It really pains me to write this review. For decades we've been going to Miller's. The bar burgers were the best. It had been years since I've been there. The only thing I can say is, "Things have really changed", and not in a good way. 4 burgers, 3 fries and 3 cokes - $70. WoW The burger patty's looked uniform and pre-frozen. They were cooked to order but overall they were tasteless. They were dripping grease. Just not the same. It's a shame. Too many of the great old places are gone. I cannot say enough about Millers Bar. The burgers are perfect! The beer is great, a few years ago I noticed that the burgers were falling into a mediocre mode, when I revisited it a year ago I realized that the burgers tasted like they did ten years ago! That was too good to be true, and I am a loyal customer ever since!!! I heard that they have been purchased by someone from the original owners all I can say is keep up the good work! This place has been on my list for a while now, and my boyfriend and I finally went there tonight. He had been before, since he lives downriver, but I had not. I won't repeat what the other reviewers have said, but there are no menus, and you pay at the bar after you eat so it's on the honor system. For two burgers (no cheese), onion rings to split, and two Cokes, it was $23.50, which is reasonable. They have pickles on the table which was awesome because I love pickles; this way you can put as many as you want on it. They will bring you raw onion for your burger but be aware that they do not have tomatoes. They also have ketchup and mustard at the table. The ladies room was very clean although very dated. The men's room is actually located near the entrance and the ladies room is located on the North side of the building, closest to the parking lot. I'm taking away a star because they don't have tap water, which always annoys me (only bottled). If you order a soda they'll bring it in a can, with a glass and some ice, which was fine. I thought the onion rings were fantastic and the burger was good but not worth the hype. Other reviewers have said that they are hand-shaped patties, but to me they did not look like that. I would come back here when in the area, mostly for those fantastic onion rings, but I probably would head to Brome to get a "bougie" burger instead of to Miller's. read more

These burgers also embrace the old-school approach. Don't expect a plethora of inventive toppings for their burgers, Miller's Bar is not that kind of joint. Also, don't expect a plate. It will come on wax paper with very few toppings offered. But with burgers this good, you don't want to mask the flavor with toppings. Service is good, but keep in mind it is a neighborhood bar, not a fine dining establishment. Miller's Bar has been here for over eighty years, that in itself is a testament and an accomplishment. I've been coming to Miller's for about 50 years. Today was the worst experience ever. It was busy and the waitress who was busting her hump to take care of the entire dining room was clearly overwhelmed. It took us almost 40 minutes to get drinks, and that's Coke or Vernors. Food did not come out until an hour and 15 minutes after we arrived. We noticed several other tables that came in after us received their food first, extremely poor management. The burger is nothing like I remember. Dried out and tasteless. The bun was nothing special. Fries were OK, onion rings were outstanding. No effort was made to comp us for the poor service, which I repeat was not the fault of the waitress. She's our favorite. I caught the eye of the owner and told him the first line in this review. He looked frustrated as he started to say he was sorry, but by then I had departed. Truly disappointing as I always make an effort to come here when returning to Michigan to visit family. I would seriously question coming here again, especially anytime close to the lunch hour. You might think this is a one time occurrence, but my family had a very similar experience about a month ago. read more

I don't know man....not the same since it got sold off....the burgers are an ounce less but about $3-4.00 more than it used to be and they added double burgers....so not 1lb of burger for $20.00.....and a ridiculously priced grilled cheese which is a new menu item....the fries and ring are also smaller than it used to be. And now offer an un advertised pricing handful of simple deli sandwiches that looked too small for any serious sandwhich maker or consumer to care for. Plus there are like 9 deli/ sandwhich shops withing MAYBE a quarter mile of the place.....beer, for its petite size ( same size as their sodas) is laughable, but that's always been the case....they might do better as a B.Y.O.B joint read more

Jeff the bartender,( who has been working there for over 40 years) suggested ordering the burger how you order your steak, so medium rare. Before we could drink a few sips, the burgers and fries and onion rings arrived. Do not review this place as though it is a 5 star restaurant. It's plainly stated, burgers, grilled cheese ect. We got exactly what we ordered and expected, a big, juicy, cheesy burger. You can get velveeta or Swiss cheese, pickle and onion. They still do the honor system you tell them what you ordered. I will never forget my first visit here. I made the grave mistake of asking at the bar when I ordered my burger for some miscellaneous veggies on top of my burger. The woman behind the bar told me the only veggies I could get on my cheese burger would be raw onions and pickles. Okay. I got a cheeseburger with raw mojos to have something more than just the meat and American cheese slice. Your burger and fries or onion rings come out on paper tissues to your table. The mustard and ketchup are the two condiments, pickles too. You pay your bill at the end, it's on the honor system. Don't. Do not. I drove 25 minutes to get there after hearing about it for a decade, and you absolutely should not do that. You shouldn't even drive 5 minutes to get there. Just don't go there. Yes, I know, you've heard foreeeever that Miller's is a great burger; it's included on every Best Burgers list you've ever read. This is absolutely NOT "the best burger in Metro Detroit"; it's not even better than fast food burgers, much less better than other restaurants. It is a good-sized but entirely tasteless $10 puck of beef, and the "fresh never frozen" boast does absolutely diddly-squat to improve it. My "medium" burger was gray on the outside but so cool and red throughout the entire center that I spent three full bites' worth of time being concerned that I shouldn't be eating this before deciding it was probably fine and if it wasn't, it was too late anyway. I had to put salt on the burger because it obviously had no seasoning in or on the meat. What the hell? I also had to put salt on the fries, which were cooked well enough but were similarly tasteless; good texture but uninteresting and certainly not good enough to be $4.75. The $5 onion rings were the only actually good thing. Hearty, crunchy breading (not battered), cooked through without being burnt, and a big enough serving to justify the price. The $3.25 shell of Miller would have been fine if their tap lines had been cleaned at any point since Watergate, but I don't believe they have. It was pretty bad. (Also, you don't get to know any of the prices before you order. Given that it's cash-only, multiple people trying to pay their bill at the register next to my seat at the bar were unhappy to learn how high their bill actually was.) I have absolutely no idea what traumatic brain injury has been collectively suffered by all the people who say this is a good burger, much less "the best burger in metro Detroit", but to them I say: absolutely not. Maybe this was the best Detroit could come up with in 1972, but today it is the worst burger I've had anywhere in the Eastern Time Zone. read more

New owner has not changed the quality of food. The burgers are large and tastefully juicy. Fries served hot as well as onion rings having a tasty crunchy batter to accompany a perfect burger. Staff of very friendly servers, especially Lyne who has been there for years. Nice to continue with welcoming and familiar staff. I like that the friendly owner pitches in to help and actually stops at the table to greet customers. The bar is very clean and well lighted. The same honor system to pay the bill. A few extra changes - bar no longer charge extra for water. Now open at noon on Sundays, which is awesome. We're so glad Miller's remains in Dearborn serving the best burger they're known for. read more

Don't serve Guinness if you don't know how to serve it correctly. Had the widget bottle, which is fine. But, they brought it to the table opened and no glass. Waitress didn't know what a pint glass was. Showed us three different glasses before finding one big enough to hold a pint. By then the Guinness had settled in the bottle and it was gross. read more

Okay. I don't know how I've lived this long without having had a burger at Miller's. There are no frills. It's just a damn good burger. Served on a piece of wax paper. Fries were great, but don't skip the onion rings- you will regret it! This place has the friendliest people working here. Everyone we came across was just so friendly. We came late, and in the middle of the week. It didn't seem too crazy. It's also "covid times" so they might have been limiting capacity. Everyone was wearing masks and gloves. They were serving water bottles instead of glasses of water. Pickles and onions were prepped and stored in individual ziploc baggies so that they weren't out in the open. There is no muss or fuss, just straight to the point great food and drinks served with excellent service. *I plan to return here because I loved it so much.* It is cash only (atm @ door) so be prepared. They also don't bother to put your order into a POS computer. They go by the honor system so you have to remind them of what you ordered. BURGERS were served with pickles in a bag and onions on a napkin, catsup and mustard. We limed that you could build your own. The cook might have never cooked a well-done burger but it was tasty. Dive, Grouchy Waitress, Great Burgers I just got to say this place has one hell of a following due to all the articles written by the local and national press. I first had them super burgers about 30 years ago and not much has changed except the prices are now higher than what there truly worth. The places packs them in and the staff is a rude as ever. I do not agree they be the best that goes to Mason's in Livonia that truly makes a burger called the double shift that is ground fresh daily in house for 60 years. Well worth the visit to say you've been there done that and most go back for much more. I've eaten dozens of Miller burgers over the years and they are great just not the best and the old grouchy ladies that plop them down need a new job maybe as a greeter at Walmart. You want the best try Masons in Livoina same thing ground fresh on site and the owner will tell you he'll go head to head with them anyday. read more

So Miller's Bar is one of those places that has a reputation. You know, when I first got to Michigan and the locals would say 'you gotta go to Miller's Bar for the burgers'. And then you hear how it's a dive bar, it just does burgers, no frills, not even plates, and cash only, etc. etc...you know, quirky, legendary, should be on the national registers... So is it a dive bar? Sure is. Straight up cocktail bar, 3 standard beers on tap, bottles, and at the end of the bar is the kitchen, basically one fry-top and that's what they do - burgers. You can get a grilled cheese sandwich, apparently, and onion rings if you don't want fries...and the burgers are basic, no tomato, no lettuce, no nothing except pickles and onions. No frills for sure. Overall, it's not a bad place. Our drinks were fine, the one beer on tap I ordered was not cold and not enjoyable. The bartender who served us was fine, but there was nothing special to me about this bar. And that's exactly how I felt about the burger. It was cooked to order, the cook was obviously pretty good at this, but this burger...this supposedly awesome burger, so good it's on national lists...was okay. That's it. Cooked as I asked, not bad, but completely unremarkable to me. I may be biased in thinking you can't just serve a burger with pickles and onions....but honestly I can't think of anything that made this one stand out.
