Korean BBQ Glazed Salmon
Munzer R.

Mint 29 is a nice upscale restaurant that can get pretty busy, so I would recommend reservations. They have street parking or lots behind the restaurant. I came with my family for my 29th birthday and enjoyed everything, they had good portion sizes, so I thought the value was definitely there. I ordered the soup of the day to start, as I was a bit under the weather, and it definitely hit the spot. For other starters, we got the assorted bread and dips, brussel sprouts, and burrata, where I think the burrata was my winner. I got the KBBQ salmon as my entree, which I thought had great flavor. Would recommend for a nice dinner out!

Love the design and layout at Mint 29, chill spot in downtown Dearborn. The food presentation was great and the food overall was pretty good. The Crispy Calamari and Ceviche were ok and the best dish I had was the Korean BBQ Glazed Salmon which was tasty.

Mint 29 was great. It was well lit and deforested nicely. The appetizers were amazing! The burrata, shrimp and tenderloins tips is what we got. The burrata took the apps for me as it was all so fresh with the tomatoes and bread. I also liked the blackberry mojito! The lamb chops were good nicely. Only one lamb chop was over cooked but the other 3 were cooked to the perfection. The service was good and they gave great options.

Have been really looking forward to eating here. It is nicely decorated and perfect ambiance for work dinner, family dinner, a date or for a celebration. The service was excellent as well, with server checking on us regularly and walking us through the menu. The food is why I gave it only 3 stars, although nicely decorated but overall lacking in flavour. The steak I can make better at home and I don't usually cook. I am unlikely to go back. Per them it's halal.

We went for my husband's 50th birthday, on a Monday and still glad we had reservations. Eventually, it filled up pretty full. The staff was very attentive and helpful with any questions. We both ordered a steak, a New York strip, and a ribeye, which cooked perfectly. I ordered only two sides to split and both were very good.

The vibes are great but this spot is packed! Try to make a reservation ahead of time! Or grab a seat at the bar! There's also outside dining available. Plenty of parking. Wonderful staff that specialize in details of each item on the menu! Definitely a cute spot to hit up!

Went to Mint 29 with my son after a longggg tiring week, and Mint 29 did NOT disappoint!! The ambience is GREAT, good mix of people, with GREAT food and great conversation!! We sat at the bar which made it easy to get served quickly, We were immediately greeted by the bar tender Nina, whom was very personable, made GREAT suggestions, made GREAT drinks and kept us looked after! We had a constant flow of water then had drinks. We both had Sangria (really good) also had the Cucumber Mango Margarita ( very good) my son had a very smoky bourbon (very tasty) n I don't like bourbon!! We had the Dissembled Salad (with beets, tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, sheep feta , feta vinaigrette all in Artisan Greens) and Crispy Calamari (OMG Good) with a Sweet Chili Sauce!! Mint29 NEVER disappoints!! Will definitely be back

Best soup ever!

We just stayed in the area overnight as we were continuing on to the upper peninsula. The at the hotel recommended this place. Wow, what recommendation! The food was amazing. We had the soup of the day, which was an exotic mushroom soup. I have to say i've had somebody good soup in my time, but it's hands-down the best soup I've ever had. We had the chicken in the beef tips as our main entrée. That was also amazing. The service was really good at the beginning although once they started getting really busy, it took go out to get our waiters attention. But overall, we have no complaints. The place was decorated although we decided to eat outdoors cause the weather was so nice. I had to recommend this place.

This is why I love trying new places! Mint 29 knocks it out of the park with the location, atmosphere, attention to quality service and fantastic food. We tried many starters with the standout being calamari and shrimp cocktail. Unique sauces made both items pop. The steaks were cooked perfectly and we added the exotic mushrooms which were perfect. The experience continued with the dessert, the table agreed that Mint 29 is a must visit while in Dearborn.

Salmon - A gourmet dish with a grilled fish fillet topped with a yellow flower, served on a bed of vegetable medley and broccolini on a white plate.

Food was pretty to look at but did not taste as good. The best thing we had in my opinion was the dessert. Chicken dish and Salmon dishes were dry. The ambience was very nice as well. Maybe a different cook, or the current might have had an off night...who knows

As a novice of woodworking, I was blown-away by the intricate woodwork and finishings throughout the home. The three ladies that lead our tour of the home shared many interesting details about the property, its restoration, and details of Clara and Henry's years at the estate. Many of the restoration stories, like finding a tub for Henry's bathroom or how Clara had a section repainted white were intriguing. Even though much of the home, especially the second floor, is still being restored it was a fascinating experience.

There wasn't much actually open amongst the majestic-looking buildings while I was there, but the picnic area was hopping. The signage was bilingual-in English and Arabic-and what appeared to be a Yemeni wedding seemed to be taking place. The juxtaposition of the estate of an industrialist (or robber baron, or visionary, or racist, depending on your point of view) with a distinctive immigrant community makes for a striking reflection on Americana. The grounds include some gardens, and a lake with a path around it. Access to the river is limited, but it didn't look like that impressive of a river. The greenery is more worthwhile.

I also bring out-of-town guests here, sharing the numerous exhibits with pride. American innovation is the focus of this museum, and the number of exhibits clearly demonstrates the cleverness and ingenuity of Americans. Of course, in Michigan, hundreds of vehicles were on display - from stable coaches, to the first Fords (and other nameplates), to the race cars of today. However, innovation was not limited to "things on wheels". Today, I saw the futuristic Dymaxion home designed by Buckminster Fuller. It was conceived for factory production (after WWII) and included modern kitchen appliances such as a dishwasher. What impressed me was how he designed a system to collect and then recycle rainwater for non-potable uses (washing clothes). Other home-related innovations, outside of the Dymaxion home, were home entertainment. There was also a display of chairs - I honestly don't know how they relate to innovation. I was here specifically to see the Da Vinci exhibit, the inventions from his codex, imagined in wood. Some displays (but not all) allowed guests to take a hands-on approach. It is incredible to see not only the diversity of his thinking but also how it has influenced products today. After seeing just a fraction of his thinking, I am inspired to continue reading Walter Isaacson's biography, which I really should have completed before coming here. Another exhibit of note is Mathematica, an interactive math display designed by Charles and Ray Eames (yes, those Eames). I love math, so I loved their explanation of "random walk", probability/ bell curve, and even the multiplication tables. This time, I did not spend that much time on the aircrafts nor the train - I got to save something for my next visit. Based on the throngs of people here today, I am not the only one who enjoys seeing the treasures at this museum.

There's coffee, boba, ice cream, sushi, tacos, burgers, chicken and waffles?! And there's some little shops, at least one, which had jewelry when I went. Overall, if you are meeting with someone to chat, come here. If you're hungry, I assure you'll find something. It's good for a casual date or catch up with friends and family. You can pay cash at the food trucks or you can use an app (scan a QR code) to order using your credit card. You can order through the app for any of the trucks or inside spots. This is a great way try a bunch of different places in one spot, or, have options for everyone in your family who can't agree on where to go for lunch or dinner. I'll review each of the places we tried below (TL;DR), but overall, food was excellent, delivery was quick (except for one truck...more on that below), atmosphere was good, vibe was relaxed and upbeat, very clean inside, and friendly/helpful staff and truck operators all around. Some prices were a bit high, but we didn't feel like it was extreme based on the quality of food and the ability to easily try different offerings without having to drive all over. The biggest knock was that even though we were greeted right away by a very friendly 'guide' when we walked in, his explanation of how the concept works was confusing and incomplete. We ended up having to speak to the folks running the trucks to better understand how to navigate the ordering process, cash vs credit card, and the ability to order everything from all the different trucks on one ticket, not separate tickets for each truck. Our other disappointment was that we went there for lunch (at 12:30p on the weekend) and the biggest indoor spot we wanted to try told us they weren't opening until 2pm so we'd have to come back later (maybe next time). Here's who we ended up trying: Big Red's BBQ Pit: Holy Smokin' Brisket Burnt Ends Batman! Big Red served up the absolute best burnt ends I've ever had from a food truck, and at the top of the list for all time best that I've had. Perfectly charred, crunchy bark while maintaining a juicy, tender, melt-in-your-mouth perfectly smoked inside. The rub and BBQ sauce were spot-on. Everyone in our family agreed that it was the best thing we tried all day. I guess I could have just said: 10/10 no notes. So Cheesy: Came highly recommended by some friends. A delicious sounding menu with some great options. The Steak Tacos were tender, flavorful, and filled to the max. The cilantro aioli and chipotle crema were flavor-bombs that really brought it all together. Fries were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The Phili-Mignon sandwich was very good, but not quite as good as I was hoping to get based on the description and price. It was on the small side, very bread-heavy, short on steak, and the beet horseradish mayo was lacking the 'kick' I was looking for. Again, perfectly cooked & seasoned fries on the side. This was the busiest truck we ordered from, so the wait time was much longer than all the rest, especially since there was only one guy working. However, while talking to the guy at the Parma truck (more below) after he finished our order, he ran over to So Cheesy to give him a hand in the truck and help push out food. IMHO, I thought this showed a great collaboration and willingness to put the customer first. Overall, a good experience with So Cheesy, but I'd skip the Phili-Mignon Sandwich and opt for a burger (heard others there saying how amazing they were) or their tacos on our next visit. Parma: My wife had the Arugula Insalata and couldn't stop raving about it. She loved the ingredients, flavor, freshness, and size. Possibly one of the best 'bang for your buck' items that we tried. I didn't catch his name, but the gentleman running the truck was super nice, brought my wife's salad inside to her while the rest of us were outside waiting on other food, and even ran over to help the guy in the So Cheesy truck push out orders! Amo Samis Sammies: We tried the Breadless Chicken Shawarma Bowl. It was delicious and piled a mile high with tasty, marinated, tender chicken. The dressing was light and tangy, and the Lebanese pickles were incredible. I initially thought the price was a bit high for a 'bowl', but after seeing how much chicken was stacked on top, it made sense.

We had our wedding reception in the Gallery area, and I know every one of guests would agree with us in that it's one of the most unique venues there is for wedding receptions. Our original planner had to move away unexpectedly, so her boss took over the remainder of the planning process. She was very professional and was very knowledgeable when it came to the selection of the food menu, as well as providing ideas for the floorplan layout and décor. She was never pushy with her ideas at all, which helps reduce the amount stress a bride-to-be has to deal with already. The caterer is Opus-One, and the offerings for weddings are truly top notch. We were offered a complimentary tasting for 4 several weeks before wedding. For the appetizers, the Mini Chicken Wellington was the crowd favorite. For the entrée, the Rock Shrimp, Bay Scallop and Snow Crab Fettuccine was the favorite, the Wilted Spinach was an awesome veggie, the Yukon Gold Whipped Potatoes was awesome, and the favorite dessert was the Opus-One chocolate chunk cookies, served with vanilla ice cream. The top shelf open bar was very well received as well. As for cost, it's really not any more expensive than the "wedding factories" that hosts 3-4 wedding receptions on the same day, at the same time. You're getting so much more in terms of ambiance, quality of food, uniqueness for spending the same amount of money. Overall, we loved having our reception at the Ford CEC. Everything turned out perfect and the flow of the evening was seamless. I highly recommend anyone to consider the Ford CEC as a wedding reception venue.

While I do feel as though some aspects of their work were nice, it was nothing like what I asked for. Personally, what is important to me is to have my vision come true, or at the least know what I am getting myself into. Had the florist set the expectations properly I would not have been as disappointed as I am. As someone who has been planning and dreaming of my wedding for years, I am extremely saddened by the end result. I made a document with very very clear inspiration pictures, the end result was absolutely nothing like what was in the pictures. Unfortunately, I cannot go back to the past and change my wedding day florals, and what I am most upset about is I will never get a chance to have my vision come true. As a bride, I have spent a tremendous amount of time in an effort to provide details and examples which would ensure I was understood. My planning was all pointless in the end. The day before the wedding I arrived to pick up the boutonnieres- the florists were working on my wedding flowers. Although my inspiration pictures were very clearly neutral and blush colors, I mistakenly used the term "pink" to describe what I wanted. As a result most of the flowers used were a very bright fluorescent pink. I asked them to replace the flowers as it was absolutely nothing like what I wanted. He stated that he already ordered the flowers and that there was nothing he could do in an attempt to provide the colors that I wanted, instead he took out the flowers that were bright pink. As a result my arrangements were not nearly as full as they should have been, and not what we paid for. The large centerpieces I selected looked awful in my opinion. They also were absolutely nothing like the inspo pictures. We paid to have two dozen hanging roses, but they only had one dozen hanging roses. I made sure to state that I wanted all of the hanging flowers to be the same color. So removing the bright pink flowers should not be an excuse as to why the other dozen were not provided. As a result there were less flowers. In the documents with my vision, I was sure to write that I did not want hydrangeas at my wedding. Upon walking into the venue I immediately noticed that there were hydrangeas. I have looked over our invoice which stated that we were only doing greenery. I am sure that they thought I would not pay attention to or notice this, but it was really frustrating to me. My decision to chose AK floral as my wedding florist was driven by the fact that he seems reputable, has great reviews online and also works closely with several reputable wedding planners. While I made my vision VERY clear with SEVERAL pages of inspiration pictures, I truly believe he did not care to look at my inspiration pictures, hear about my vision or even pay attention to me. I am unsure if this is because I was not a wedding planner, or did not have a wedding planner. We paid over our budget in an attempt to ensure that our flowers would be beautiful and that our vision was executed. Even so, that unfortunately was not the case. I truly felt like I was "disposable" or just another bride. The final takeaway from this is to the business is, I truly wish you the best of luck and sincerely hope that no other bride or couple will have to face my same frustrations. I definitely believe that this business has the potential to be a great one. My advice to the florist is to set expectations to the bride VERY CLEARLY. There was a lot of "yes I can do this" but the results were not in line with promises made. A lot of this interaction can truly be a game of he said she said, and I have considered that while I am only one bride planning one wedding and they are event florists consistently doing multiple events- a lot my requests may have got lost in transition. To that I say, there should be a better effort to document properly on their end and be as descriptive as possible.
