    Meat Ravioli. 8 for $11
    Vincent L.

Keep hearing about this place from everyone about being one of the best pizza in metro Detroit. Menu is simple. Pizza is thin and crispy, has a good char on the bottom to give additional flavor. Ingredients are fresh, pizza doesn't feel greasy or heavy even with pepperoni Ravioli is good too. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Since it is so popular and the restaurant is small. It does get crowded pretty quick.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Dollar store pizza.

The line is absolutely insane. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is dirty and the line just to order is ridiculous.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Cheap ingredients. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The pace is VERY dirty to add insult to injury.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Not impressed at all.

Delicious pizza that's made fresh by Fredi himself! Everyone here is so kind and the food comes out really quick. Great pizza, would definitely recommend to anyone.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I love the atmosphere of this place, was excited to try it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Flat out, it's legit.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I've had pizza all over the US, and this ranks ahead of most - including Some well known pizza places. Took a number, ordered, and it came out fairly quick despite being busy. Everyone was super nice, but at the end of the day - the pizza is the real star.

Magical pizza. So freaking good. Best neopolitan style pie in metro Detroit. Grab a ticket and wait until they call you to order. Just Fredi and his assistant slinging pies and baking them to perfection in an ancient pizza oven. No frills, just good pizza. Expect to wait, but it's worth it on every level. Fredi has a great charity that equips sensory rooms around the state. Top of its class pizza from Fredi, a class act. It doesn't get better than this!

First off let me start by saying this is not my 1st rodeo at this establishment. As an avid fan of Fredi's style of pizza I would have to say these two pies were delicious, but definitely not my go-tos. If you enjoy no cheese pizza (which I sadly found out I did not) then try the New Haven. Despite no cheese it had a nice crunch to it and the sauce was fire so I will give it that. Now where shall I begin on the Johnny Ola. This thing was crafted with care. The white pizza game here went crazy for real and the spinach was top notch quality not that bunk stuff you find at Meijer. [[HIGHLIGHT]]As for the ambiance of the location let's just say it is always packed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They opened at 2pm , and people were already there at 1:45pm so that threw me off. It took almost an hour to order because there was a lot of families ahead of me but if you are willing to wait you will not be disappointed. Definitely a gem in Melvindale because before Fredi The PizzaMan you would never catch me out there doing anything. I will for sure be back, again!

    Hot honey pizza with pepperoni

I came here with my sisters a few days ago and I had a good time overall. We came in at 3:30ish and there was a sign that they were low on pizzas already. I got nervous because I know the hype around this place. We go in get a number and then order maybe 2 or 3 minutes later. I ask her what's available and she said everything so I was really confused. I was still confused because online it says I can still order plain slices but you can't anymore. I ordered the hot honey pizza but not the one on the left side of the menu. I dont know, I got the one with pepperoni on it. I also asked for a cheese pizza and she asked me if I wanted to do half cheese and half pepperoni... I thought she meant for the hot honey but it wasn't. I ended up getting two pizzas which was fine. Just confusing. Overall, pizza was good. The crust was really burnt on both honestly but the flavor was good. It burnt all of our mouths. My sister's roof of her mouth was so burnt that it peeled... I'd never seen that before. Just be careful and don't feel bad to ask the person taking your order questions. It can feel really overwhelming.

Really enjoyed our lunch at Fredi's! The place is busy and we had a short wait. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Once we got in, we were able to sit at a table and eat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The pizza was great. My only regret was that I didn't order more! Also, special shout out to Fredi for all he does to support people with Autism in our schools and around metro Detroit.0

    Clemenza

What makes this place different from the other places is the quality of the dough and cook of it. They make a good undercarriage and crust that is crispy and has a good bite too it. Fredi also doesn't skimp out on the cheese as the it's loaded with it. I tried "the don" and Clemenza. I preferred the clemenza as it was a lot lighter and balanced pizza compared to the don which felt very heavy for me but was good for only a slice of so. However if you like a meaty filling pizza it's a great choice.

I walked in and was immediately greeted and told to take a number. I was told that someone would be with me when my number was called. This is similar to your deli counter at the supermarket. A short time later, I placed an order for a cheese pizza. This is a pro move because you get to see how the crust, sauce, and cheese actually taste versus how they are masked with all the toppings. When I ordered it, the cheese pizza came out blazing hot. If you like light pizza with great cheese and sauce, this is the place to be. The pizza was also thin and crispy. If you like that style of pizza, this is for you. It tasted so good and was so light that I was able to finish it by myself. He came back again at night, when he was not busy but about 15 minutes before he closed. He allowed us to order two pizzas. I ordered the cheese and also the Margaritta Pizza. The cheese was just as fresh, hot, and just as good as my first time. The Margarita Pizza was not my favorite. He for sure has the consistency, which is why I gave it five stars. If you happen to be in the area, stop in; it is worth it!

We've been coming for years, and it just gets better with time. Fredi is always present making exceptional pizza. The service is solid, with each person staying on top of their specific tasks. They treat everyone well and keep the pace moving. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Over time the seating has shifted, patios have been added and are continually improved.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Every time we have family or friends in town this is a must stop and what they ask for on every visit.

I learned about Fredi the pizza man a few years ago and have always wanted to try it. I live on the total opposite side of town but decided today was the day to give it a shot. You pull a ticket when you walk in the door and place your order up at the counter. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The tables are large and have benches to sit on.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The walls are covered with pictures of celebrities and sports players that have enjoyed Fredi's pizza over the years.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu is on the wall written on a chalkboard and there is graffiti al over that has been written my customers. I got a Apollonia with hot honey, a Joey zaza triple pepperoni and an order of the goulash. Dave "El Presidente Portnoy gave Fredi's pizza an 8.7 and said it was "undoubtedly the best pizza in Detroit" and I couldn't agree more. Everything was delicious and my only regret is that I didn't try it out years ago when I first heard about it.

    1/2 Reheated Pepperoni+Hot Honey Pizza 1/2 Sausage+Spinach Pizza
    Ian N.

Pepperoni and Hot Honey Pizza (4/5): There wasn't anything that particularly wowed me, but this was a very solid pizza with good cheese, good sauce, and a good crust. I liked how thin the crust was on the bottom of the pizza, but the actual crust part was too crunchy (probably my fault during the reheat). The hot honey was pretty subtle, but added a nice hint of sweetness. Sausage and Spinach Pizza (3/5): The pizza itself was good, but I wasn't a fan of the sausage and spinach.  *I tried this reheated at home instead of fresh from the restaurant. RATING SYSTEM 5 - Great (Need to get this again) 4 - Good (Would get this again) 3 - Ok (Might give this another shot) 2 - Not Good (Won't get this again) 1 - Bad (Telling people to avoid this)

Cheese, Pepperoni, bacon, hamburger, onion, bell pepper, mushrooms & basil leaves . Made my way. Fredi's Special Pizza

Ask the Community - Fredi The PizzaMan

Any online or call ahead ordering or is it only drop in?

Fredi, does not have a landline or internet, the only way to order is to go to the location

    Is he ever open?

I would verify the hours on the website. We picked the pizza up within the time they were open from 1300-1500, 1pm to 3pm.

Is this a traditional sit down pizzeria? Order on site?

Yes but due to covid the inside is closed

Fluffy bread and a pleasant crust, this pizza parlor introduced me to some of the better pizzas during my stay. I got the Meat Lovers and the Big Mack to try. The Meat Lovers is what you expect, just a good amount of meat to pair with the large amount of dough and cheese. It's a bit oily and heavy, so the Big Mack was actually my favorite due to the lighter nature and the accurate taste compraison to an actual Big Mac. Beer was also great. I've been getting into beer lately and wanted to try some Michigan-brewed beer and the options as well as the taste did not disappoint. Service was good. I let them know that I wasn't from Michigan and it was my first week there and they gave me a good run-down of the menu. Their recommendations were solid and they leave us unattended for too long. I wish there was a bit more table space at the communal tables, but there's only so much you can do with the size of the restaurant.

For a starter, the cashew Caesar salad ($8) was ordered. It came with mixed greens, house-made cashew Caesar dressing, fried shallots, and vegan parmesan. This was very tasty. It was unique with the fried shallot addition. The dressing was just enough. It all appeared very fresh and crisp. The cheese had somewhat of an odd texture, but not a big deal. For a meal, the lobster roll pizza ($45) was ordered. This was so unique that it had to be tried. It came with 6 oz. wild caught lobster, herb crème fraiche, celery and onion brunoise, Cape Cod chips, and chives with drawn butter and lemon. This was very rich, so the addition of the lemon juice and crunchy chips really helped offset that. It was also heavy due to the components incorporated. The lobster appeared fresh and there was plenty of it. The butter was not even needed, but solid for a slight dip. The crème fraiche was solid and different. The crust was crispy and great too. Will I go back? I would, yeah.

Their house salad has green olives, red onion, carrot shredded, tomatoes and I only saw one pepperoncini. The bread sticks were chewy and good and tasted good with their house ranch sauce too.
