The coordination of the reception was done flawlessly by Gary, the owner, and Greg, the chef and manager.

Absolutely Unacceptable - DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM!…read more If I could give Knockerball Michigan zero stars, I would. They completely ruined my son's 11th birthday party by canceling with only 16 hours' notice--after weeks of planning and excitement. We had 10 kids ready to go, and at the last minute, they just bailed on us. The owner didn't even call, he just sent a TEXT at 8pm on a Saturday night that said the employee who was supposed to run the party was injured and he couldn't find anyone else to run the party. I'm not sure how an establishment like this doesn't have a back up plan for these circumstances. There was no attempt to make it right, just a "sorry, we can't do it" and you can have a refund or rebook for a discount. The refund took days to get to me and ZERO dates or suggestions were given for rebooking. The lack of professionalism is astounding. How do you run a business like this? A children's birthday party is not something you just cancel on a whim. We were left scrambling to come up with a backup plan, and let me tell you, finding something - anything - with that little time was near impossible. Save yourself the headache and book with a company that actually values their customers. Knockerball Michigan clearly doesn't care about reliability, professionalism, or doing the right thing. Avoid at all costs.

Although I never actually participated, it was hilarious to watch. One of the staff gathered all the kids together and explained the rules and how they would play about 3-5 games in the time span of 2 hours with breaks. At the very end she let me just have a free roam. I was almost on the floor laughing. Kids were being bounced all over the place, doing all types of flips, kicks, tricks and rolls. After about 35 minutes I could tell they were exhausted!!! I was almost as tired from laughing. Unfortunately being as I was invited myself, I don't have the exact prices for the event, but I would call or go on their website. Overall I enjoyed watching and think it's really unique idea. I told myself I'd come back with a group of friends and actually get in this time as it's for all ages to knock some people around!

As a novice of woodworking, I was blown-away by the intricate woodwork and finishings throughout the home. The three ladies that lead our tour of the home shared many interesting details about the property, its restoration, and details of Clara and Henry's years at the estate. Many of the restoration stories, like finding a tub for Henry's bathroom or how Clara had a section repainted white were intriguing. Even though much of the home, especially the second floor, is still being restored it was a fascinating experience.

There wasn't much actually open amongst the majestic-looking buildings while I was there, but the picnic area was hopping. The signage was bilingual-in English and Arabic-and what appeared to be a Yemeni wedding seemed to be taking place. The juxtaposition of the estate of an industrialist (or robber baron, or visionary, or racist, depending on your point of view) with a distinctive immigrant community makes for a striking reflection on Americana. The grounds include some gardens, and a lake with a path around it. Access to the river is limited, but it didn't look like that impressive of a river. The greenery is more worthwhile.
