placing my order, the sandwich was in front of me, ready to go.

Went in today and ordered a couple hard roll 6&2s, but after we got home, we noticed they mistakenly made 5&1s, which were tasty, but definitely not as good. Too much bread, not enough filling. We asked about the different refrigerated salads and they said the pasta and mustard-potato were both homemade. We went with the $2 mustard potato and found it tasted far too sweet. I wouldn't order it again. They said the red skin potato was most popular.

I can't believe the place is still here after all of these years. The Italian Subs at Gonella's are ordered according to how many layers it builds up (which I think is a unique concept). Soft sub buns, tons of stacks of meat, lettuce and tomato or not. No one goes hungry after a sub here. Some deli spots tend to skimp on the protein, but not this place. My team members favorite is the Italian, 6 stacks. I usually will go for a turkey or chicken stack. They offer up to 18 stacks, haven't tried that yet.

Hubband got the turkey and ham sandwich and said the ham was excellent but had the same gripe about the low quality turkey as me. Are they big, yes? Would I rather have less meat but it be much higher quality for the same price? Also yes. Decor hasn't changed in the almost 15 years since I visited. It's clean enough but still incredibly over-crowded with too many tables and chairs. Service was friendly. Honestly, this is just so underwhelming that I'm incredibly surprised that people are excited to drop $15 on a mediocre sandwich. Grabbed some lunch for my team: Chicken bacon ranch no lettuce or tomato, a large Lebanese salad (no pita), Turkey Reuben sandwich, Chicken melt, Bronx and a can of Mountain Dew and one can of Coke. Oh my. Their Chicken melt menu that someone posted on here changed from what someone else had posted a while back. Their current chicken melt is essentially a chicken Philly. It wasn't what my team member wanted, had to give it to someone else, since it had mushrooms in it. The Lebanese salad was good, the large is a good size. Loaded with tomatoes and cukes. Ended up with bits of pita at the bottom of my salad, had to pick them out. :/ The chicken bacon ranch was nicely packed with meat in a sub bun. The Bronx was good as well. The turkey Rueben was okay. Light on the kraut and sauce. The turkey meat was deli slices though. The bread was maybe separately toasted. It was pan or cook top cooked. The rye was a bit too hard as I tried to get a bite in. I ended up having to gut it and eat the inside goods separately. Oven roasted turkey would have been fantastic, more kraut or add slaw too.
