This is an experience. Cash only, ATM onsite. This unassuming bar has the BEST burgers. You order a burger to your liking. They will provide you a burger in a bun, a bag of pickles, thick slabs of onion as well as packets of mayo or miracle whip and bottles of catsup and mustard on the table. The burger is served in wax paper with lots and lots of napkins. The burger is phenomenal; juicy, hot and quality. Get a cheeseburger with American cheese if you want it goopy. It's SOOO good! Get the fringers or some rings to share. They also have a good tuna melt that's delicious. They serve cans of soda and of course drinks. I mean, we are talking about an absolute classic locally, known mainly for their burgers. A cash only bar and restaurant, this is in every essence a dive bar of the greatest order. Part of the charm, of course, used to be able to get a really great burger and beer for less than my kid's tuition, but like with everything and everyone else, prices have gone up, but I can handle that, but I can't seam to figure out is that the meat doesn't taste the same anymore. Not that it's bad per se, but definitely different than it used to be. I've always had a good interaction with the staff and they have always been good to me, no problems there, and the ambiance is pretty much what you would expect a dive bar that's 80 years old to have. The burger was large and pretty good. The service was friendly. The ambiance is old-school dive bar. I used to enjoy coming here back in 2018 when the burgers were $5. Recently we visited with 2 adults and 1 teen. We had 3 cheeseburgers, 3 pops, 1 fry, and 1 onion ring. Oh, and we also had grilled onions, which they charged $1 extra for. All were pretty good. Not great, but pretty good. What I didn't love was my $82 bill! WOW! Prices have gone up. I just wanted to give people a heads up ... this was once a very affordable little burger place. I've been coming here for many years, I realized that I never left a review. We stopped by for lunch on Sunday, it was slow. We had a nice server and we just ordered some drinks, plus burger fries and onion rings. $58 for 2 mixed drinks, a pop, 2 cheeseburgers, a hamburger, an order of fries and onion rings. I don't come often because I think the burgers are overrated, but my friend was in the area and wanted to eat here. I was pleasantly surprised by the burger, they seemed larger than I remembered. Greasy in a good way, lots of cheese and they bring onions and pickles to top them. I thought the baggy of pickles was sort of weird, I remembered there were condiment containers on the tables before. Yummy shoestring fries and great breaded onion rings. Haven't been there a while but went with a group from work. Had the cheese burger and combo of fries and onion rings. The burger was well cooked but lack of seasoning. Was kind of bland. It was served on a wax paper and had onions and pickles on the side. My bill was $over $19.00 without a drink. This is in the territory of Ford garage burger and fries with a fired egg. Visiting Detroit for a family party and my bro in law's coworker recommended coming to Miller's Bar to watch the college football game. As soon as we saw it we thought, hmm doesn't quite have a sports bar feel, more like a dive bar feel. But that's fine. We walked in and it wasn't crowded at all and they have a few TV's. Definitely not a sports bar but it was still quaint. Very clean inside and welcoming. The guy started telling us immediately about their famous burgers, what they are know for. We were sold. Decided to share a cheeseburger and some fries/onion rings and a drink. Seeing people walk in felt like they are regulars so definitely a "locals" joint. The waitress brought us pickles in a ziploc which was interesting. She said they don't put anything on the burger, we do it ourselves. There was mustard and ketchup on the table. The building from the outside just looks like a block of cement but when you walk in the bar looks like a 50s bar. So the interesting things about this place: its Cash Only, they don't have menus, and the food is simple: Hamburger, Cheese burger and Chicken Sandwich, Fries and Onion Rings as sides. Also they go on the honor system, once you finish eating you go up to the bar and tell them what you ordered. It makes this place pretty cool, the vibe in here is very chill, quiet and calm. Sat next to the grill and watch that magic happen, pulling the big patties out of the drawer slapping them on the flat top scooping them up dropping them on that paper. Magic, here comes my burger and yes I got the big fat slice of raw onion and a little bag of pickles. I went ahead and gave it a squirt of ketchup and mustard, little raw onion on it with them pickles and yes it was magic, that American cheese just melted all down it, it was very juicy, The pickles the mustard so good, and it was a pretty fat not sure if they're half pounders, but come on this burger is good. My family and I have been coming here for decades and it's always fantastic. There is a menu on the wall if you need it. I always get a cheeseburger. You get a choice of American or Swiss cheese, and the burger is cooked to order. I prefer mine medium rare and they do it so perfect. Sliced pickles and fresh onion are brought to the table so you can add what you like to your burger. I love their fresh onion. Burgers are served on waxed paper. I love it! Easy for me to squirt some ketchup on the side, and I'm not dirtying any dishes. I also enjoy their fries, which are nice and crispy. The onion rings are great too. They have a full bar so you can have an alcoholic beverage, and they serve sodas and bottled water too. They use the honor system for paying. When finished, you go up to the cash register and tell them what you ordered and they tell you what you owe. Fast and easy. Cash only. Excellent service! Friendly and attentive staff. They take orders and you cash out at the bar on the order system. They sell burgers, beer, fries and onion rings. They serve your burger on parchment paper and the only sauces are ketchup and mustard So my fries arrived first. Shoestring fries. Crispy, tasty, and not overly salted. The burger comes next. On its wax paper. Let's start with the bread. Soft, and wow... but that wasn't the bread that sold it. The cheese was so good! The meat, cooked to a perfect temperature. Remember how I said you only can get ketchup or mustard, well you don't need it. Holy smokes. It's was juicy, the meat season and cooked perfectly. I'm not a huge burger guy. Here's an idea How bout we all just boycott this place until they get their s$&t together and also lose the attitude? I happened to be in the area but was in a time crunch. The phone call was fine. My ordered was ready on time. I tipped the bartender on the carry out but she had something to say to the back of my head as I was leaving with the food. Idk, how much she was expecting but a tip on a carry out is better than NO TIP on a carry out. My total was $16 for a cheeseburger and fries. For anyone who's not yet visited Miller's, their burgers are essentially large sliders with a regular old "grocery store" type bun. The fries are the least expensive wholesale brand of shoestrings that exist in the world of restaurant food. I do my best to support local business owners. However, this price GOUGE is off the charts!!! To make matters worse, the $5.50 order of fries were balled up in wax paper and basically looked like someone did their very best to squeeze the package into oblivion. Im sorry I have to do this. I loved Miller's and their burgers, but this is no longer the Miller's I remember. Ever since the pandemic, it seemed different. Whoever is cooking the burgers is drastically undercooking them. I order medium, but they seem close to raw inside. Also, these seem to be just frozen patties and bland. I would like to think it was a one-time thing, but as of today, it's been like this the last four times i have been here. That and the prices have gone out of control, and they no longer even have baskets... everything just gets a pice of waxed paper. I hope they take this to heart as Millers was one of the places I have great memories of coming to with my dad for burgers while we watched the Tigers and Lions but more often, just for what were their great burgers. read more
